  1. Yes the "alert my Star Destroyer" line is terrible. The original "Bring my shuttle" was one of my fave lines. Vader sounds p*ssed off in the original line. Ill be buying the box set as I want to see these on Blu Ray. Its funny though how dated some of the special edition CGI stuff is nowadays in particular the Dewback & Jawa scene. Its a pity they havent cleaned up the deleted scenes and put them in the films for this release. They go to all the bother of putting in a terrible song in ROTJ years ago yet they leave Luke building his Lightsaber out and on the extras. Silly Lucas.
  2. slightly better but still not sold. Its way too much like a US show now e.g a bunch of good looking people p*ssing about in laboratories etc I pray that Doctor Who does not become solely funded by the $$$.

    your favs?

Planet of The Dead was a bit bobbins apart from Michelle Ryan and the look on the Doctors face upon hearing the he will knock 4 times news. I agree about The Next Doctor not being up to much but as you said there are good bits in even the poorest of episodes. Ive liked all the Moffat series, I think Victory of The Daleks is underrated and Matt Smith is fantastic. Hes now my second fave Doctor behind Tom Baker.
  4. Too American plus the charm and character has gone. It was a bit John Woo at times which was fine in the 90's. Dunno if ill bother next week, mind you there may be no point after that THIS SEASON trailer that lasted almost as long as the episode. The bit with the earmuffs was good though.

I like it. Its a homage to Doctor Who fan groups and its at times quite witty. Fear Her is TERRIBLE

    your favs?

Doc - TOM BAKER Companion - JAMIE Classic ep - GENESIS OF THE DALEKS New series ep - TIME OF ANGELS least watched classic? KEYS OF MARINUS new series? FEAR HER is the obvious one but in hindsight there are now a lot of Tennant & Ecclestone episodes which im not keen on nowadays.
  8. my earliest memory of watching DW is The Sea Devils or The Green Death particularly the big maggots. I think they may have been repeats as I dont remember seeing THE TIME WARRIOR which came after The Green Death. I have vague memories of Invasion of The Dinosaurs & Bilal in Death To The Daleks too. I do however remember crying my eyes out when Jon Pertwee died in Planet of The Spiders. I was devastated ive been told.
  9. I always just get autos off folk I like. I used to get autos off the Horror folk with the Who stuff but now im strictly Doctor Who. 20 years ago I would have been first in the que for Clive Barker but I didnt even pay getting a sig no mind on Saturday. I did however have a quick peek at him though. Hes a legend. I originally intended to get a joint Sylv and Sophie auto and sigs off the rest of the other Doctor Who folk but was so knackered after travelling by coach I just got Sarah Suttons & Louise Jamesons in the end whom I already have. I think by 10 a.m Id been up for 22 hours. I didnt even hang round for Karen Gillans number to come up. I managed to get her auto when I was in Cardiff last year so it wasnt the end of the world. Next time were getting the train and staying over as the lack of sleep, the indoor heat and the huge amount of people at the show was not a good mix. Off topic I had a very surreal day, by 11.30 pm when our coach arrived id been awake for a total of 39 hours and had taken in the Doctor Who experiance, most of the sites of the Capital and spent nigh on an hour wandering round Convent Garden trying to find Forbidden Planet. Ive done that now, next time im doing the whole day at the Con.
  10. I noticed a few dealers had Dr Who figures at the show, and one or two had put up the "Get signed here today" , but it seems like a bit of a missed opportunity. An action figure is a great thing to get signed for a Collector and seeing show exclusives or really rare or collectible figures at a show would be great. Yes Id love a section with vintage figures on display too, say a Mego section or Action Man. I have a couple of signed WHO figures but they are tricky to sign what with the big bubble on the front. The Star Wars figures are great for autos. I have a couple signed on card and they look great.
  11. Id like to see a separate place for the selling of action figures in particular Doctor Who figures. More specifically Classic Era Doctor Who action figures. Classic Doctor Who figures mint on card and with an undented plastic bubble. In a corner preferably.
  12. Anyone else ever create a thread topic and wish they hadnt?
  13. Im a big fan of Doctor Who but I didnt fancy hanging around til 6pm. I love Karens portrayal of Amy and would have loved to have had another signed pic but the show was way too busy and too warm to hang around for four more hours. As a Mancunian in London for the first time since the 80s plus the fact Ive already met Karen once before we decided to split. Maybe I underestimated how many people would be attending. The Manchester and Birmingham shows were in no way that busy and I didnt take into account that a show in the capitol would be so packed. Silly me. Yes its a bit daft of me to expect Karen not to be hidden away in hindsight and if she ever does another show out of London ill be booking a photo shoot etc way in advance.
  14. Katy Manning aka Jo Grant gave me a hug once. I said I look rubbish in photos and she in reply said "dont be silly you" and then gave me a massive hug, which was nice.
  15. How rude can Doctor Who fans get? These people are not Black Metal fans. They are on the whole jovial types and jolly kids. Theres the odd loon from the classic series era who knows not of soap and manners but they are well behaved on the whole in my experiance since the show came back. Ive only ever seen a fight between two Doctor fans and that was a disagreement over who was the best Doctor. It got messy, there was a lot of tutting. I do think though that there was a lot of rude people at the show on Saturday. At many a con ive been to theres always plenty of "no..after you" and "excuse me" going on but that was missing from Earls Court. They was a lot of happy smiley people about but there was also a lot of expressionless folk just barging into everybody. Im not shy but along with the heat it put me off browsing. I went expecting to spend 200 quid and all i got was Reservoir Dogs for £5 on Blu Ray. I must point out apart from mumbles at the talk table the staff were great however. I do agree that there should be a cap on attendees but its a business and that line all the way to the road facing the tube indicated that business was very very good.
