  1. Still beaming over how fantastic Bill was. I feel so lucky to have met him. Thanks again for getting him over here, SM. :)
  2. Thanks for an amazing show, Jason. Also, thank you for being willing to test the waters with the more expensive guests. I don't think I will ever not smile when I think of William Shatner now, because it was such an amazing experience to meet him. I've been grinning like a loon from ear to ear since Saturday morning. I can't wait until next year. LFCC is my favourite SM event and unless something drastic happens, I'll always be there. Absolutely love it, such a fantastic day out!
  3. It will depend on the guests. I've had to cut back on cons because my budget isn't what is used to be, and November is a horrible time to travel. I went last year and the show was fantastic but getting there and back was awful. I was so wet and cold. I'll make the effort, though, if there are any people I want to see going. I do love London based events and will support them when I can.
  4. I can't believe how smoothly Saturday went in terms of entry and collecting the VTs. A couple of people tried to run toward the guest VT lines but Too Tall only had to raise his voice slightly and they stopped. Thanks, Too Tall, for keeping order! Makes the event so much less stressful when people aren't running around everywhere.
  5. That's absolutely awful! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with a guest...I don't think I've heard of many that have been worse than that. One has to wonder why Edi bothered agreeing to go if he's that agitated by cameras. It's a con. Of course there are going to be people taking photos everywhere...if he's that annoyed by the possibilitiy of getting snapped, maybe the convention enviroment isn't for him. Even William Shatner was allowing people to take candid photos in line as long as they weren't setting off flashes right in his face, and he was no doubt the busiest guest during the weekend. If someone of his standing can be so gracious, it's a pity that others can't follow a similar example.
  6. Someone else in another thread said they had someone in front of them in a line for a different guest who just wouldn't stop talking. Have to wonder if it's the same woman.
  7. Aw, he seems really lovely! It does seem like he has mellowed out a lot over the last couple of years. It would be really nice to have him back again, though given his age maybe not likely. Guess we'll see.
  8. What did he say about the Twilight Zone and Boston Legal? I'm really disappointed I couldn't make the talk, it sounds awesome. Glad everyone who went enjoyed it!
  9. Ack, SO JEALOUS. I thought about hanging around until it was an open queue in case it meant longer time with him...but I'm still really happy with my own experience. I probably wouldn't have had the nerves to have a proper conversation, anyway...I barely get starstruck anymore but I was shaking while I was waiting in line to meet him and grinning like an idiot for the rest of the day (and today, come to that).
  10. I've been attending SM cons since 2006 and I've never had an encounter with the infamous JCB. I know she's responsible for helping SM to get a lot of the bigger names over here but she really shouldn't be allowed to behave like that. If she's really as bad as I've read about, it's totally appalling and inexcusable.
  11. I saw her on Saturday and complimented her. She looked fantastic. Great costume.
  12. Who did you enjoy meeting the most? Everyone I saw was so lovely, but I have to say it was William Shatner really surprised me. He was so much cooler than I was expecting. Some really great guests this year. Possibly my favourite time at any SM event I've been to.
  13. Thanks, Trekkiefan. I'm sorry I had to miss it, sounds like it was an interesting talk. Was there any kind of Q&A with the audience? Not much due to the fact that Bill always has alot to say on stuff, about 6-7 questions where asked Thanks. From watching vids on YouTube he does seem to really know how to work a crowd. It would be nice to think Showmasters might get him back again in the future, though he's not getting any younger so I'm just glad I got to meet him at all. :)
  14. I'm curious also. Not really a sports fan but with a name like Mike Tyson, it's always interesting to hear how he is with fans.
  15. Thanks, Trekkiefan. I'm sorry I had to miss it, sounds like it was an interesting talk. Was there any kind of Q&A with the audience?
  16. He couldn't have been nicer to me! Looked at me, smiled, thanked me in return when I thanked him for coming and sounded very genuine. did the knuckle knock...I'm so happy. Will be on cloud nine for a while!
  17. I couldn't make William Shatner's talk in the end so I'm very curious as to what he talked about and how it went. If anyone could fill me in on any details, I'd be very grateful. :)
  18. I know the con isn't over yet but I wanted to thank the Saturday crew for being so awesome. Any time I needed help, they did their best and everyone I came across was really approachable and friendly. I can't imagine how hard you guys work, so a massive thank you for keeping everything together.
  19. I was supposed to attend both days, but due to an unexpected personal problem I had to cancel Sunday. Saturday was great, though. Apart from the lack of anywhere to sit (I really don't like sitting on a cold, hard and dirty floor...and I feel for anyone with health problems). The lack of seating is complained about EVERY year and nothing's ever done about it. Was there even a "chill zone" this year? If so, I couldn't find it...it's still far from good enough, though. Surely it wouldn't be THAT hard to set up a couple of seating areas with some plastic chairs or something? Considering this is the most complained about aspect of the con each year, it's annoying nothing is ever really done about it. But anyway. I met everyone I wanted autographs from. Aidan Turner arriving so late wasn't ideal but he was really nice and I got long enough with him. To make up for it, Shatner arrived much earlier than expected so that was a great surprise. I thought the Being Human cast were fantastic, and Katee Sackhoff was really fun. Shatner was a pleasant surprsing...he was engaging with fans far more than I was expecting, though I was in one of the early batches so I can't say what it was like during the afternoon. His queue was very controlled - thought it would be chaos getting to him but everything was really well managed, and props to Shatner for letting people take candid photos until they reached the second row. All in all a good day. Very disappointing I can't attend today and have to miss Shatner's talk, but sometimes through nobody's fault these things just happen, unfortunately.
  20. The Being Human trio were absolutely adorable. I met them in the morning and got a few words, handshakes and personalisations from each of them. Aidan Turner was very late but he was a sweetheart when I met him not long after he started signing. It sounds like they were much busier later, though. Katee was lovely - she comes across as very Starbuck in real life, though looks quite different with the red hair. I was telling her I'm working through Battlestar on DVD and am halfway through season three and she was very keen for me to see the finale. Shatner was way better than I was expecting. He was smiling, laughing, seemed to say a few words to each person (that I saw) and was doing the knuckle knock if you wanted one. After all the horror stories, I wasn't expecting him to even look up but he and his assistants were, I thought, professional and even nice. It was clear he was already exhausted (probably jet lagged) but I'm so glad I got to meet him.
  21. Actually managed to get a few hours sleep. I'm preparing to leave now. Taxi to take me to the train station will be here in fifteen minutes!
  22. I can't wait to meet Katee and attend her talk! She comes across as a beautiful, funny and very charming lady. Starbuck was my favourite character from the word go and she's the main reason I'm such a big fan of Battlestar. Though the whole cast are fabulous, really.
  23. Same! I've had dreams about my alarm failing me and everything going wrong. I expect I'll just go to bed and spend a couple of hours tossing and turning. Will be very surprised if I get actual, proper sleep at all.
  24. Well, tomorrow night is sorted - going to see Inception at the BFI Imax, premiere seating. Not bad at all! So I'm even more excited now, and I didn't think that was even possible!
