  1. No panic. Let's calm down. Deep breath... Ok, where did I put the house deeds?....
  2. Ok, this is what I think. Ready or not, here we go... I usually attend conventions if there are, at least, 3-4 guests I really like/want to meet. Once at the convention, I can also get more autographs from "minor" (i.e. less interesting to me but still important to a wide audience) guests. I live in Clacton which is not very close to any of the usual locations but I once drove up to Manchester just to meet 3 Space: 1999 people! MK is probably the best one for me as it takes 2 hours by car and I don't have to worry about parking. I go to London by train only. I am ready to drive long distances 2-3 times a year but no more than that. I don't fancy "themed events" as I have to plan in advance and cost too much. After all these glorious years there are a certain number of recurring guests (usually on the Star Wars side). It is time to vary a bit more. I did not go to some of the most recent conventions because I had already met most of the guests. I am not saying that some guests are better/more important than others. All guests can be fun and say interesting things. I don't particularly like photoshoots. They are too expensive. Although the initial reason behind them was a good one (i.e. having the chance of a photo with an otherwise very busy guest - and I am still happy with my Leonard Nimoy photo), now there are for nearly everyone, reducing the chances of having one a the table (the ones that I like). But if they are financially positive for the show keep them going... I hope these ponits are useful. Having said that, I hope Showmasters continue to keep up the excellent work and bring more guests. Events are never enough but I would concentrate on 3-4 big ones per year spread out between London (why not to try the Excel? More approachable by car.), MK and Birmingham.
  3. Agree with Count and 18blue78. However, being Italian I think you might want to consider inviting Berlusconi. He would pay US to get cheerings, chantings and clappings. Ok, I admit that is a bit morally low but can boost Showmasters finances
  4. "Che cavolo stai dicendo, Willis!". This is how his famous line was dubbed into Italian and it is how I remember the series. Allow me to remember him like this. RIP
  5. After spending 6 hours and a half in the traffic (A12, A14, M25, M1, A421 all slow due to road works and/or accidents - take care and leave home in advance if you live in East Anglia) we managed to get to MK. Very quiet, as expected. We were interested in Kate Mulgrew, Tim Russ and Jeffrey Coombs. All very nice, although Tim was more interested in playing with his new mobile phone than acknowledging my presence but was ok after all. Kate also allowed pictures at the table wich was nice. Stalls packed with a lot of interesting stuff, as usual - the original first issue of Fantastic Four was calling me like Ulysses' mermaids ("buy meeeee!"), then my wife suggested that I should sell my kidney for more important things...
  6. I can be there on Friday only but the line-up is excellent anyway. I will finally meet Capt. Janeway to complete my ST collection. Looking forward to it. See you all there...
  7. I agree! Showmasters should also be congatulated on making the guests' stay as pleasant as possible so they are fresh and relaxed when they meet the fans. On the other hand, Showmasters are responsible for me going around with fewer vital organs... Who cares? With a collection of more than 100 autos and some really nice memories...
  8. Oh well, more vital organs to save for now and sell fo LFCC... I just hope they don't decompose as they stay in my body for a little longer...
  9. EXCELLENT NEWS! That means I can keep some of my vital organs for two months more...
  10. Damn... Well, I am disappointed but the good news is that I can now call my surgeon to postpone (not cancel) the kidney removal...
  11. Ok, the Lloyds TSB manager will se me tomorrow to remortgage my house. Happy now, Showmasters?
  12. I met a lot of nice guests but the prize goes to Babylon5's Claudia Christian. I had with her the longest conversation ever, some 20 minutes! Having found out that I am Italian she asked me to stay to help her practice with the language. For work reasons she had to go to Italy and was learning the language (not bad at all, by the way). So we spoke Italian for the whole time about nearly everything, as other fans passed by for the autograph... Exactly for the same reason I had similar experiences with Ernest Borgnine, Mira Furlan and Robert Picardo.
  13. Outstanding news! I loved her character in Battlestar Galactica. The way she dies is heartbreaking...
  14. I met him and the other SJA actors at a different convention. Very friendly and very young, contrary to the other characters he is only 16-17! Well done SM.
  15. We don't need to build one, just need to get one from eBay. Remember, four of us have to go in on it and we then time-share it. Eventually it will upset one of the four when it causes our friend (the blonde across the hall who one of us has a crush on) to be late for work and have a crappy day........ WAIT A MINUTE!!!!! I checked. There are no Time Machines on e-bay but I'll check again tomorrow, you never know...
  16. Yes, they are going to be expensive but if we built a time machine we could go back in time in 2007 and invite them for Collectormania 11, when they were relativley unknown
  17. I need a way to create money out of nothing... By the way, do we know how many days she will be at MK?
  18. My first auto was Nichelle Nichols' at Collectormania 7 (May 2005) BUT my very first one was from the unforgettable Ed Bishop in 2002 who came here where I live. Now I have exactly 100 autos. Well, not for long...
  19. Ok, two more days to go and SM continues to not give any clues... I am going slightly mad but I must resist! :YAHOO: :YAHOO: I can't guess anymore. Too many variables. Damn you, Showmasters. You are merciless...
  20. Brian Blessed? Was he in Space: 1999? - Check Was he in Blackadder? - Check Was he in Flash Gordon? - Check It's ok by me, then.
  21. Ok, one day has passed, three more to go... I have to resist! I need a clue, PLEASE-PLEASE or my wife will have to get back that old straitjacket of mine. The mental therapy was going so well...
