  1. Sorry for any confusion maegurwen but I am actually female. lol. I didn't mention men as I wouldn't be willing to share with one (I'd feel a little unsafe though I'm sure all the Collectormaniacs are lovely people). I'm cool to share. Like I said, more money for auto's. I'm seriously skint and haven't booked Patrick Stewarts photo yet.
  2. I have the Stadium Hotel booked for Fri/Sat/Sun and would be willing to share. The only problem is that I booked a double bed. I don't know if the hotel is willing to swap rooms (probably not?). In which case I very much doubt there'd be any females wanting to share with me? I guess if you're desperate then I don't mind putting pillows down the middle of the bed. lmao Or the floor is always available I guess?? Just a thought. Plus sharing would get more money for autographs if we split it...though I wouldn't expect half the cost.
  3. Oh Wow, nice one Showmasters. Will be great to meet Sir Patrick Stewarts Son. Cool xxx
  4. Jersey, Channel Islands. So not as far as Paris or Belgium. But a plane journey though.
  5. I am just sooooo thrilled that I risked this event. My home life has been really crap lately. Trouble with Children's Office for a load of rubbish. Been non-stop work on decluttering my house. I'm on benefits and Social Security told me to go find a job. Which would normally be great as really bored stuck at home but the timing was ever so slightly inconvenient (understatement). Then I was told one thing by one department (has been recorded on their computer) and one by another, resulting in me being classed as a failed job-seeker and my money being messed with. Then a couple of weeks ago they decided to reduce my money by £130week due to my daughter being part-time at college (as if a teenager is going to give me any money). So I'm blinking glad that I'd already booked the flights and hotel earlier in the year and already got my photoshoot tickets for Kate Mulgrew and Klingons. So just need to somehow save some money for food and trains and of course for PATRICKS PHOTOSHOOT. But........forgetting all that crap............I am sooooo happy right now at the thought of not only meeting these great actors but also meeting all of you Collectormaniacs !!! Can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxx
  6. Oh My God !!! I've actually screamed and am worried I woke my son up. lmao. My 16 yr old daughter probably thinks I'm nuts now. lol I am sooooooooooo excited. Oh my God. I keep clapping excitedly to myself and keep making a funny squealing noise. I think this means I'm officially a Collectormania Nutter. lmao
  7. As I said in another topic, I would love to get into Cosplay. But unfortunately I'm only at C16 for a short time before having to run for my plane. But then again, I would love any chance to dress up as my fave characters. I came to CM15London and loved being surrounded by so many great costumes. It was so funny to watch people chase after Darth Vader asking for photo's lol. What you do is great. I want to just say how amazingly realistic the costumes are....what a brilliant job you all do. And thankyou Turk (and whoever else...not sure? lol) for arranging this. Look forward to seeing you all there. xxxxxx
  8. Hmmmmmmm. My flight back to Jersey is midday Monday. Wonder how long it'll take to get to Luton.......and how early on I could get photo. Robert Beltran was my favourite Voyager Actor (even named my cat Chakotay). I really hope (but doubt) that the photo shoot will be first up. I'd be buying a ticket online now but can't risk it as it's probably doubtful that it'll be early enough for me. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. lol. I would love to come to Warp 10 but don't know if I can afford it.......what with flights and hotel etc. Damn I hate living on this Rock. lol
  9. Yay...I'm at the Doubletree too so will hopefully meet a few of you there. Is there gonna be a party at this con? I read that sometimes there is but don't know if this has been confirmed or not yet. If not then does anyone wanna meet after the event and hang out? Oooooooooooooo.......it's getting closer and I'm getting sooooo soo excited !!!
  10. Yeah, I think my only option for a unique outfit would be to work on a base and add to it. I could possibly use some kind of fabric glue or something. Or maybe ask my aunt nicely if she could help if it wasn't too much work. Time to get hunting in the charity shops for possible items I can cannibalise into some kind of creation. lol. If anyone else has any idea's I'm very grateful. lol
  11. I would love to get involved with the Cosplay aspect of CM though I'm restricted with my size and the fact that I can't sew to save my life. lol I have loved dressing up ever since I was a kid. I try and talk friends into Fancy Dress for parties but have no takers. I adore Samhain (Halloween) and try and put together a really well thought-out and different costume to everyone else. I've been looking on ebay for costumes in larger sizes but aren't happy with the ones on there. I would love one that's that little bit different than anything you'd get in a shop. For Example...I love the idea of wearing Jadzia Dax's Wedding outfit. I wonder if that would be easy to make and whether I could talk my aunt into making it for me? Does anyone know of any costume designers/makers who I could contact. Ideally I can't spend more than £100 on it as I've spent a fortune on plane flights and the hotel as I'm coming from Jersey (Channel Island). Oh.....and I know you guys don't know me from Adam (who's Adam....oh yeah...that guy on Torchwood lol). But if anyone wants to store their clothes etc in my hotel room I can only assure you that I'm trustworthy and won't be filling my suitcase with everyone's gear (can you imagine the extra charges at the airport check-in) lmao Anyway....hope to get some advice from the pro's when it comes to Cosplay. Oh, and I'm going home on the Monday so couldn't join in this Masquerade whatever it is....but I'm just really wanting to dress up anyway. Plus it'll look good in my Klingon Photo-shoot. hehehe Love and Light, Star xx
  12. Hi all. About time I braved the 'Introduce yourself' thread. lol Right. I'm Carina, otherwise known as Star (or Star Jadzia). I'm 36 (8th March 74) and a Single Mum to two gorgeous kids. Cara is 16 yrs (August 93) and is a right teen. I'm already on the lookout for 'Twilight' and 'True Blood/Vampire Diaries' autos for her. My son Chayton is 7 yrs (October 02) and he was thrilled when I got Steve Blums auto and voice recording at CM15 (Big Ben Ten Fan....Chay not me...lol). I've vaguely introduced myself with pictures in CM16.......and can't wait to go. Oh yeah, more about me. lol. I live in the little island of Jersey (South of England, North of France)....which makes it a fair bit of travelling for me to attend any conventions. CM15 was my first and coincided with me being in London to see John Barrowman in 'La Cage'. Oh yeah, back to me...lol. I keep going off subject here lol. Haven't met many famous people at all, living on this rock. Big Fan of Sci-fi in general. Major Trekkie...adore all Stargate incarnations too. Must be loyal to all series' of your faves (though Spock was my face rather than Kirk). Doctor Who/Torchwood of course. Twilight and True Blood...not seen Vampire Diaries yet but that's next on the list (daughter has already started). StarWars....grew out of it, though I did have a few RofJ figures as a kid. My brain's gone a blank. lol Suffice to say, if it's Sci-fi and I've seen it, then changes are I love it. lol. Though never watched Babylon 5 or the newer incarnation of Battlestar. Not working at the moment. Am single and enjoying it. Most guys I know don't understand my obsession and laugh at the thought of paying for an autograph let alone purchasing a plane ticket to go get it. lol Am on a kinda spiritual path at the moment. Interested in learning more about various religions though I'm leaning towards Wicca. I do Reiki hands-on healing (I think I remember another Reiki member in this intro thread). Also love working with crystals for healing and meditating. I do Tarot readings and have been known to do Runic readings too. I'm mad about Native American's. My lounge looks like a shrine to them, full of dream-catchers and mandalla's etc. lol. Music wise...I'm a rocker at heart. Was well into my glam rock of the 80's......hair bands. Though I like a lot of different music....except rave or anything too dancey. Ok........can't think of anything else right now...so will leave you with this and feel free to ask me questions. lol. Love and Light, Star xx Can't wait to meet you all. I'm very friendly and wanna make alot of friends through here so that we can all party at CM16 (or indeed any other events I make it to)
  13. I know everyone already had their say on this thread but I didn't dare look for any tribute to Corey as I knew how upset I'd get....until now (Damnit...am crying already). I realise everyone is going to say they're the biggest Fan of 'The Lost Boys' and to all of us and our personal friends I'm sure we are. I have been nuts about the film since it was released and have been nicknamed Star pretty much since then. I drive my friends mad about the film....loads of friends said they thought about me when they heard the sad news. I have just cried my eyes out reading the tribute that described Screengeek's day with Corey at CM MK. Instead of getting all jealous etc I'm soooooo pleased for all you guys who met him and the other 'Lost Boys'. If only I'd heard of Collectormania back then. A friend from another website went to that event and met the guys and I was so jealous of her. Doctor Who......please take me back....hey, just take me back to 1987 and the filming in Santa Cruz. I'm not asking too much. lol Rest In Peace Corey !
  14. Thanks Mev and 1 of 2. 1 of 2...I'll probably end up ordering all the photo shoots online to be on the safe side. Thanks for the advice. I may well want to go to talks as well (didn't have time at CM15) so will have to be careful when sorting that out. How soon do they give us times for the talks and photo shoots? Mev... Hi fellow Bean (or honorary bean if you're not originally from here). I'm getting the Flybe flight on the friday to Luton (around 2pm) and coming back on the Monday from Luton too. We might be on the same flight. I think I have a friend picking me up from the airport and taking me to the stadium but she can't take me back to the airport so might be on the same coach. My friend who lives in MK says the Coach is a better idea than the train as it'll take you straight there rather than a change near London or something. John Barrowman......I was in the front row across to the left. My friend who came over from Guernsey got the first towel and a kiss from JB...cow. lol. We went to La Cage aux Folles together and I dragged her to CM15 which she loved almost as much as me I think. Of course I'm a Sci-fi freak so adored seeing George Takai though couldn't afford a pic. My fave there was Jason Momoa, also being a big StarGate Fan. Also enjoyed seeing Gareth (Ianto) and Kai (Rhys) from Torchwood...which was her highlight.
  15. Hi all. Well, I started with a teeny fib. I'm not a complete newbie as the London CM in Nov last year was my first. I was only there for a short time but loved it so much I've just booked a plane ticket for this one. I just wanted to get as much advice as possible since I'm having to travel from Jersey (Channel Island). I'm about to book into the hotel at the stadium as friends just told me they can't put me up, though they're picking me up from Luton. I'm a major Trekkie so of course I want photo's with all the Trek Actors. I'm wanting to know which I should pay for now and which would be safe to wait for 'till I'm there. I'm guessing Martok and Gowron are going to be a sellout so I'm already guessing you guys will suggest I buy that now. I see Kate Mulgrew is doing photos on the sat and sun. Are either days likely to overlap with one of the other's (Tim or Robert)? Would you suggest I book in for Tim and Robert on the saturday and then the Klingon shoot and Kate on the sunday? I would love to meet up with some of you regulars as London last year was a last minute thing and I didn't have a chance to organise anything. Here's a couple of pics from last year so that you guys will recognise me. lol Me and Jason Momoa at Collectormania... Me and Burn Gorman....he was three rows behind me at La Cage aux Folles on the friday... Me and John Barrowman when he came to Jersey for his last show from his tour last year in August...
  16. I'm coming from Jersey (Channel Islands, UK) and am soooooo excited. I've never been to a convention ever before and can't wait. But I'm petrified because I've never travelled on my own before. I'm 35 years old and am as nervous as a child. lol. So if anyone can suggest anything that might help me at my first ever convention then please let me know. I've read alot of posts in this forum and have found it very helpful. Too Tall seems a very informative person and I hope that if I have any problems I can speak to someone from the Crew as has been mentioned quite often. Great Forum Guys. I hope to make it to both days and hope to see some of you guys there. If you spot a rather nervous overweight girl with long black hair (and red streaks) and tattoos then please come and say hello. lol Love and Light, Star xx
