Umm I'm the one who told you off: if you'd asked for his website details I would have loaned you a pen and given you a piece of paper. Why make me look like the big bad when what you actually asked for were his contact details so you could talk to him about coming to another event, albeit one for charity. That is not allowed, and if you recall, i directed you to ask at our organisers booth for permission to approach one of the guests. If they had allowed it, again I'd have loaned you the pen and given you the paper to write it down on. oh and to all those wondering what was in Craig's drinks all day,,,, absolutely nothing other than COFFEE honestly!

Sarah - well you are obviously very upset by our reaction to your sandwHices delivery... but could you be any more condescending!

Sorry, but speaking with my guest assistant hat on, children getting autographs still pay. If a child approaches with a 10x8 or an autograph book, dvd or whatever to get signed then they will have to pay the full autograph price, they don't qualify for freebies. If they did then Showmasters would end up not selling any autographs at all, but would see a big line of "rental children" outside every event. It's not any of us being "cold hearted" but how many three or four year olds actually want a signed 10x8, but you can bet that mum and dad do. I say this as a mum myself - only last year at the age of 12 did my oldest actually want autographs for himself from the Dr Who cast, until then it was always me collecting them for him.

I think it has do with they are great guests, and so many were disapointed when Danny's filming meant he arrived so late at C12. ~This gives people another chance to meet them. -

I was the guest assitant with Erick on Sunday and he did not have a no posed photos rule at all. He was more than happy to pose with anyone. I do not know what happened on Saturday but I do know he had been very busy hence on Sunday, we put the lovely Hannah out front on camera duty so as to keep the flow moving and allow photos. We do try and react to situations if we have an opportunity.

Thanks Stuart. I think you do a great job organising all our jobs and always try and understand it must be difficult at times. It also can't be easy when so many of turn up late and I hold my hands up and apologise for making our car load late on Sunday morning... I didn't quite realise how long it would take me to hobble round the doors that morning.

Guest Cancellation Jacqueline McKenzie
madmonster* replied to showmasters's topic in Collectormania MK
we were happy to pay towards the flights costs but that was not an option give to us and as the event was over i did not see any harm in have the guest attend CM12 well thats what i was thinking jason its not like they were announced before that event and thus stopping people going My thoughts exactly, just how many people were stopped from seeing this guest at the other event because they were attending the SM event... Answer: absolutely none. chances of this guest returning to work with other event organiser who has thrown his toys out of the pram... Answer: Absolutey none. Who has won: Absolutely no-one! -
How was your Buzz Aldrin Experience?
madmonster* replied to dijon1322's topic in Previous Autographica's
He wasn't upset. He was tired and jet lagged having only arrived on Saturday morning from America. On Sunday something he'd eaten (probably) had given him a bad case of sickness and he took to his bed in the late afternoon. -
Pouts... I want Jola time

I started by going to conventions rather than signing events, luckily for me they were run by a certain scottish gentleman who now works for these guys. It was intimidating going on my own, especially as I was travelling miles to get there as well and I really did think I'd spend the whole weekend walking around bored or sitting at the back in the talks and the evening in my room watching tv, as there was NO WAY I was going to go into the party alone or the bar. How wrong was I....I'd made friends before I even had my registration pack, chatting to someone checking into the hotel. All it takes is that little bit of effort to smile and say hello and suddenly you realise that most of us start out at these things alone. I'm now part of the biggest family, I'm completely and totally addicted and never alone at these things. Some of the people who I've met at conventions have become my best friends, and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad time, been bored, or nervous since I parked my car the first time. Conventions are by the nature of the beast very different from signing events. Everyone mingles, everyone chats and they are far more relaxed. Most people meet in queues, so enjoy them as a chance to chat, rather than as a boring long wait. The person behind you or infront of you in the queue is going to all the same guests as you and you will be following them around for a few hours, so get chatting. As they are held in a hotel, it is easy to sit around chilling out while waiting for the next thing to happen and you won't find the frantic pushing for VQ's or the early morning queuing to get into the building that you do with signing events. If you're lost or feeling friendless chat to the crew, remember they were once new to this too and really do know what it's like to be alone, nervous or unsure of etiquette. The crew are normally always willing to talk as well, they like meeting new people as much as anyone else. Fingers crossed, I will be there, whether as crew as or an attendee and I certainly would be happy to chat to anyone, it's one of the main reasons I love crewing so much. Just remember the first rule of a convention is have fun and the second rule is to pack antiperspirant and use it! :) Dawn

well i went Bionic Woman.. Then we can also get Battlestar G in one swoop, with Katee, Mark Shepherd and Aaron Douglas. It's also a new show so the actors should be keen to promote it! -
