I always go on my own, and it can be really nice chatting to random people in queues - you can meet some really interesting people that you wouldn't necessarily meet if you just hung around with friends. Don't worry - you'll have a great time!

Richard Dean Anderson would be my choice - although that is really out of the question......anyone from SG1 or SG Atlantis would make me happy..... But yes, it's already a good line up even if no one else comes in

Oxford for me too. I work there - we have the sites, the entries that Tolkien wrote for the Oxford English Dictionary for his characters, and yeah, the Eagle & Child for those literary peeps who want to see where the Inklings whiled away the hours. Tolkien's Oxford can be found at http://users.ox.ac.uk/~tolksoc/TolkiensOxford/ (including the Trees!) Although, to be fair, Oxford (despite being far nicer than Birmingham) is a nightmare to get to/park in and there are already way too many many tourists!!! Have it in Brum for the sake of space!

Does anyone know if the autograph packs are duplicated? I had the Stargate one at GMex, but wouldn't want to choose that again if the autos are going to be exactly the same?

I do, from an SG convention in Vancouver a few years ago....it was my Holy Grail...the guy is a legend!! He just turned up unannounced and caused chaos! You a SG fan then?

I had 5 Stargate autos in the pack. And obviously I got the two whilst I was there, which means now I only need Joe Flanighan from SGAtlantis and Gen Hammond from SG1 - and he is at LFACC! Whoo! (well, in terms of biggies, there are others out there I'm sure...) Hmm, rings a bell, but I couldn't put a face to you I'm afraid!

I don't think I met you, but I had a gold pass and found it really useful. Mainly because I couldn't stay all that long and it was nice just being able to join the end of the queues for Shanks/Judge/Serkis. Not too sure about the goody bags - I'm fairly sure I could have picked up Nobby's Nuts from the newsagents across the road!! The Stargate Autos were good though (Nemec and Luttrell amongst others), and there were some nice photos etc in the Showmasters bag. Had a great day though!

Go to the one at Sainsburys, sort of opposite of the centre and then do a right. The one in the Gmex charges £1.65 a go....

They certainly were - all of them seemed very friendly. Stanislav was particularly sweet!

I thought it was excellent - far easier to wander around than MK!! I was lucky enough to get a posed shot with Michael Shanks before his little notice went up (yay for the Gold Pass getting me there first thing!!). I thought the guests were all great and didn't feel rushed at all. Well done Showmasters for making this first Gmex visit a good one (not that I have any plans to head up to Manchester again!!)

Hey there, Has anyone ever got one of those gold passes? I thought about it, just to make sure I get to see everyone I want to, and the goody bags are kinda appealing. But isn't £175 a bit pricey? Any advice on whether its a good idea or not? Dr J.
