  8. Hi Jess, is this timetable still up to date as of today ?

  10. From past experience attending and working events at the Hilton, if you have a car I would recommend eating at the Toby Carvery at this address link http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/stonebridgeislandmeriden/- it is only a 5-10 minute drive from the Hilton. By taxi it is £5.00 each way the last time I used it. At the weekend the Wetherspoons in the NEC is often closed. Don't rely on this being open. If you don't have a car, as you are disabled I fully recommend taken advantage of the free courtesy bus at the hotel that runs every half hour and drives to the railway station/airport area. Once into the building - take a left at the top of the lift or escalators and then take the free monorail to the airport Immediately at the other end you have a Burger King / Frankie & Bennys / a boots if you want sandwiches/drinks etc. See here for more information http://www.birmingham-airport-guide.co.uk/bars-restaurants.html Alternatively on arriving on the courtesy bus, there is a subway that is open at the weekend and this is at the top of the lift/escalators and turn right (as if you are heading to the railway station) The courtesy bus journey is approximately 10 mins in each direction. If you are a slow walker I would definitely say you'd need to allow for more than an hour out of your day for this so wouldn't recommend it until after the photos/autos/talks have finished for say an evening meal etc. Hope this helps.
  11. Denis Law was an absolutely lovely gentleman :)
  12. If you prefer to pay for autographs with credit/bank card, there is the option to do this at the sales table (the same one as where the photoshoot tickets are sold). They will then issue you with gift vouchers to present at the guests table. Each guest will have a crew member (usually with a blue tshirt) next to them. Any queue will usually be done with you approaching the crew member first. Sometimes there maybe quieter chances to have a selfie with a guest at the same time as you have your autograph, but please be aware of any no posed or no photograph signs around their tables. All the prices are listed on one of the fixed threads on here. Usually a schedule for photoshoot times is listed on here as close to the event as possible. However, do look out for the schedules at the event itself as timings can change at rare occasions on the day. Milton Keynes is ideal for a starter event as it's free entry :) If you need a cashpoint the nearest one is at Asda, but that can empty during an event weekend.
  13. Danny's correct in that there are a number of disabled bays around the gate 5 area and a few more if I'm not mistaken around towards the left of the Hilton Doubletree entrance. It's also the closest place to park for the entrance to the arena. I've tried to google an aerial shot for you, but unfortunately the only ones are when the stadium was still a bit of a building site around it
  14. Smidge - it might be worth editing or deleting your comment about collecting tickets as some users might not read that far and not realise it's been changed to first come first served It's worth noting that you won't be able to queue for a talk until the previous talk is let into the room.
  15. I've only just been pointed to this Shame, I have met George before but I was excited to see him again. I guess I cursed myself when I ordered his book The Last British Dambuster on Saturday night ready to be delivered so I could have it signed at the show.
  16. The biggest queue I saw on the concourse on Saturday was for the cashpoint
  17. Did you see the Star Wars Walker on the concourse on Saturday ? It was amazing They must have spent so much time on that costume and moving around so slowly within the same area.
  18. It does surprise me how often people think it's because the guest is being rude or particular, but there are often health reasons. Moving and/or positioning over a desk is awkward when it's being asked for regularly. Having headache triggers is impossible - and there are guests who have been fine one day but feel unwell the next. I have bad hips/back and on the occasions I've been asked to stand up and down throughout a day to take photos for a guest I can empathise totally with why they can't do that plus signing the next day. It certainly messes me up. Even if a guest has agreed to do an official photoshoot they know they can psych themselves up that it's for a certain amount of time and that the photographer can set the lighting if needed. Then it's the one time it only takes place during the day and they are done and comfortable. The problem I find is when people see the "no posed photo signs" think oh I'll ask anyway and the guest feels put on the spot. Sometimes they don't feel able to say no. If I was a guest with my health I'd be one of those that would have no choice but to have the sign up. Then I guess I'd be deemed as being grumpy.
  19. I've combined together the guest pictures, prices and schedule as of this morning that I will be using myself. It might be handy for other attendees too :) Can be doublesided printed. Note: David Prowse's photoshoot times will be announced at the show. 20. Whatever budget I have in mind usually gets squished and prodded, changed and expanded the minute I see guests I hadn't thought about having a photo or auto with. I try not to carry too much cash where possible and use the sales desk with my bank card to buy the show vouchers that can be used instead of cash for autographs. Whilst I do take a portion of cash I always try not to carry too much. After losing my purse the other year when travelling it makes me a bit nervous.
  21. I'm not crewing this event but I have created a printable schedule that's up to date as of 3pm today. It could be useful for your planning and is possible for a double sided print onto one sheet of A4. Do note that obviously the schedule is subject to change and you should check this against what is happening on the day. Photo studios and stage areas generally have the printed schedule outside them. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5WymNp89_rec2NkOHBaZXN2S2M/edit?usp=sharing
  22. If there is a cash desk for a signer when the crew member asks if you want your item personalised they will write your name on the back of the autograph slip ready to give to the guest to use. So many names can be spelt differently and it's the one thing that the guests are having to write extra everytime. Bless them, it's so many to get through :) It's such a simple thing and works. However, I was surprised how many attendees still came down to the guest only seconds after being at the cashdesk and saying "no" when we were then writing it on a scrap piece of paper to ensure the spelling. My suggestion would be if you are bringing your own item and want it personalised, make sure you have a post-it with you. It's great for taking from person to person. I've done this myself lots of times :) That being said I have a great unique item where Zach Levi signed best wishes twice and we both nearly didn't realise he hadn't written his signature.
  23. The crew will organise that :) It is possible that depending how many people have come early to get Stan prior between 11ish and 3 would mean the queue for the Brompton Hall that Stan's in will have reduced and those people that have been in already will then queue for the usual building (outside queue splits) http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84929 (inside rough layout) http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84943
