  1. Great guy - met him at Autographica and also outside the play God of Carnage last week (he was visiting Ralph Fiennes). He didnt mention that he was doing LFaCC!
  2. VQ @ 10am, Mr M arriving at 1am. That's a long wait....
  3. As far as I know Christopher Lee isn't a knight, but (in the words of Morecambe and Wise) he's a late afternoon and that's good enough for me!
  4. I'd like to add some comments but on a slightly different tack - I (and many of the autograph collecting friends I have) get our own items signed. I'm less than happy at having to pay the same amount for these as people who get the photos provided signed (I can't believe they are "free" - they are paid for at some point in the system by showmasters from the money they take from the autographs, photo sessions etc). The upshot of the showmasterisation of autograph collecting is that almost every other con has gone down this route. Additionally, we (me and the group of friends) would like the opportunity to do deals with actors to get multiple items signed, but these never exist at showmaster cons.
  5. Terry Nation have Anneke Wills down as an autographica guest...
  6. Kenny's in a hospital just round the corner from me. Apparently his son was told that he could have easily died as a result of his medical condition last week, so he's proved strong enough to get this far.
  7. No: http://www.tenthplanet.co.uk/terrynation/guests.html
  8. David Nobbs John Cleese Terry Jones Michael Palin Tim Brooke-Taylor Ian Davidson John Sullivan David Renwick Madeline Smith Georgie Fame Sue Lloyd Claire Nielson Dilys Watling Diane Keen Rikki Howard Wanda Ventham Josephine Tewson Vicki Michelle Ann Michelle Barbara Dickson
  9. I had a mail through from Autographica last week and it said that Richard Todd was still subject to confirmation.
  10. Good news - both in terms of the opportunity to meet him again, and also in terms of him being well enough to attend. I'd heard that he wasn;t all that well, so it's good to hear that he's OK to attend the event. One of my prized items is a British War DVD box set signed by him, Sir John Mills, Donald Sinden and Sylvia Syms.
  11. She is attending a private event at Pinewood Studios to celebrate Goldfinger the week before Autographica.
  12. Some comments - Russell Tovey is in a play in the West End. He's up for appearing at a convention (I've asked him), but clearly his play commitments at the moment will probably negate an appearance in Manchester. Autograph collectors who are local to Manchester are likely to have met the Corrie people at the studios. And the people who paid for Allo Allo and Bill people wont necessarily be the same sort of people who will pay for Corrie guests. I would pay for (some) Allo Allo guests, but not for Corrie or Bill guests, because neither shows interest me.
  13. A member is a different thing from a Registered Dealer.
  14. Fantastic news - he did a lot of great films and TV shows in the late fifties and early sixties.
  15. Cool! What was he like? He was very pleasant - he signed my autograph book
  16. It was quite obvious that once the US writers' strike was sorted, the "big" American guests would start dropping away - they have to get back to their day jobs now.
  17. I met him at the Royal Court theatre the day after his Jonathan Ross interview was shown.
  18. Oh yes - very pleased with this. Marvellous! I need to find someone in the US to buy me the Man from UNCLE box set!
  19. Interesting guest - he's done a lot of stuff, but I'm not sure he'll be that busy as he's not really a "name". I've met him before and he's a lovely guy.
  20. He's touring in a play at the moment so dont expect him to be there any other day than Sunday.
  21. You may be able to get a train direct from the airport to Manchester Deansgate station (they do run occasionally) - then it's a quick walk across the Exhibition bridge, over the platforms of GMex station, and straight into GMex. Failing that there will certainly be a direct train from the Airport to Oxford Road, and then it's a 5 minute walk to GMex down Oxford Road.
  22. For me coming down from Manchester, Birmingham will be easier than London, which was about as difficult to get to as Northampton.
  23. Not to mention Waterloo and The Battle of Britian (the films not the real battles!) Could be difficult as he doesnt have anything to do with Corrie anymore. Chances are he wouldnt sign Corrie items, though it might be different if he was being paid to do it. He's currently touring and has not been signing Corrie books at stage doors.
  24. If he didnt want the money he wouldnt be charging £25 for an autograph.
  25. I'm guessing she will only be doing Sunday (possible Sat AM at a push) as she's just about to start a play at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. For the record T Bag was something that my generation grew up with - probably as big a part of the lives of people my age as Buffy / Lost / Heroes is to people born more recently.
