  1. How about this guy as an ultimate in Bond guests??? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000290/
  2. Kiwi, don't mean to be rude - do you mind if I ask how old you are? You look very young yet seem to be really into classic films and genres - you've obviously been well educated ;-)
  3. I think we need to remember the variety that Hurt brings as well. There are not many actors who attend these events with the kind of CV that John can put forward. He's worked with some of the REAL greats of British theatrical/cinematic history - Anthony Hopkins, John Gielgud, Richard Burton, Laurence Olivier, etc, etc, etc... I saw a comment from someone saying that "you can't consider John Hurt as a lead actor (with the exception of the Elephant Man)" - What utter poppycock. He's had several lead roles - just maybe not in films that you'd class as Hollywood blockbusters, but certainly cult classics in their own right. John Hurt is a legend and it probably the single most impressive guest that SM have announced for this event to date.
  4. This thread is very reminiscent of the Bill Nighy one from last year. I have to say though that I couldn't give a flying f*ck when Nighy cancelled, but I will be mightily disappointed if Hurt follows suit. For anyone who doesn't believe the man is a legend just watch his performance in The Elephant Man - absolutely sublime. I'm probably going to get something Watership Down related signed as well, in the hope that maybe one day SM will bring Richard Briers along to an event.
  5. The Elephant Man is superb. An absolutely pleasureing great announcement!!!
  6. SM aren't working in another time zone at the moment are they?
  7. Indeed. I think Ford's a no go, sadly. Good call on Ed Norton whoever it was that made that suggestion, though I still think from SM's original post that it's going to be someone who is not specific to one particular franchise or another. Still, we'll not need to guess any more in 20 minutes or so...
  8. That's bad luck (though some on here may say it's ironic!!)...
  9. Yeah. I suppose someone was bound to say that at some stage. It wouldnt be a traditional big guest announcment otherwise... God, nicky, you are such an annoyance on these forums. Always poking your nose in where it's not wanted with your pathetic avatar. Go away will you! It's like raaaaaaaaain on your wedding day ...... That's just pleasureing bad luck... But that's an entirely different argument to be had.
  10. I'm hoping this is someone who spans across several franchises - SM's original post suggests that most people should be happy with it. Can I hazard a guess at someone like: Christopher Lee - Bond, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Horror, Cult Classics, etc, etc. Sean Bean - Bond, LOTR, etc But my actual guess is Robbie Coltraine. He's pretty huge and I don't think anyone would be upset at having the chance to meet him! Yeah. I suppose someone was bound to say that at some stage. It wouldnt be a traditional big guest announcment otherwise... God, nicky, you are such an annoyance on these forums. Always poking your nose in where it's not wanted with your pathetic avatar. Go away will you!
  11. I suppose you are right. For the record, I did meet Tony and he was in splendid form.
  12. Barrie had one BTGMD image that was one that he's obviously comissioned. There were no stills or decent quality photos there though which I was told on Saturday was due to Disney copywriting it all. I'll have to hope he does another one in the future and get myself prepared for it. As it was he was a rather late announcement on this forum I think so I didn't get the chance to get anything in in time.
  13. No disrespect to either Tony or Showmasters (or the Autographica guys for that matter), but I saw some of the photos and Tony really didn't look too happy in any of them. I don't get the thinking behind having a photo with him anyway - I mean - and again, no disrespect to anyone - he really doesn't look like the recognisable Tony Curtis from the movies any longer. It's not exactly the sort of photo you could display on your mantelpiece with pride (again - only my opinion and no disrespect meant to absolutely anybody that it concerns). I just don't get it and I'm sharing my thoughts on the forum.
