There's literally several takeaway places, a subway, mcdonalds, an all you can eat chinese buffet place, all nearby the Park Inn, and when I say nearby you're talking about 5 mins walk or so. In fact, if you're not staying at the Park inn, you pass several of the places on route to the Park Inn !

You're welcome, I would point out as well, that there are normally crew around outside monitoring the Q at most of the events I've been to, so just keep an eye out for them .

I can't answer why there are no tickets available in the online store. But may I suggest that if you see a crew member when you arrive, make yourselves known to them, and they will do their best to assist you. They should be able to either supply a seat, or possibly take your entry money there and then, and show some discretion in your case. Showmasters have always made it very clear that they will do their best to accommodate those with a disability, so long as you the attendee make yourself known to them on the day itself. I believe this also applies if you or your sister have any photoshoots planned. I would guess a moderator should be able to confirm the above or advise accordingly if they see this thread. Hope this assists you a bit.

Said in several posts recently to have a little faith in SM... I think this proves it somewhat, the first overseas guest announced I believe. I suspect I know one person who'll likely find something for him to sign...... So a nice guest indeed here !!

Thought I'd bump certain threads back up a bit , so that people see them, maybe it could be pinned please?

Could a moderator not send a message back up the chain, saying we're wondering what's going on? Even if SM posted saying they've not forgotten about us all up North !! It's less than a month till the event , and there's a con yet to be run before Glasgow. I know enough to know there's post event paperwork etc to be done as well as catch up on that thing called sleep , so I don't really need to get the standard moderator replies of Contact them directly or They're working on another event before hand I am paraphrasing here, but you get the drift I also remember that PDF flyers were produced to allow us to distribute accordingly .....

Autograph tickets are not sold online, however to help attendees budget, there is a thread here on the forums, normally titled guest days and prices. This does what it says, tells you on which days the guests are attending, and how much per autograph they are. It's not done online, I think due to the behind the scenes admin, and some nefarious people, would probably try and copy the vouchers. Guests that are maybe just recently announced, may not have things like photoshoots arranged yet, Just keep watching the forums, as SM will update the guest days and prices thread, as well as the photoshoots thread. These are normally stickied on the forums. Hope this helps

For anyone who is affected by this, and is likely to be having to get a connecting train or flight somewhere, a word of advice. You want to be back at MK train station at least 30 mins if not more before your time of travel on your train tickets. Cause there WILL be queues for the coaches, and all it'd take for is for you to be told the coaches are full, and you'll have to wait till the next one. Friends and I were affected by such a thing on a Monday of a previous MK event, and we had to get a coach to Northampton to then connect with a train , which then meant we had to get bumped to later trains home to our respective destinations. So I'd def suggest you plan to be at the train station for at least 30 mins before your train. Definetly do NOT plan just to arrive for the time on your ticket , or whatever the website says. Think of it this way, how many attendees of Collectormania will be travelling home on the sunday evening....

I would suspect this topic would be amended , and the subtitle would read " updated x date " as that's been done before, It won't just be buried away as a reply in this thread if that's what you're meaning? Think of it the same way they update the guest days and prices thread.

I'm disappointed yes, as I had planned to meet Tom at C16, but it's not the end of the world, things can happen affecting things like this. You've got to remember that our hobby is a fluid one, and guests can be cancelled and announced at the drop of a hat. Though in saying that SM, any chance of Tom at one of the many ( ) events later in the year ? Most other guests that have cancelled C16 have been announced for another one, so please make this happen with Tom.

I've met Patrick Stewart twice now, and never found him that way. For whatever reason, he's agreed to do photos at the event. I can understand him like others not maybe not wishing to have photos taken before or after when he's in theatre.

Not that Lizzy is neurotic or paranoid in anyway, about wanting to get her hands on a prized Patrick Photoshoot ticket !!!!!

WOAH, what an announcement . To Those working on the photoshoot section , I would like you to know that you have my sincerest sympathy, in dealing with the Q's etc !!!

When Beatie Edney attended Collectormania , I bought and got the scabbard signed by her. I had to clear it with the pit boss, and at that time, I ended up having that whole section where she was closed off, and under NO circumstances was I allowed at the desk while she signed it. I was allowed to watch from where they'd roped the area off . I was not even allowed to go up to the desk either. Which given what it was, was totally and utterly understandable. I was then allowed to go up and meet her as normal , while the pit bossof that section ( and not a normal crew member ) looked after the sword in it's case. But that was back then, these days now, I'm not so sure given the laws about weapons, what the policy would be on a sword itself being signed.

To be honest I've no idea if the braehead site gets many hits, it was just a thought I had at the time. But surely if they knew that they could promote all the facilities and shops within the centre to those that visit the event, that can only be a good thing for the centre as a whole ?

I'll add my support for any call for Tanya Roberts to attend an event, and would certainly meet Marc Singer again !

err Folks this thread was started to generate ideas for the event itself, as in how to promote it etc , the original poster started it because another thread got derailed, which is what is starting to happen here. So an idea for promotion could be for SM to speak to whomever does the Braehead Shopping centre website, and see if maybe a semi regular post could go in the news & events section ? Maybe some crosspromotion could be arranged here, that if they were to agree to this, then maybe SM would put a link to the braehead on the CM Glasgow website ? Not sure what else could be done that others have not already suggested.

I was there too. All I have to say is SMILEYS Shakes all over, and relieved I discovered Showmasters...

Can't remember the actual order, but the first guests I met at C8 were the Buck Rogers cast, along with Erika Eleniak and Sandra Taylor. The very first guest I ever met was Erica Durance elsewhere.

Don't encourage Crippsy_99 , you'll only make him worse lol He's just relieved that it wasn't someone announced that would make him part with yet more money lol Twilight's not one for me, but I do know someone that will be very happy with the announcement. What I would say is, that most of the time , a post saying a guest would be announced on a certain day / time was one that you could count on as being a very rare never to be repeated guest, or someone quite rare , who MAY come back at some point in time, examples are Bruce Campbell, Scott Bakula and Christopher Lloyd spring to mind. Have to admit that announcing this way someone who has previously attended Showmasters run cons did come as a surprise to me. To a certain extent, Showmasters are a victim of their own success in getting us some of the names mentioned above, so I think a lot of people were expecting a really surprising guest that has either not done a UK event or maybe even not done an event. I'll still attend, as want to meet Linda Hamilton again !!!
