  1. At Hallowhedon, they had photo ops going in 2 different rooms at the same time. So, you bop back and forth between rm A and rm B. When you go is determined by your ticket number. Haven't been to the Radisson before. Hopefully the rooms will be close together. It was quite a hike to the autograph room at the Birmingham Hilton!
  2. How close to the hotel is the bus stop? I'm on crutches so I'd prefer to keep walking to a minimum, especially when pulling a suitcase. :) On the other hand, I'll be starting out at the Heathrow terminal 123 station, so maybe the better question is, how far from there to a terminal where the hoppa picks up? Hmmm... Anyone know which would be the shortest distance?
  3. Will those of us in the US be getting our registration letters in the mail, or do we pick them up at registration? Several of us are flying in early, for sightseeing. If we don't receive our letters, what do we need in order to register when we get there? Thanks!
  4. When will we be able to purchase the group photo, and other autos and photos? Can we do it at registration or will there be another specified time? Can we pay by credit card? Thanks!
  5. I've got a spare bed, if you want to share and split the cost! The person who was interested has gone MIA on me. Email me at nakedwesley@gmail.com if you're interested. :)
  6. Bumping this up, in case there is still someone looking to share a room. I haven't heard back from the person who was interested. So...anyone out there still need a room, and want to share mine?
  7. I'm also going solo and don't know anyone. Would love someone to chat/hang out with. Do you have a roommate yet? I'm looking for someone to split room costs also. Email me at nakedwesley@gmail.com if you want to chat. I'm a long time Alexis fan. How about yourself?
  8. I'm looking for a roomie! Still need to book flights but plan to fly in Friday morning and leave Monday. Feel free to email me at nakedwesley@gmail.com if interested or know anyone who is.
  9. Would love to meet Clark Gregg, from both The Avengers and Much Ado!
  10. I have never seen Alexis be anything but generous and friendly with fans. He's quiet, and maybe a little shy, but I've met him a few times and he was always wonderful. I'm very excited to see him again after all this time!!
  11. For those of us overseas, will we also get registration letters, or will we get a confirmation email to bring in with us to the desk? I can't remember how it worked last year.
  12. The hotel website says this: Due to major security measures currently in force at Birmingham International Airport, we are no longer permitted to use our courtesy bus service direct from the airport. All clients travelling from Birmingham International Airport should take the mono rail to Birmingham International railway station where we will be able to collect. Guests can use the free telephones in the airport or the station to ask for the bus to collect them. The journey takes around 5 minutes and our courtesy bus runs every 30 minutes. So maybe there is a shuttle bus after all. Just not directly from the airport. I'm curious if anyone can confirm this.
  13. I, for one, would love the idea of having some bar stools around. Last year, they had low chairs available, and I needed one. Felt a bit silly being so low, while everyone else was standing up. Having a higher chair, I would be able to interact with everyone a whole lot better. I think if there were some stools to the side, most people wouldn't feel the need for them, but those that did, could put them to good use.
  14. Yeah I thought that was a bit odd.....no Daniel amongst the rest of SG-1.....ok if the others are coming and Michael isn't..but if they aren't then why isn't Daniel on there too?.... Well, technically, since Michael did the voice of Thor, he's on the poster...
  15. From the first post. Wow, how weird that I did not see that line at all when I read that post (more than once). Guess I was too excited. Since I wasn't sure at the time I purchased, I did remark I'd prefer shipping but could pick up, and included my con ticket order #, so hopefully you made sense of it all. I feel stupid now.
  16. This could refer to Malcolm, or another photographer who will be much closer to the location of Richard before he travels to the UK. The latter seems more likely to me. I suspect that it's more cost effective use someone who is local rather than 'shipping' out Malcolm. The photographer is "ready to take a set of photos...when Richard arrives in the UK" - from whence do you get the impression that the photos will be taken outside this country? It reads to me that RDA will be arriving in the UK the week before the con, will be photographed then (In the UK), and the prints made (and signed) in the week leading up to the con. That's how I read it too. There should be time prior to Chevron to do the photos. Edit: Sorry, I have had to make a minor edit as it was too much info for Google. Other search engines are available.
  17. I would prefer the picture be mailed to me, but I'm in the US. Is that still an option or would I be required to pick it up at the event?
  18. Sounds cool! Since they will only be available at this event, I'm assuming you have to have a con ticket in order to purchase the photo? Will we pick them up at the con when we get there?
  19. Ah, see I've only been to Chevron 7.2 and 7.4, which both had a good mix from both/all 3 shows. I assumed they were all that way. No worries! The idea of having an all medical photo op is cute. Imagine if anyone was ever able to get RDA, Ben Browder and Joe Flanigan together. Now THAT'S a photo op! (I would, of course, miss it, as I'd been in a dead faint from excitement by then. )
  20. I know everyone's stoked for an all SG-1 event, but I'd still like to see someone from Atlantis, as that's my show. Not that the prospect of meeting RDA isn't awesome, but if they were planning to have SG-1 only, I wish they'd announced it that way at the beginning.
  21. Thanks for all your advise, everyone! Hope to see you there!
  22. Coming from the US, my only (affordable) option is to fly into Heathrow, then somehow make it to Birmingham. I'm assuming I will fly into T5. Has anyone here made that trip? Having researched train vs. bus, the bus looks like my more viable option right now. It's cheaper, and there are more return options available. I don't mind the bus, but I'm not sure how to get from the Birmingham coach station to the hotel. Or, should I consider taking the tube into London, and taking a train from a different station that might give me more options? I'm flying in around 11am on Friday and my flight home is Monday at 11am. Is anyone driving up from London that I might be able to catch a ride with, or also taking the bus on Friday? Is there another travel option I'm unaware of, that doesn't require a great deal of walking and/or dragging luggage around? As long as I'm at the con hotel in time to register and attend the drinks reception, and back at Heathrow on Monday by 830am, I'm good. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! Last year I drove w/friends, so I didn't have to go through all this.
