  1. Posed photos are good but they are quite expensive, whereas many nice guests will let you get a quick snap for free (esp. on a Fri or Mon when queues aren't so long). I'm not sure there's enough room really in Milton Keynes shopping centre unless they stuck a guest at the end of one of the corridors away from the stalls/signings and I'm not sure they'd like to be so far from the action. But it might be good for someone like James Marsters... would give him a break from signing and the 2 seperate queues might mean more ppl meet him
  2. When I was little, as we didn't really get pocket money we used to give the crappiest presents (ice cream tubs filled with cotton wool and a few packs of Minstrels etc) :) Once I gave a picture of Father Ted stuck it on a psychadelic felt-tipped background. Last yr we tried to revive the tradition... painted some cardboard tubes like mad swirly binoculars and glued a pic of my sis at the end, so when she looked down it she'd see herself. I'm not sure she was overly impressed!! My boss did well with this year's Secret Santa at the office. He went round scavenging from people's desks so his 'victim' received a 2 wk old Private Eye, free pen, copy of Mortgage Introducer, some Post-Its, a few toffee pennies and an air freshener. (they did get a sensible present as well, don't worry)
  3. -Get up about 7am (hey, this is pretty early on a non-work day!) -Open presents while giggling -Argue with two sisters over what DVD to watch/CD to listen to -Eat an entire tub of Twiglets -Sister always reads out the fact on a cracker and says 'I don't get it' because she thinks it's the joke side -Go round friend's house... his parents are drunk and incapable by about lunchtime OR go to pub and put Morrissey on the jukebox... merry Xmas all!!
  4. Howdy guys, booked my hotel earlier. If people are by themselves and really concerned about budget (rooms can be quite expensive when you're a lonely bod) then at the moment Travelodge http://www.travelodge.co.uk/ are doing some rooms for £26 a night. Before you all rush and book I don't think any are available in central Manchester, but I got one in nearby Ashton under Lyne (not far from train station then 15/20 min to Manchester Piccadilly... about 10 miles) for the offer price. So if you don't mind a little extra train travel, it's worth a look. *love from the travelodge promotion team - kidding lol*
  5. Someone let me know if this is any good and I might take another weekend out in Cardiff to have a look see. I went to the Brighton exhibition but as the series wasn't over at the time they hadn't put half the props out Plus we had to pay for admission. Filming AND free exhibitions - you Welsh have it good! xx

Never tried, but I like eating fishcakes. The person below... is wearing odd socks
  22. I went to see this in the spring, and I just looked again and it closes on Nov 6th. I remember it was mainly stuff from the new series (just a brief description on each Doctor, then exhibits/props from the new one) but when I went they hadn't finished building it as they were putting stuff out after the relevant episode had been shown. also the gift shop was crap :) lol. but Brighton is beautiful and it's worth a look if you're in the area. http://www.doctorwhoexhibitions.co.uk/exhibition/about.html
