It would be really cool if a significant number of forum members/attendees at SM events were to decide to turn up in LOTR costumes. I'm sure lots of you do. We need to keep the interest in Rings alive or watch it slowly fade unto commercial death. That would be terrible. How many, approximately, will be doing LOTR at C8? As many of you may already know I hope to show up as a (female) Elf myself at some point in the near future - G-MEX almost certainly - as long as others will be there in LOTR garb. Love, Pauline XX

Listen guys I can't make the Christmas meal - spent cash I couldn't really spare on beautiful LOTR costumes and couldn't send deposit cheque in time - but if anyone is going to MK to meet up and go for a drink AFTER the meal AND has a hotel room they'd be willing to share (and split costs, of course) then maybe we can sort something out. As for premieres, I will be traipsing from Peterborough to London for the ELIZABETHTOWN bash, in the desperate and probably forlorn hope of getting close enough to Orlando for a real smile or - unthinkable joy - a brief touch and maybe even an autograph. I'd love to meet actor John Fraser, in his day the most beautiful Scotsman around. He starred in Roman Polanski's REPULSION, played the gorgeous bagpiper in TUNES OF GLORY and led Peter Finch's Oscar to ruin as Bosie in THE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE. If you like pretty, take a look at John in the '60s. Dear God but he was beautiful. I recently read his autobiography, CLOSE UP. Fantastic. Especially the stuff about J and Rudi Nureyev... Simon Templeman would be a great choice if able and willing to appear. He is a superb voice-over artist as well as an actor. (Some of you may remember him from ANGEL (Pavayne) and CHARMED). Any chance of booking ST for C8 or a future con? My son would be so pleased. Better still he'd attend the con and spend LOTS of cash. Pauline XX
