  1. The UBER ROCK website has a cool interview up for Halloween - Ari Lehman who was the first ever Jason Voorhees in the original Friday The 13th movie. Lehman fronts a rock band now called First Jason and talks in the interview about his music, soundtrack work with Bill (Choptop/Otis) Moseley and, of course, working with Tom Savini on F13!! He also talks at length about horror movie conventions!!!! I'm not sure if links are allowed here so I'll just give the site address....if that's ok?! www.uberrock.co.uk
  2. I was shocked to hear this news earlier....... Met the guy once - coolest man in the entire building. Very sad.
  3. AND THATS WHY I WANT TO MEET HIM ITS FXXXXXG "Nicholas Parsons" AS Adrian Edmondson SAID IN Mr Jolly Lives Next Door SO FUNNY IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM GO OUT AND JUST BUY IT ITS SO WRONG JASON It is a production of minor genius - absolutely brilliant. As to buying it, you can pick up used VHS versions, but if you want it on DVD then you'll need to buy "Comic Strip Presents - Complete Collection" (which is a jolly good thing ) Agreed - Mr Jolly was THE top comedy for me and my mates at that time! I hope Jason wasn't asked to "take out Nicholas Parsons" This thread has just made me trawl through the VHS tapes that survived the great DVD cull looking for my original Mr Jolly tape - it's still there and is so getting signed!!!!!
  4. He was in The Comic Strip Presents........Mr Jolly Lives Next Door, one of the funniest things to ever appear on UK TV!!!! Legend!!!!
  5. He had a decent selection in London last year, although The Omen ones - got my Omen one sheet signed, this was my reason for meeting him - were grainy screen grabs. He was happy to pose for photos but with the flash turned off due to an eye problem.
  6. I am happy about this date change as I just found out that an interview/photos that I have to do at a gig is on the same weekend as the original dates, meaning I probably wouldn't be able to do CMM3! Now I can - yay!
  7. I went to the place that cannot be named yesterday (sorry!). It was really busy. I also went to Collectormania Midlands, which wasn't. If dealers are going to have to make a choice they are, after these past two shows, not gonna pick CM3. Something has to give and someone has to make a brave decision - either way.......
  8. Hats off for a true comedy legend.........
  9. With Cantina scenes being re-shot in the US, you generally find two actors/actresses signing as the same character on both sides of the Atlantic! Funny you should mention Greedo in high heels; I've met Paul Blake on several occasions and know that one of the pics that he sells is of the high heeled variety - it is just cropped so that you can't see the feet. I collect autographs on a vintage trilogy poster now so anyone connected is good by me. I can, however, understand the doubts of collectors who are buying signed 10x8 photographs because - you're right - the person featured on the photo isn't always the signee, simply a character that they are associated with...
  10. Personally, I hope that the events are on different weekends or changed to different weekends. I travel from Wales and like to make a day of things, y'know? Two rival events that I would like to attend on the same day.......things for people like me would be rushed. If the SM event was like yesterday then I could get my half a dozen autos and be out of there within an hour - that can't be good for business. Me and my mates made it last yesterday but, in truth, we could have been back in Wales at just after midday if we'd left after getting our stuff signed. Dealers and guests and punters all potentially choosing which event to do - potential minefield. Why ask if any similar shows are taking place if it doesn't matter? I would still attend both events if they were on the same weekend but, considering some people are complaining about SM having too many shows and spreading themselves thin, having a SM event and a rival on the same days would be a worry. I wouldn't want another post-show thread from Jason explaining why things went wrong, I love the day after when everyone is buzzing from some great times!
  11. It was Roger Limb!!! When he didn't show they changed it to Keith Hodiak!
  12. Caroline Munro and Martine Beswick were down as £10 too but were charging £15. I actually mentioned it to Caroline Munro (who is one of the nicest guests ever!) and she was very apologetic. Couldn't believe that I paid £15 to get the much-derided Dave Holland to sign my vintage trilogy poster but was actually glad that I did - he was a total star!
  13. He was entering the building as I was leaving today - 2.15, something like that
  14. Given how poor the Ricoh guest line up is now looking and how quiet I reckon it's gonna be, a dedicated horror event at this time of year seems more and more appealing......
  15. Are you saying that Buffy isn't proper horror?! I agree with Nicky
  16. I'd like to think that they would come! A full on horror convention in the UK would be incredible - it just needs someone to take a chance on it. In the 90s, I attended horror film festivals that were sold out and had guests. Gunnar Hanson and David Hess did the rounds when TCM and Last House screenings were organised. A dedicated horror section at a CM event would be a happy compromise, for sure. That being said, I applaud CM for getting guests like Linda Blair in the current event formats.
  17. JOHN CARPENTER WILLIAM FRIEDKIN DAVID CRONENBERG ROB BOTTIN RICK BAKER TOBE HOOPER TONY TODD ROB ZOMBIE SHERI MOON ZOMBIE ALEXANDRE AJA ELI ROTH DANIELLE HARRIS PJ SOLES SISSY SPACEK JOHN SAXON WES CRAVEN WILLIAM LUSTIG CAROLINE MUNRO (met her before but finally got an original Maniac poster!!)
  18. Crappy news but not totally unexpected, eh guys??!!
  19. Dirk Benedict charged £20 at a rival event a few years ago.
  20. Dawn Of The Dead and Aja's Hills Have Eyes are the rare decent remakes for me too. I roll my eyes when I read about yet another classic being remade but think that maybe fans of The Thing From Another World did the same when they read that John Carpenter was doing his version of it...... Most remakes nowadays are aimed at the PG-13 attention deficit US teens market. The Friday The 13th movie will be the same, although there is a little hope as the writers centred on the story up to part 4, The Final (yeah, right!!) Chapter which was IMHO the beginning of the end of the franchise. With the exception of Jason X, which was dumb fun, the rest have been awful.....Freddy Vs Jason included. I'll be getting Kane Hodder to sign my multi-signed The Devil's Rejects poster. I've got an unsightly unsigned corner that needs to be filled!
  21. I hear that OJ is sewing mailbags that weekend so unfortunately can't be there. Shame, he would have made a killing.
  22. I saw Samantha Lewis who played Georgina handing out leaflets for a living a few years ago in London so I guess she wouldn't mind scribbling on a few annuals and getting paid for it!!!
  23. If Tucker and Alan are there, I'm in!!!!!
  24. Great guest! Another one for my Devil's Rejects poster!!!
