  1. Thank you. It's just a shame we'll probably never see an official response to any of the points I made.
  2. Voting with your wallet isn't as easy as it seems. There are people out there (like me) who completely begrudge paying £15/£20 for an autograph, but feel like we have to in order to complete our collection. If you're collection means that much to you (and with a lot of people it does) then you have to pay it, because you don't know if that guest will ever be back over. There's always the chance they will, but you don't know it, so you don't want to take that risk. Regarding other conventions, yes, they charge around £70 - £85 for a ticket, but they have a lot more guests giving you free autographs for that than it would cost you at a Showmasters event. I've been to one £65 event where there were four guests (who would charge, I'd guess £15 - now moving to £20 by the looks of things - at a Showmasters event), so you'd say that wasn't worth it. At Showmasters I could have got them all for £60. However, what about the 3 parties for my extra £5? Or the Meet & Greet party, still included in that same £5? Or the Q&As, which, yep, are still included? Or take this event only two weeks ago - it had nine guests, all of which I'd assume would be £15 at a Showmasters event. I got free autographs from them all, so that should make my ticket £135, right? Add in the Q&As, but they were free at LFACC so I'll count that as nothing. I'll add in the 3 parties, which would cost £15 each at a Showmasters event, and that should take my total up to £180, yes? No. It cost me £85 for all that, plus the guests were socialising not only at the parties, but also during the day when they weren't in Q&As, auto sessions or photo sessions. Don't get me wrong - I'm not dissing Showmasters here. I go to almost all of their events, and they do get the guests, but with the prices rising they are just becoming less and less value for money. I'd rather go to an event with four guests and three parties for £65 than pay £60 for those guests and no parties at a Showmasters event. Sadly, I cannot do that as I really want to complete my collection, but it's obvious that prices are rising and rising at Showmasters, but with another convention company are staying the same. Maybe it's the guests, maybe it's the organiser. We just don't know. And something that just bugs me - Tricia Helfer will be £20. That's just annoying as she's not worth it (though I'll pay it for fear she doesn't come back. That is if she doesn't cancel), but the thing that's more annoying is that she was going to be £15 if she turned up to C7. Charming.
  3. Tricia Helfer will be £20 I wish she didn't cancel the last Collectormania, as she would have been £15.
  4. However outrageous the below suggestions may be: Christopher Eccleston (The Doctor) Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) David Tennant (The Doctor) Barnaby Edwards (Dalek Operator) Nicholas Briggs (Dalek Voice) Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith) Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler) Davina McCall (Davina Droid) Anne Robinson (The Anne Droid) Yasmin Bannerman (Jabe) Zoë Wanamaker (Cassandra) Jimmy Vee (Moxx of Balhoon/Space Pig) Simon Callow (Charles Dickens) Eve Myles (Gwyneth) Annette Badland (Margaret Blaine/Blon Slitheen) Penelope Wilton (Harriet Jones) Russel T Davis (The Man) Corey Johnson (Henry van Statten) Bruno Langley (Adam Mitchell) Christine Adams (Cathica Kadanie) Tamsin Greig (Nurse on Platform One) Anna Maxwell Martin (Suki Cantrell) Simon Pegg (The Editor) Shaun Dingwall (Pete Tyler) Florence Hoath (Nancy) Richard Wilson (Doctor Constantine) Jo Joyner (Lynda with a Y)
  5. Personally, I would rather get a photo with a guest than an autograph (if I had to choose), so I don't like it one bit when I get guests who won't pose for photographs. I'm of the opinion that if the guest is 'big' (in this case Charisma, Kate and Val) and they don't want to slow the queue down by posing for photos then there should be the option for attendees to only have their photo taken (and therefore pay money, but not get an autograph) if they would rather. It would probably take less time for someone to pose for a quick picture than it would take to sign an autograph anyway, and with this option people who value photos more than autographs would get them, but those who would prefer autographs will get them as well.
  6. Yeah, Firefly for C8! Hopefully Showmasters can invite guests who have already been announced for another event within 3 months of C8! Wouldn't that be good? Instead of inviting the PLENTY of Firefly guests that have not been announced for another event, why not invite the ones that have? Wouldn't that be fun?
  7. Well Joss has been a surprise guest at 3 events by 'another organiser,' and he's had to cancel two days before the event each time, so don't get your hopes up. Then you can only be pleased if he does turn up.
  8. Giggle

    Party?

It'd still be nice to know if there were plans for one.
  9. I see the C8 website has been updated (glad to see Tricia Helfer is there.) The party page is still the C7 one though. Will there be a party at C8? Now that Common Rotation have announced a few UK gigs the weekend after, I hope that means they'll be entertaining us at the party and the event.
  10. Everyone knows Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Summer Glau and Christina Hendricks won't be at C8. The remainder of the main cast all want to come to another event (not C8).
  11. Well there's no chance of her being at C8.
  12. Emily Procter (also from The West Wing.)
  13. I responded with who Jean was following Jeni's post for those who didn't know, and a quote of what Jean had said. I didn't say I believed it, but nonetheless I look forward to your official statement. Clouds of uncertainty over guests are always better when resolved quickly.
  14. He's in a play in London I think ! That's why he appeared at an event in February. This time he's filming BSG, just like the other cast members. Come on network exec people - give us Katee and Tricia for the same amount of time as Jamie. I'm sure not many people will complain if they all add Friday and just miss out on some of Sunday, meaning those who can't get there the weekend will get to meet them. I'm sure they can live without filming for one day. Maybe Tricia and Katee should mysteriously get ill on the Friday, so don't turn up to shoot, and happen to be skiving from work over here with us!
  15. I understand it's probably the studio's decision, and not Showmasters, but I do wish they'd have done this with Katee (either instead or as well). Tricia too, but Katee more importantly. What can I say - I'm greedy.
  16. Jean is Jean Orrico, representative for a number of Farscape actors including Wayne Pygram.
  17. I wouldn't consider the BSG guests to be a 'major draw'. Yes, I want to meet them, and meeting them will take precedent for me over another event I've already paid £70 to go to that weekend, but I don't think they'll be major. Don't get me wrong, I think they'll have a fairly decently sized crowd who want to see them, but I'd be willing to put money on that fact that their queues will be non existent by 2pm on both days. I would consider the likes of Alexis Denisof and James Marsters to be major pulls. They haven't done huge amounts outside the Buffyverse, but I'd wager their queues will be much larger than the BSG guests.
  18. Thanks for reading my post ! Well, someone has to!
  19. If you're referring to the prices in the thread which have been taken off MSPG Autographs, no one is guessing. Those are the prices Showmasters will be charging (with a £10 mark up)
  20. Anyone with a hope of James Callis appearing at LFACC shouldn't really get their hopes up. There is a BSG convention in the States that weekend. So those who can't appear in London are (cast wise, so far) James Callis, Jamie Bamber, Katee Sackhoff, Mary McDonnell and Tricia Helfer.
  21. No news yet? The poor BSG guests will never get here if it's left too late - all the flights will be full!
  22. I'm concerned about the BSG guests. How easy is it for 4 main cast members to take the same weekend off mid-shoot? Also, Katee has been advertised as being somewhere else that weekend due to 'probable scheduling conflicts with a UK event she is confirmed for.'
  23. Is everyone insane? It's been posted on this thread that all the prices are on the MSPG website, minus the £10 extra they charge. I don't understand why people are guessing the prices when it's clearly on that website. Alexis and James are £20, as they're £30 on MSPG.
  24. I hope the BSG guests do appear. Although season two has been on the cards for a while now, each actors individual schedules for around the Collectormania weekend should have been given to them this week, so they should know when they're avaliable. Filming started shooting on March 30th, so I assume all main cast will be needed in the first two months. Here's hoping the Collectormania weekend of shooting only requires guest stars, new characters, Grace Park, Tamoah Penikett, Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell for filming. If it doesn't, we're in for at least one cancellation. It's not hard for one main cast member to ask for a weekend off work - but four? I hope they manage it, as I'd really love to meet them.
