  1. I'll second (or third) that - a great show and a great effort by Showmasters. Guests, layout, variety of stalls, help from crew...everything was really good. Only thing missing was a stall selling COOKIES!!! As for Scarlett Johansson next year, yes please.
  2. Lovely lovely man. Spoke to him during an autograph session - he was knackered and slowly cooking but genuinely happy to meet everyone and very appreciative and humble that people (a lot of people) wanted to meet him. A wee bit later at the photoshoot he was just as happy to talk to the same people all over again, still with a smile on his face. A real gent.
  3. I see a few of these for other people so have to make one for JG as he was awesome. Every photo he did was hysterical and I managed two since I had the perfect timing to blink right when my first attempt was taken. He seemed genuinely happy to meet everyone and was talking away quite the thing, and at the autograph table seemed almost embarrassed by how so many people were desperate to meet him, especially the lady in front of me who told him he was the greatest actor she had ever seen. Thought with him leaving the acting business because of all the hoo-hah that goes with it, the fact he not only did an event, but was brilliant throughout, was really, really super.
  4. Have to join this thread as he was brilliant. He was my top guest for the day but will admit to letting my girlfriend go in for her photoshoot first as I got nervous as soon as I saw him...is Hannibal Lecter after all He was so friendly and warm, was an absolute pleasure to meet, and I think he knew my heart was about to come out of my chest. Even when signing later on with a million people in his Q, he was great. I know I shouldn't but can SM try for Hugh Dancy in 2017?
  5. What a lovely guy Tobin was - got his autograph early and then his photoshoot late morning, and he chatted to everyone and genuinely seemed interested in what people had brought to get signed, where they were from and how things were going. Massive guest and at a great price too
  6. I'd like to add my thanks to Showmasters also for a great event this year. My partner and I did Saturday only but the layout was brilliant compared with last year, so very little running about once we got the VQ tickets we were after. There were plenty of stalls and eateries (we thought), way more spacing to actually enjoy the event and get round all that was on offer, plus the guests were all brilliant and seemed to be enjoying it. Special mention to the crew outside the photo shoot areas - I was in all four of them and the organisation, control and helpfulness was really good and very much appreciated, especially taking the panic of some people into consideration. Only minor complaint and probably not even something SM can help with is the cash machines running out of money a couple of hours from the end of the day. Thought I'd brought enough with me but as usual some v tempting stalls that either didn't take cards or their card readers weren't working. Overall though, brilliant. Can't wait for Glasgow now!!!
  7. That's not good - I've a few guests I've not booked and am undecided on, and it's like having too many options on a restaurant menu - you want someone to finish taking the order so you can stop changing your mind!
  8. Brilliant announcement Showmasters, THANK U. One of my all-time must sees can be ticked off the list...only 99 to go!
  9. Certainly raises some thoughts Jason, well done for that at least. In order for any FCC to be successful, you need something for everyone, unless it's advertised as a GoT convention, a Stars Wars Weekend or whatever. I've got 4 on my list this year with another 2 being considered tho mindful of potential announcements not yet made, so for me, this year is great. Each to their own - my girlfriend is BTTF daft so last year was like the best Christmas ever for her, and tho that's not my cup of tea, I still met 4 people that were cool. So in short, we are grateful for what we get - some are not for me, some are good and some are great - but never gonna criticise Showmasters for a lack of effort, coz it's always greatly appreciated and the days thoroughly enjoyed.
  10. Well done Showmasters - good to see you are taking on board comments and are hopefully improving things as the show grows. No doubt will still be pandemonium on each day, which you are never going to avoid, but most likely avoiding the stairwell when pressed for time is brilliant, and increases our chances of getting out alive at the end of the day. Bring on July
  11. Can Showmasters please make tickets available for Richard? Keep checking (every 10mins it feels like) and my PC is getting sick of me hitting the refresh button. Impatient much
  12. Apologies if this has been mentioned under a different thread - has there been any word from Showmasters re. photoshoots not involving celebs? Have seen on other FCC events the likes of the Mystery Machine and the BatMobile this year, and thought since Glasgow had room for the likes of Doc Brown's tombstone, Gollum and the Iron Throne previously, there would be something again this year. Hopefully something is in the works so we can be as good as the other locations, tho maybe that's just greed since our guest list this year is wizard!
  13. And I thought a Friday night couldn't get any better. Thanks Showmasters, great announcement.
  14. Oooh tempting and a good price too. Bad Showmasters tho - didn't mention him as being the brilliant bad guy in S1 of The Tunnel.
  15. Go Showmasters, thanks. The GoT people alone are making this year potentially very expensive. Looks like beans on toast for the rest of the year
  16. Oh wow Showmasters, what a great announcement, well done Get Hugh Dancy listed next and I will need a moment to myself!
  17. They're showing up for me. Have you tried clearing your cache? I managed to get my ticket about an hour after my original post thanks. I had tried on two different PCs and a tablet, and my girlfriend was trying at home and at work too but to no avail. Every time I tried, I did a clean refresh so as not to load from cache but it just wasn't listed, so maybe there was a delay at the Eventbrite end. Not to worry, all is sorted now
  18. Great guest announcement, especially for Glasgow. Is a sign our show is capable of attracting the bigger names (like with Sean Astin) so bodes well for the future. Big question - when will Showmasters/EventBrite actually make tickets available to buy???? Been checking every hour since the announcement was made.....unless am doing something wrong
  19. Kiefer Sutherland James Woods Jared Harris Gabriel Byrne
  20. Sir Ian McKellan Derek Jacobi Sir Ian Holm Iain Glen (could only go on Saturday this year so missed him)
  21. Hope I don't forget anyone! People from: GoT Highlander Lord of the Rings Harry Potter Vikings The Strain Supernatural Also good British actors like: Charles Dance Andy Serkis Ray Winstone Ben Kingsley Ewan McGregor James McAvoy Rory McCann
  22. Can already hear my girlfriend saying "in your dreams" and see her shaking her head but I'll suggest Jessica Alba sine she's the hottest female on the planet. If Showmasters pulled that off, it would be too ridiculous for words.
  23. How about some people from Fringe, which was the best show on TV...until it went a bit weird: Anna Torv Josh Jackson John Noble Lance Reddick
  24. Cool, a different weekend from San Diego means a better chance of bigger guests. Glad I haven't booked my hotel yet!
