  1. Shooting schedules can change at the last minute due to numerous reasons (availability of locations etc...). Contracts for filming don't allow actors to be unavailable for filming due to other commitments (except when those commitments are known about before contracts are signed). Contracts for conventions allow actors to pull out of appearing if they need to due to work commitments. That won't change because no agent worth their fee would tell an actor to sign a contract for a convention that prevented them from taking or finishing some film/TV work. The simple matter is that going to conventions is an added extra and will never take priority over their acting work.
  2. Alas whilst I understand the issues and don't blame you, like others I'm going to have to miss this one now. Even from Kent this is a big chunk more travelling than London and nice as Brighton is in the summer - well it's November!
  3. People are getting concerned about not getting guests from Arrow, Flash, AoS etc....but SDCC and LFCC didn't clash in previous years and they didn't come those years either. Perhaps it's simply a case that these people aren't available or don't want to come over here regardless of the clash. As much as people want guests from current shows there's quite a few of them who don't do (and don't want to do) cons. It's a damn long way for them to travel and work/family commitments may make it very difficult. I'm not convinced that this con clash will be the reason we don't get these guests. Hayley was here, yes, but considering she has a house in London and her family are here that's hardly surprising. With LFCC growing hopefully we'll get to the stage where more companies/productions actively encourage their actors to come over here for promotional reasons. But I can't quite see that LFCC is at the level of getting the MCU cast yet.
  4. There was a lost posted on here of who was where for signing but admittedly I didn't see it at the event. There were more staircases open today and designated ones for going up and down with a member of Olympia staff stopping people going the wrong way.
  5. You did. The only difference was when you got to the doors they had one for people with wristbands to go through so you didn't have to queue up with those having tickets scanned.
  6. Which I agree with to an extent but it's still hard to get some guests even with a low VQ ticket. If a guest is doing 2 photoshoots and a talk that cuts down their signing time. If you get many gold passes wanting their auto too that could mean that hardly any VQs get done which is a massive pity for the people who queued early.
  7. Sadly not. It's one per person. You can go straight to the back of the queue to get a VQ ticket though and then pick up a second.
  8. There are tickets still available and the plan was before to sell on the door if there were any but tbh it would be easier for you to buy online before going down there. The store is still open and you'll get your tickets instantly.
  9. The photo shoot areas are listed on the schedule that was put out a few days ago. The topic is still pinned. Unless something's changed (which I haven't heard) VQ tickets will be with a member of crew standing near the desk of the particular actor.
  10. Please come up and actually ask rather than just shuffling up and taking a picture as people are passing. I always find it a tad unsettling to have someone 'sneakily' try to take a picture. I presume it's because they're too shy to ask but I'd much rather they just do that AND you'll get a better picture.
  11. Brought a Sunday photoshoot on the hope it's a bit quieter and therefore a bit cooler for wearing a wool military uniform XD
  12. No on the day tickets does negate that some what - they knew how many people were coming in last year from pre-sales but then a HUGE amount turned up to pay on the day. That factor of the unknown is gone so it should be less mental this year. Although I suspect there will still be some people who try to turn up to pay on the day and get very cross when they find out they can't!
  13. To give you some perspective - I was there last year for the super-ridiculously busy Stan Lee Saturday. I got to Excel at about 7:45-8am. We were inside by about 9:15-20. You'll be fine, don't worry.
  14. From what I understand, as a Gold pass holder, you won't need a VQT. Correct me if I'm wrong? On the shop page it says that you MAY need a VQ ticket for Diamond Pass guests if you have a Gold Pass. But since Gold Passes get in swiftly anyway, this shouldn't be an issue for them.
  15. Walk (don't run ) to the autograph area. Person in a crew tee shirt will be standing in front of the guest's signing area handing out what look like raffle tickets with numbers on. Return occasionally to look at the board near the queue and see what number they're up to. When it's your number, hand you ticket to the nice crew member and join the queue.
  16. If you get there early and stay all day everyone has a chance. Just worried because of photoshoots on that day also, if i get there early and get a vq ticket and say if i also have a few photoshoots nearing the time im at the autograph que is there some way i can work that ??? Once your VQ number has been called you can join the auto queue at any time - go to the photoshoot and join the auto queue after.
  17. From what I've read, Gold Pass holders may need VQ tickets as well so the only people guaranteed an easy time are the Diamond Pass holders. (The Gold Pass holders have the advantage of getting in a bit quicker so can pick up a low VQ ticket). Anyone stands a chance. I managed to get Stan Lee's last year on the Friday. I've known guests do 800+ autos on a day before. Of course the issue with a guest like this is the fact she's doing a lot of other stuff besides signing which cuts down on her time (I can't remember how many VQ tickets Stan Lee got through last year but it wasn't many - he is a much older man though). Basically, get there early, pick up a VQ, be prepared to stay late!
  18. An official reply on the Facebook page says BCs photos will be £45 if that helps anyone.
  19. On the Facebook comments it says his photoshoots will be £45 each and be pre-sold. If there are some available on the day I can see queues forming as soon as this is made known... Yeah I do rather hope they are pre-sold only and made very clear that they are because it will end up with a ludicrous situation of all night queuing otherwise.
  20. Glad the presigned thing was cleared up. 1 presigned from THE Lead Guest(s) was causing the confusion. It's one presigned from EACH Lead Guest which is obviously good for those with Gold :) It says some photoshoot tickets will be available to buy on the day - will this include BC ones or will they all be presold? If it does include BC ones I foresee terrifyingly early morning queues forming outside the venue for a chance to purchase them! (Honestly, I'm not even going but I've had con-newbies ask me this and thought I'd check for them).
  21. Gold Pass holders get one single photo shoot with all attending guests. No group photos, no special costume/group shots. I have no idea where the idea not all photos are included is coming from. What do you need answers on please? The explanations on the ticket website are pretty detailed. Everything is listed. If something is listed as "preassigned" it will be randomly assigned. Thank you but I think people were mostly confused about the silver package and whether there would be an autograph one instead of a photoshoot one. also in Gold for the auto from the lead guest - is this def Benendict or could it be from anyone? I just don't think people are liking this whole potluck feel to the packages and are panicking so buying the dearer packages just to try and get some certainsy to actually getting something out of the con aside from debt. From what I've read the Gold will get 1 pre-signed auto from a Lead. At the moment this could be from Cumberbatch or Gattis as they are both Lead Guests. Luck of the draw over which one you get. Also would depend upon how many they've had a chance to sign. It does read like Cumberbatch may not be there for the whole event both days from the way 'time restrictions' is worded. Perhaps this just alludes to the fact he's going to be greatly in demand or it does mean he has other commitments. Either way I understand the notion of doing photoshoots instead - they are an awful lot quicker than autos because you can get people through quicker - and the fact that the easiest way to limit autos is by giving them only to those who paid the most. I do feel for his fans though (who likely make up 99% of the attendees) who won't have the chance to meet him. The standard ticket does look a bit lacklustre though - it gives you a chance to buy some autos, photo shoots and talks. If you aren't lucky enough to get these then you get some free talks, screenings and some displays. Doesn't on the face of it sound like much for the money alas.
