  2. One of the main reasons that they are only preselling tickets and not on the day is that they can only sell enough tickets that everyone can get in, so hitting capacity with people not in yet can't happen! As far as I can see no one has said what the capacity is, against the number of tickets being offered for sale. Well if you look at the Olympia website, it gives you a clue as to how many people can fit into each hall. Grand is max 10,000, National is max 4,800, Central is 4,940 and West is 2,500 - an absolute maximum of 21,740 if all four halls are used. If you think about fitting in all the stalls etc, this gets reduced. SM will have this in mind, and I am sure not sell above those numbers.
  3. Maybe I'm odd but I don't see there's anything to be excited about yet. You could spend all that money and find there's no-one you actually want to meet. Unlikely I know but as someone said above, it's like buying a ticket for the cinema or a concert and not having any idea of who or what you're going to see. You wouldn't do it. Maybe you ARE odd?! :) Or maybe I am?!?! What does it matter?! We both do the things that make sense to us an make us most happy!!! This convention is the event of the year for me so damn straight i buy a gold pass the first day because it makes me happy! I have my hotel booked for two months already :) Flights weren't open to be sold yet (not sure if they are now) but after next Payday I'll be booking those too. That's just how I do things :) Because... it makes me happy :) I totally understand you, Sheldine. I've already booked my flight and Hotel, and I feel happy because now I have only to wait for my next fabolous holidays in July! YAAAAIIIIIIII !!!! I know it's great isn't it???? Three of my friends also booked their gold passes already! Two (a couple) yesterday (they are traveling from Germany) and one buddy from the UK. My friend and I are flying in from Ireland. :) I am beyond excited I can't bloody wait!!! :clap:Hey if you're on twitter add me if you want :) Same name there as here :) (goes for everyone else too btw I love making new con friends! ) To be honest, some people enjoy being prepared as much as anything else. Plus, it's your money to spend, and it makes you happy. That's what counts. (I have my weekend tickets too, btw!)
  4. I didn't receive a photo shoot ticket for one of my guests for LFCCW, which I ordered a couple of days before I ordered my weekend tickets for next year. Slightly perturbed, especially as others are saying they have received theirs already? On another note, I bought mine early as I am going with friends who go every year as a birthday thing, so there is no way I wouldn't be going regardless of guests, as it gives me the chance to catch up with them. I preferred to do it at a point when I knew I had the spare cash (even though its not a gold pass) rather than having to think about when would be best to buy it later. Personally, I am a bit of an impulse buyer, so when a new guest gets added that I want to meet, I will buy the ticket there and then rather than wait. It does mean I tend to pay postage a few times, but I figure it's a justifiable cost to get what I want, when I can get it.
  5. I met the lovely Ruby True, who is an alt model, but as there as female Thor. Lovely lady, and very approachable.
  6. I think its a little naughty on his part, and on Showmasters too for allowing him to hike on the day. The Con relies on the goodwill of the attendees as much as, if not moreso than, the guests. After all the guests are BEING paid to attend, and we are paying TO attend. For those working to a tight budget, this would have made a big impact, and as Bunny said, it cost her James' autograph, which is unfair. Poor form, sir!
  7. I remember the SM staffie saying that she was a little timid and to only put a hand around her shoulder for the photo, but she seemed fine when I stepped up and seemed like she really appreciated it when I thanked her for the photo... Would happily meet her again
  8. http://www.ltd-edition-comix.com/ were the ones with the huge stall over on the right hand side of the hall. There were a lot of dealers with only Disney, Walking Dead and Breaking Bad, a few with some Marvel, Game of Thrones and Ghostbusters.... Will have to get the more obscure ones online, which is a shame as they were selling for £10 at con, but for £11.95 or more online
  9. Glad you got your ticket Liliaen, mine for Billy hasnt arrived. Good job I have the printout!
  10. May be really dense and not seeing the topic, but can anyone fill me in on whether we have to buy a ticket at the desk for the Iron Throne prop shoot, or at the photo area? Also, how much was it again? I have a friend asking, but also want to know for myself as could not for the life of me remember!
  11. Brilliant, this makes things a bit more manageable and gives me a chance to potentially sort out my missing Billy Boyd ticket if it doesnt arrive tomorrow. Definitely making an early start from home regardless. Might be able to get both Katee and Billy done early too if I can get to a decent spot in the queue!
  12. And without wanting to sound mercenary, I am assuming refunds will be done automatically for this one?
  13. You don't wait for the photo, it's printed instantly and you collect it as you leave the photoshoot area. Can't comment on the scheduling but presumably the assumption has to be that you're able to be there all day. There will always be someone who has an issue with some part of the schedule. Was just about to put this on myself. Without trying to be biased either way, I think you have to factor in that if a show is open until 6, you may be required to be there that late for a shoot if you're buying one. SM have a a tough job fitting everyone in and try and avoid clashing the more popular guests, but as Rockstar said, you can't please everyone.
  14. Damn... Oh well. Guess it means I can queue earlier for Billy Boyd and get him done before Lance...
  15. Couple of minor clashes on the Saturday with shoots, but the only talk I want to see is the BSG one and I don't have anything clashing with that. Luckily most of my shoots are in Photo Area B, with only a couple to dash off for. Going to be a little bit of a juggling act for individual shoots with Catherine, Lance and Billy, but fingers crossed!
  16. Getting slightly antsy now! The anticipation is killing me...
  17. Cutting close to the wire! I suppose it's mostly to alleviate worries about clashes, or knowing how to manage them if so... I know that the SM are working hard to have everything ready and the staff on the day will help out where they can in that respect.
  18. Thank you. It's my own fault for not registering in the first place. Lesson learnt for next Summer
  19. I just started another thread on this, d'oh! Perhaps mine will be in the post today
  20. For those of us that decided on a whim to buy tickets just before the store closed, is there any info on whether these have been sent/when they will be? I have never registered with the store online, so have no clue if there is a tracker or anything, but with a week to go, I am still missing one of my tickets... Any/all exasperated responses welcomed
  21. The High Street on the other side of Earls Court station from the exhibition centre has lots of places, including restaurants like Byron. If you dont mind a little stroll (10 minutes) you wont have any trouble finding something to chow down on
