  1. Emphasis on the 'MASSIVE' and how SM like to throw curveballs - isn't Ant-Man out the same weekend as LFCC... what about Paul Rudd?
  2. Can. Not. Wait. Some incredible guests (for me, anyway) this year - so it will be quite devastating once some inevitable cancellations start coming in - but I'm pretty stoked about the whole thing. I've had a blank since NFCC in March - but now my entire summer fun is compressed into 4 weeks this year!!!
  3. I'd like to think Showmasters might respect the comfort and enjoyment of their paying punters by placing reasonable limits on the amount of people allowed in the venue at any one time. Overcrowding (combined with the inevitable high temperatures) could be eased by placing safety/health considerations above the pursuit of cash. Personally speaking, I have about £3,000 planned to be spent over the Saturday/Sunday I am there, but this could be dramatically reduced if I am forced to leave early due to issues that could be alleviated by sensible advance planning.
  4. As a gold pass holder, if I have a batch 3 photoshoot ticket do I have to still attend the batch 3 shoot,or can I go to the batch 1 or batch 2 shoot for that guest? I'm asking this so I can plan ahead, trying to fit as much in to the sat/sun I am there. I'd rest much easier knowing that this is the case, as I am very nervous about booking photos with some guests if they may clash with the diamond pass events I also have booked...
  5. Guys, I had the pleasure of meeting Will at Newcastle earlier this year... He is a fantastic bloke to stop by and have a chat with, and you can tell he is so passionate about what he does. A superb guest!
  6. Near Dark. Probably my favourite 'vampire' film of all time.
  7. I know the full details are to follow at some stage from SM, but I know when Robert England did the same 'Freddy' makeup appearance at a US con last year, he did his normal photoshoots (out of makeup, as himself) early in the day, then went away to have the prosthetics applied (2 hours or so) then appeared as Freddy for the photoshoots and talk at about 3pm. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar format will apply at Lfcc, with the diamond pass stuff being p.m.
  8. Would love Emilia to be there, but given her global press junket responsibilities around that time for Terminator, along with GoT S6 starting filming late July - if she survives S5! - I think her appearance would be extremely unlikely. which is a shame.
  9. A one-word answer to your question: Yes. The bank of air handling units serving the building will have been sized based on so-many air changes per hour for the volume (cubic capacity) of the venue. However, as it's not a sealed room being served, there would have been an increase in the overall capacity of the complete air conditioning system to compensate for the opening doors/windows. The best venues dramatically oversize the system (e.g. maybe by 2-3 times), in order to always cope with demand. Air con can work in varying stages - it's not always on @ 100% and off @ 0%. It can scale up or scale down based on demand. The 'real' best venues have standby equipment in critical areas on-hand, incase of key equipment failures (i.e. the water chillers/cooling towers serving the cooling coils in the air handling units), that can be switched over manually should a key component fail.
  10. Tom Savini - it could make sense for SM to try to get him - would certainly be a major guest for all the horror fans attending this year.
  11. Not true, QS. I work in the air conditioning industry and have done for 21 years. There is no valid reason why a fit-for-purpose, correctly sized, well maintained a/c system should have to be taken offline during a major event like LFCC. My question was really to see, given that this venue had been chosen over last LFCC's Excel, if careful consideration had been given to ther comfort of the attendees or if it was again being left to chance with no plan B available.
  12. Anyone know if there's any air-con in Olympia, and how effective it will be in the packed halls mid-July? I heard all the stories about Excel during LFCC2014, and just wondering if there was expected to be much difference in the new venue. (I'm pretty sensitive to heat!!)
  13. Natalia ticket (refunded yesterday) was old store, ticket came to me in the post. Frakes ticket (still not refunded) was new Eventbrite store, so an e-ticket.
  14. Got my refund for Natalia Tena, but still no sign of the refund for Frakesy. Odd, given that his cancellation was a fair few days earlier than hers...
  15. There looks to be a few issues with the listings on the Eventbrite site for LFCC at the minute (e.g. double entries for certain guests) - hopefully SM can get this put right, and add extra batches for Natalia on the Sunday, plus Malcolm McDowall entries to be put in for Sat/Sun...
  16. Jezus - I've just heard this news, came on here straight away and it's sold out already? Super p*****d off, as I booked my Saturday photo with Natalia months ago - and not even a sniff of an email. Get your act together SM.
  17. Sort of mixed feelings this morning. Super stoked that Twin Peaks 2016 is now a definite go, but a bit nervous this will lead to a cancellation due to work commitments from Ms. Fenn.... Really hope she can juggle both, as she's one of my absolute top 3 guests at LFCC.
  18. I got it last year from an ebay seller called reelcinemascreenprints - they get some awesome stuff in, but this one really struck me... Looking at their stock now, seems like they have still got two of these available.
