  1. Ah right, nice. That must have been so cool. Even if they were the nephew. Reminds me of when my relatives used to be friends with actor Sean Bean before he became a worldwide name. Envious really. Sean Bean would be another great guest to have at a Showmaster event one day too, come to think of it. What kind of work was it, if you don't mind me asking? Yeah, I certainly do get the feeling that both Stephen and Hugh are very private individuals. Nothing wrong with that of course. Though, I am slightly surprised that you mention Hugh is more private than Stephen. Not saying that I disagree. Just kind of surprised as I see him on the TV more than I do Stephen. So it kind of gave me the opposite impression. I also did a bit of research shortly after I posted my last message. Apparently Hugh has done an event before. In Glasgow (at a ''no name'' event) but that was several years back now. So its possible it could happen. Not sure if he enjoyed his time in Glasgow. I'm not going to give up hope though. After all I have managed to meet so many guests over the years, some of which I never thought I would have met. I'm even going to be meeting another next year. I'll be quiet on that one though, as its 'cough' at another event 'cough' ha! At the end of the day as long as the world is still turning, anything could happen.
  2. Interesting. How did you manage to ask one his nephews exactly? Social Media I presume? Though, I don't mind having Stephen Fry as a guest. I'd love to add his squiggle to my copy of Fable 3. However, I'll admit I'm more of a fan of his friend and 'sidekick' Hugh Laurie. I would literally explode if his name ever got announced. Though I think deep down that both are very rare. I'm not really surprised if none of them ever do events, they really don't seem the type. Which is also why I find the nephews reply totally understandable. It clearly indicates my original thoughts, in truth. Unfortunately. If only one of them would at least attempt an event, then if they turn out to enjoy it they could encourage the other one. It would be amazing to get both Stephen and Hugh. It's extra money after all. Plus its a token of appreciation as I'm sure many fans in the world would love to meet them both. I also agree with Raylenth, that if either of them did turn up then it would be at LFCC. They won't be doing the smaller events. It is very unlikely. Rare and popular guests don't really suit those particular events.
  3. Yes, I know that feeling. I, too, am in the same boat as I cannot attend this event. Was gutted to miss out on him last time too, though I did manage to watch him sign whilst waiting for other guests. So at least I have managed to see him in person, just not managed to bag a proper meet and greet with him. Hopefully our time will come eventually.
  4. I knew that named seemed familiar. Siro from Mortal Kombat Conquest. I agree he would make a great addition to the guest line-up. Alongside Kristanna Loken, Paolo Montalban, and Jeffrey Meek.
  5. I know I mentioned them both before but Hugh Laurie and Ioan Gruffudd would be really great guests. Just done watching all 177 episodes of House for the first time. Now moving onto both Chance and Harrow. Whilst also playing through Diablo III, which Ioan Gruffud apparently voices in. Would be great additions to any future events.
  6. Sorry, I just found the way this was worded to be rather... uniquely strange and bizarre. 'Who this groovy is?' Anyway don't mind me, still trying to come to terms with the way you type. Moving on... Apparently we now have 32 days, so just over a month to go until the actual event itself. To me the days are flying by. Unfortunately, it might also mean that we could still have a bit of a wait on our hands regarding the actual guest announcement. Anticipation is a fun thing....
  7. Yeah, it makes sense. I was just under a different assumption. Moving on....
  8. I always thought that talking about events is okay as long as you do not mention the name of the event or link to them. I mean SM are not the only signing event in the world, or even in the country. There will always be competition. Still, talking about the forums. After coming back from a several month break I am really surprised at how quiet it is around here. Feels weird and kind of depressing really.
  9. I agree Christopher Judge would be a great addition. I'd love him to sign my copy of God of War.
  10. Awesome! I loved him in Free Willy. Also had no idea he voiced in Splinter Cell. Definitely getting an autograph!
  11. Great announcement. Very tempted to get an autograph. Gollum has always been one of my favourites characters.
  12. Currently working from home, whilst listening to various music. I know getting musical guests isn't a strong point. However, I am also aware that SM has managed to get some big named musical guests in the past. So a few musical guests that I'd love to meet is anyone from the German band Enigma (Michael Cretu, Andru Donalds, Angel X). Apparently they are now doing tours around parts of Europe. Unfortunately I cannot go to any Also, Enya would be amazing too. Apparently she is planning on releasing new music soon, can't wait. Both are legendary musicians and singers with amazing music. I'm not sure if events like these are even interesting to them or if still being active kind of negates any possibility. Still it would be amazing.
  13. Interesting, a bit of a cross-dresser eh?. How did that turn out for you? Ha! I was kind of referring to myself, since I am a female and I assumed the challenge that you mentioned was directed towards me. My attempt at trying to correct you, sorry Out of curiosity where did the term grrooovy come from? I'm going to guess you are an Austin Powers fan?
  14. What is fair is having your own opinion, for me, personally, Benedict Cumberbatch does not qualify as an A-lister. Maybe I just judge celebrities a little differently compared to others.
  15. Sigourney Weaver and Stan Lee were very impressive announcements, I'll admit. Maybe the only real A-listers so far.
  16. Groovy young girl Though I'm not sure if I can call myself young any more Well I kind of accepted your challenge but there is so much to go through and I'm not sure I have the time to go through it all. What also makes it difficult to search through so many different posts is the cooldown too, even when signed in. Anyway some of the posts I came across were interesting though, SM have certainly outdone themselves with some great guests over the years. One such guest was Brad Dourif back in 2008, man he really needs to come back. He has been on my guest list several times now. I'm not sure if one of these guests you were referring to including this one? as I forgot to add him to my most recent post but he has certainly been on my radar for quite a while now. Also, found out that Lucy Lawless does do signings though, to my knowledge, has yet to get announced at an SM event. She is probably my most wanted guest as Xena holds a lot of childhood nostalgia for me. Otherwise I am not sure what two guests you are referring to outside of those ones.
  17. Since the thread is back now, I will try to post my new message whilst also trying not to trigger anyone this time. I am still curious though. Anyway, though I am mostly into video games, which unfortunately don't get featured too much at these events. There are a few tv and film stars that I would happily pay quite a hefty sum in order to meet. Also, as someone did not like me mentioning that SM does not include a-lister stars I will include them in my following list too. MY DREAM GUESTS Matthew Broderick Joe Mantegna Al Pacino Lucy Lawless Ioan Gruffudd Liam Neeson Hugh Laurie Robert Sean Leonard Hank Azaria Steve Austin (Stone Cold) Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) Steve Borden (Sting - I mainly added this one to the list as a guest I would pay to meet. Unlike the other guests I know he does these type of events. He was in the UK earlier this year, sadly though I missed out) My curiosity question is, what are the chances of any of these guests being announced? Does anyone know if they even attend these type of events? I will admit I don't really do much research on this and I'm only familiar with a few events. So anyone with better experience and knowledge? I think its good to know these things to help lower expectations. Regardless though, those are my dream guests that, if ever given the opportunity, I would pay a lot to meet. Trust me when I say a lot as I have been there before.
  18. Well my last post didn't age well. Asking for Mark Calaway and with the current news circulating around. I know it was a long shot anyway but I cant help but feel like an idiot now, as well as disappointed too. I wouldn't care, as said, I have been watching a lot of the old 90s-2000s wrestling as of late. This also includes various documentaries too and I kept telling myself how lucky I am that my personal favorite wrestlers all seem to be clean. Most of them seemed to be very well respected. If someone who I highly respected and heard great things about is not that great after all, then yes, now I too believe that in the wrestling world it is best not to have any heroes. Sorry if this post comes of as negative or too much for the forum. I just couldn't help posting something, especially after only having recently suggested the actor. A lot of it was just me wanting to express my disappointments too. Not sure if I should tune into the next episode on Thursday or not, I'm just dreading what I may now hear. Twitter certainly gives me a bad vibe. Maybe I'll refrain from asking for wrestling guests in the future ha! Childhood crushed!
  19. After 20 years of being away from everything wrestling and thanks mainly to COVID and not having much to do these past few months, I have recently been getting back into it all. I used to be a massive wrestling fan back in the day, bought so much memorabilia tshirts, duvets and whatever I could get my hands on really. Drove my family mad with it all ha! However, as I got older I stopped watching it. That was until a few months back when I started to watch the old wrestling stuff once again, I'm not too fussed on the new wrestling and I still don't follow it like that. I just enjoy the old stuff mainly due to nostalgia. As I continue to watch the old stuff it got me thinking about how great it would be to meet some of them. I'd love to meet the following wrestling stars; Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Sting, William Regal However, though I enjoyed their specific characters, my ultimate dream is to meet The Undertaker and considering he just recently retired maybe now is a great chance for this to happen, I know WWE won't allow their stars to go to signing events which is a shame as Triple H would be another amazing superstar. Though given his position I think I have finally come to terms that meeting Triple H is never ever going to happen, unfortunately. Though I still cling to whatever hope there is out there. Anyway one of my biggest life regrets is going to a wrestling arena back when I was much younger, I was with my mum at the time and she was speaking to someone that worked at the event and they asked me if I wanted some autographs. I was a massive fan of both Triple H and The Undertaker back then and still am today, Triple H wasn't at this particular event but I have been lucky enough to watch him live. However, The Undertaker was at this event but because of my confidence and lack of, I unfortunately didn't muster up the confidence to ask for The Undertakers autograph. Thus long story short, I ended up going home with a book of autographs that was randomly given to me out of generosity and they included various other wrestler autographs but mainly the low card stars such as Spike Dudley, Nunzio the best autograph I got back then was probably Theodore Long (the ex-Smackdown manager). Not that I'm being ungrateful as I cherish these autographs and still have them now. It is mainly just a what could of been moment for me I think given how much I loved The Undertaker character. So I'd love Showmasters to get The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) so I no longer need to regret my self disappointments
  20. Just managed to get my paws on the VR for PS4. Tried it out for the first time ever an hour or so ago, game of choice was Batman VR. Suffice to say I didn't get anywhere in the game I was simply too blown away by how amazing the whole feeling of being thrown into a video game actually felt. Looking around and the immersion is such a really nice feeling, if anyone is on the fence about getting it or trying it out do so. I'm really enjoying the whole VR experience. Amazing how far and impressive technology is these days.
  21. I'm mostly a gamer at heart so most of my meets are known for their voice acting work and working on video games. However, some of my favourite meets are.. Liam O'Brien - He was nice enough to pull off one of his character voices on my Camcorder for me. Peter Capaldi - I was lucky enough to get more time with him as the camera broke before I had my photo taken. Nobuo Uematsu & Hironobu Sakaguchi - Not very good at English. However, just being able to meet these 2 who contributed to creating my all time favourite video game (Final Fantasy VIII) was a childhood dream come true for me. I have had tons more good guest experiences but those are probably my top ones.
  22. Loving the RDR2 additions. Fantastic game and fantastic talented voices. RDR2 additions are my favourite announced guests for this event thus far. Great job SM! Thank you!
  23. Hosea!!!! My second favourite character in RDR2! Amazing announcement!
  24. Loved him in T2 and X-Files. Another one I may have to consider getting.
  25. Nice! The Gov was my favourite character in TWD back when I used to watch it. Might have to consider this one
