The key is to make it as easy as possible for the person whose autograph you are seeking. If all they have to do is sign your photo, stick it in the SAE and bung it in the mail you have a much better chance of success. I wrote to Gene Kranz (NASA) at his home in Texas and got my signed photo back in 2 weeks!

I seem to recall an 80's comedian who said "slither" as a sort of catchphrase...any ideas who it was? Thunderpants

Note from QS: I'm really sorry, but we don't allow transactions like that on the forum for reasons of possible liability etc.

I made the same request of Gillian Anderson but she slapped my face :-D

My Buzz Aldrin is my most treasured. He wrote "We came in peace for all mankind" above his signature which I thought was pretty cool. I framed it up with a nice photo and Apollo 11 mission patch that I bought at Kennedy Space Centre and it hangs in the dining room.

Some of you guys must've met Cosmonauts at previous events- did they do talks and were they still guarded about aspects of the Soviet space programme despite the amount of time that has passed?

Dave Scott would be great, as would Jim Lovell. I also agree with the previous post regarding Cosmonauts.

There are plenty of Scottish people who enjoy meeting the celebrities Mr. Wizard; I happen to be one. A reluctance to do so is not a national trait, it's an individual preference.

At last year's CM Lance Henriksen wrote "I, we and a tribe" on my photo (at least I think that's what it says!) Does anyone know what that's all about?

I am surprised too- I thought the suggestion of BBT guests would have created more of a forum buzz

"Dambusters" DVD cover) 7) Alex Vraciu (Top USN fighter ace of WW2-photo) 8) John Greig (Footballer- book, programme and auto book page) 9) Davie Cooper (Footballer-auto book page) 10) Arsene Wenger (letter) 11) Billy McNeill (Footballer-programme) 12) Roy Keane (MU poster-he wrote "up the Celts" on it to annoy me-I saw the funny side!) 13) Claudio Caniggia (Footballer-scrap of paper!) 14) Terry Pratchett (scrap of paper now a bookmark) 15) Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (photo) 16) Leonard Nimoy (book) 17) Patrick Stewart (photo) 18) Keir Dullea (photo) 19) Tom Baker (photo, greetings card) 20) Sharon Stone (photo)

I barely have 20 autographs in total let alone 20 faves :-D But I did get my Alan Bean and Barbara Bain autos from autographica in the post today along with a Gene Kranz NASA signed photo (I wrote to him a couple of weeks ago)

You DON'T have to buy an autograph to talk to a guest; if the timing's right (e.g. if it's quiet at their table) you may be able to have a chat, but you should make way if a paying punter appears. Don't stand in a queue then not buy an autograph though!
