  1. I have always enjoyed Fridays. Too bad if MK events are going to be only two days. (of course, easier for guests and less expensive, but still..) Hopefully the weekend would be confirmed, as this hasn't always been the case. Not sure yet if I'm ready to book flights.
  2. It now appears that SM has added CM23 section to this forum. Based on that, it will be again only a two day event. Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2015.
  3. People are confused. At least I am. Why MK event that used to have so many known names from different fandoms, is suddenly only a shadow of what it used to be? This is a new situation without any further explanation. Shop closes in a couple of days, and even though there might be additions afterwards, those aren't usually many. It almost looks like SM has forgotten MK while it's already focusing on next summer's LFCC. I keep wondering if there has been some changes in the office, hopefully nothing bad. If this is a one time only, or is this a new direction for all SM events? More shows, less guests? I'm not surprised that people wish answers from SM, because this isn't how they usually work. And what will happen to the Sherlock event that has been talked about for so long already? To be honest, I'm a little worried. That doesn't mean I'm displeased.
  4. Very good points here. Now if I was attending for the first convention EVER and didn't know about the previous guest lists, I might be a bit excited, otherwise not a bit. I can never forget my first CMMK in May 2012, when they had guests such as FIVE Doctors, John Barrowman and Karen Gillan plus all the other big names from many other fandoms. I consider myself as a fan of many different tv shows and movies so usually I have at least 10 guests I'm meeting. In this event even "the most familiar faces" aren't attending and that surprises me. One thing that amazes me are these first time signers from Star Wars. I went through some older posts and found these statements from Jason: So okay.. first of all. Actors who were not even credited?! They rather spend time finding people who attract only small part of fans and aren't even big names with maybe only one scene? I'm sorry, but I don't really get this.. I understand that Star Wars fans most likely appreciate them, but why go through so much work for such unknown actors? For me, there is nothing "cool" about owning an autograph from a person no one else knows. And revealing their names after the shop has closed, okay, no problem with that, if none of them is doing a photoshoot. I too would very much like to hear what SM has to say about the poor guest list. I already feel bad about the actors attending, it's gonna be a quiet weekend.
  5. Not going. And based on opinions here, I guess it will be very quiet. If I lived in UK and closer to MK, I might still not go, even though it's a free entry. It's the guests why I go to these events, I usually buy no merchandise at all.
  6. It's sad to see the low number of guests so far in this event. I have always enjoyed MK events ever since I started in May 2012 and have never missed a show. After this year's LFCC (which I think was a bit of a disaster, not very enjoyable in my opinion) I soon booked flights and a hotel room for November CMMK. Flights I had to pay immediately, but not the hotel room which I can fortunately cancel for free. It was about a month ago when I first started to consider the thought of not going. All this time there hasn't been a single guest I'd like to meet so for a fan like me, travelling from another country, I see no point in attending. Only one week and the pre-order shop will be closed. So far 25 guests plus the sport people. SM already keeps talking about next year's LFCC, but what happened to other events? I think it's great that they keep adding new cities and events, but if they do that, they shouldn't forget the original ones! For me it appears that they are having too much work at their hands. It now seems that I have a very good reason of my own to skip this CM, but to think that I would have skipped it anyway, doesn't feel right for a fangirl like me. Because I have preferred MK over London, I'd love to know the May dates so I could switch my plane tickets for that weekend, or maybe I just should choose LFCC weekend, hoping it would be a better experience next year. And with this number of guests, I don't think they need to use the concourse. Last year they had double the guests and had enough space in the arena. Plus they now have the balcony that they didn't have last year.
  7. Remember, SM already has a guest for CM May.. "We are pleased to announce Gareth David-Lloyd for the following Showmasters events: Belfast Film and Comic Con Sat 25th October 2014 Cardiff Film and Comic Con on Sat 8th November 2014 Newcastle Film and Comic Con Sat 28th March 2015 Collectormania Milton Keynes Sun 17th May 2015 London Film and Comic Con July 2015 Sun 19th July 2015 Sheffield Film and Comic Con Sat 15th August 2015 Collectormania Glasgow on Sat 22nd August 2015 www.collectormania.com " That was posted on their fb page on 24th September. Not sure how trustworthy this info is though.
  8. The Shield was a great show! Would love to meet any of the cast members!
  9. Can't 'like' your post, because I'm not attending LFCC winter, sorry. lol But yes, having Lucy in SM events would be beyond wonderful!
  10. My usual wishes, cast from: Xena & Hercules (Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, Kevin Sorbo, Michael Hurst, Bruce Campbell, Adrienne Wilkinson, Alexandra Tydings, Paris Jefferson, Jay La'gaia, Danielle Cormack, Karl Urban, and so on..) Lexx (Brian Downey, Xenia Seeberg, Eva Habermann, Michael McManus, Ellen Dubin, Nigel Bennett, Patricia Zentilli, Luise Wischermann, and so on...) True Blood (Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Joe Manganiello, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer von Straten, Anna Paquin, Sam Trammell, etc.) Buffy & Angel (David Boreanaz, Alyson Hannigan, Nick Brendon, Jamas Marsters, Julie Benz, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Eliza Dushku, Amber Benson, etc.) Spartacus (Manu Bennett, John Hannah, Craig Parker, Dustin Clare, Viva Bianca, Liam McIntyre, Peter Mensah, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Todd Lasance, Dan Feuerriegel, etc.)
  11. I'm still not giving up! I *know* that at least both Brian Downey (captain Stanley Tweedle) and Ellen Dubin (Giggerota) are just waiting to be invited! Brian has said that UK still has many Lexx fans, show me that this is true! Meeting any cast members face to face would be so wonderful. Pretty please?
  12. They accept Euros at SM events?!?! What?! When I exchange the money, I naturally get 50 pound notes too, but almost every time the crew seems suspicious when I hand them over. Are those notes really that rare in everyday use?
  13. I got mine on Friday when I just went to take a peek before even changing into my costume. They were selling them outside walking around. What comes to programme itself, I was a bit disappointed. I had hoped it would have schedules and other useful information. Instead it was just a commercial for different shows.
  14. We didn't see them at all after going up and down all the aisles on Sunday when it was quieter. We were looking for him too! I saw them, can't really describe the spot, but it was somewhere in the middle and smaller space than usually.
  15. Ok, thanks for this. I'm not familiar with these rules. As a 100% non-smoker, seeing this happening made me see red a bit.
  16. Call me a party pooper, but I think smoking electric cigarettes INSIDE EC2 was disgusting! I saw several different cases. Even if it isn't so smelly than ordinary cigarettes, it's still smoking. Shouldn't smoking inside be forbidden by now?
  17. Wow.. Where to start? I joined the prebooked early bird queue about 8:15 and was inside about 9:20. Not bad at all. It was alright for the first few hours, but soon it became clear that there was way too many people wanting to participate. I love my convention hobby, but after returning to EC2 from the Jenna talk (which also had Steven Moffat in it so that was a plus) things were not looking good. I went to see the guests, but most of them weren't there (probably lunch) and then I made the decision to leave. I couldn't take it. Also, I was and still am upset about how so many fans are just sitting there and waiting in the middle of hall while there were so many people outside who were not let in. Yes, I bet it's nice to say that "it's the biggest event in Europe", but this time SM took too big bite. The organizing isn't done professionally and I feel very bad towards those people who have been waiting hours outside and now they can't even enter. I think I will stick to Milton Keynes.
  18. Unfortunately the Atlantis talk has been cancelled. Oh no! Didn't see that. That's one less activity for me then.
  19. I wonder if the Atlantis talk is free or paid? What are the chances to know before opening on Friday?
  20. I really need to add a mini FAQ to the first post. Go to crew, tell them you have to leave and be prepared to show your ticket. They will try to get you through fast. Although with number 46 you're in the first batch anyway and you'll be through within a couple of minutes. Thanks QS. Yes, I'm aware that crew helps you if there are clashes with other photo shoots, but I wasn't sure about this one. I do have a minute schedule, missing a plane isn't really something you wish to happen.
  21. Thanks to those updates, I think I can now attend to Sarah Parish photo shoot on Sunday. But I need to know would it be possible to be in front of the queue, because I really need to do this quickly in order to catch my plane later in the evening from Gatwick. My number is 46. Or should I just start queuing one hour earlier to guarantee number one spot? :)
  22. I don't think so. I have photo shoots for all three Atlantis guests, but can't attend any of them for the same reason. It's just bad luck.
  23. Super stage is 2000+ seats. Thank you. I presume they're expecting a large crowd for the Jenna talk. Does anybody have tickets for this? What number are they, how high do people expect them to get? For Jenna Talk, I have 227. And I waited couple of months before ordering. Order date was 10th June.
