I was only able to attend C7 on Saturday, and due to my kids and I being extremely tired we had to leave early, missing out on meeting Bernard Hill (my choice, I just hope I get another opportunity in the future).  It was absolutely packed, but the guests seemed to be enjoying themselves, the crew that I encountered were VERY friendly and helpful, and, on the whole it was a great morning for myself and my family.

Sean Astin couldn't have been nicer, the same can be said for Kiran Shah (the only guests I got to meet)

Since I got back I have been shocked and dismayed to see so many complaints about C7.  Showmasters do a great job, as do the crew.  Without them we wouldn't have such a fantastic event.

Thankyou All

Yes there are things that may possibly improve the event for some of us (ie a private venue) but there are still others who would not be happy.  As someone pointed out to me, it is a business venture, and therefore it needs to be profitable.  If you don't like something, instead of moaning about it, think, and see if you can come up with a SENSIBLE suggestion to improve it.  Criticism is wasted if it's not constructive.  Also, could you REALLY do a better job?  If you can, then go ahead and prove it, otherwise, give us all a break, and stop moaning.

Roll on LFCC3 and C8, I'll be there if I can find the money!!!! :D
I've been called Jess, Ned, Leathers, Leathers22000, Nessa Ancalimë, Zaranth, Kahlan Amnell and Meriagrin Brandytook (Meri).  Which one do you know me as?

finally! Thank you! couldn't agree more. i love going to collectormania and i will continue to go for many years to come. obviously if someone has a genius idea that is viable and will improve the event for everybody go ahead and suggest it but as far as i'm concerned there isn't much wrong with the way it is now
I'm back after a very long absense and itching to get back to as many events as I can...afford!

This was my first collectormania, and I loved it! I got to meet everyone I wanted, James Marsters, Kali Rocha, Dean Stockwell, Alexis Denisof and Tony Head. And they were all really lovely, I have no complaints about the guests at all.

I came home a happy person,  I missed Bernard, but at least I got to see Sean, I had promised my kids we'd meet him (they both love Frodo and Sam) and they got to say hello, so they were happy, and they got to meet Kiran, which was a bonus.  To be perfectly honest, my money would 've only just stretched to one more autograph anyway.

I'll meet Bernard another time, and hopefully get to meet some of the folks from here, too

Sad buggers on this board all ganging together to slap themselves on the back! Pathetic! If you don't learn from your mistakes and make improvements the show will end because stars won't want to be involved and the public won't want to have to deal with the likes of you SM crew again! If I have my way Showmasters will never be allowed to host such an event again, so happy memories everybody! At least you can spend 20 hours a day posting messages to each other and congratulating each other on being wonderful. A bit like a modern-day Hitler Youth club for brainless dorks. Very disturbing indeed.
Luckily you won't be having your way as you just seem to be a brat, throwing toys from your pram. I can't help but wonder if you were turned down for a position on the crew.

Your comparison with the Hitler youth is insulting in the extreme.

perhaps you would do best to Fcuk Off?

I agree...... thing people haven't noticed is that there's a LOT less complaints about C7 than there was for C6... most of them have come from the same few people. Personally, I like to think that SM ARE learning from what goes on.

Yeah you're right. after C6 lots of people were moaning.
this time it pretty much is the same people who i think are probably current members under new names because they cowardly to post under their own names
I personally had a better event this time round but i spread C7 over the whole weekend so it was less stressful

Certainly I think a lot of the complaints are coming from the same poster under different names... you can tell by the same immature, whiny tone of them!  :D

Personally I preferred C6, just because of the guests and I think parts of the party changed for the worse (i.e. not being allowed back in at 12.15!!)

one thing i don't understand that if they feel that SM events are so terrible why do they bother going?? why not just stay at home and let the rest of us enjoy ourselves

Best guess? They've come on again at about 3 pm, which I'm guessing might be after school... and, as they've probably no mates, they have to come here for attention and the easiest way of getting attention is to make stupid comments then sit and home giggling to themselves when people react.... probably

I have nothing bad to say about C8 in terms of crew or guests, they were all fantastic in my opinion. I still think C6 was better simply because I met a few people from TV shows I used to watch when I was a kid but C7 was still a great event. I didn't meet James or Anthony sadly but I suppose when you get there at 10:30am that's what you get lol.

On a really good note, who else met Noel Clarke? What a top bloke, he was asking me about what I thought of the new Dr. Who and seemed to be quite chatty all day and would stand up from the table and walk around to have a photo with you. Kali Rocha was a great guest too, I'd meet both her and Noel again if they were at another show for certain.
