Railok
To be realistic, I think we will have to exclude all the guest wishes regarding British TV stars from like, Doctor Who. I think we'll need to think of the area it's set in, and I don't think any "unknown" british stars would really attract the 'normal crowd' to this event. Mara Jade
How about Viggo Mortensen? I know he's been to Denmark a few times before, displaying photographs and such. Having him would be really cool! (and he's part Dane too) :) Pernilla August is a really good suggestion too! Twilight and Harry Potter is kinda huge in DK at the moment, so having some guests from those movies would attract a younger crowd, whereas "older" guests (spotted John Cleese on someone's list) would attract a more mature crowd. I think we should keep in mind that the Danes are not a seasoned convention going people, so lots of smaller guests wouldn't attract as many people as a few big ones (In my oppinion, at least)
TurkFox
How about going with the Scandanavian theme and getting Stellan Skarsgård?
Christa_Jaina
I agree with Mara. It would deffinately make it more interesting with a few more known celebreties, to attract a Danish crowd. It's definately great that a many from other countries also wants to come, but us Danes here on the board, also hope to attract some of our fellow Danes I like the suggestion with Viggo Mortensen, Stellan Skarsgaard and Pernilla August. They're all more or less Scandinavians. There is of course also Mads Mikkelsen, who's also a Dane, so that's an obvious one as well.
Mara Jade
to be honest, I doubt you'd get the common Dane to pay to meet Mads Mikkelsen. I think many would regard him as "just a Dane", and "Why pay money to meet just another Dane?"

nicky
I doubt you'd get the common Dane to pay to meet Mads Mikkelsen. I think many would regard him as "just a Dane", and "Why pay money to meet just another Dane?" Huh???? Sorry but that's an incredibley ignorant thing to say - arent the Dr Who and HP stars "just another Brit" when they appear at LFCC? Frankly I think getting Scandinavian stars just cos this is Collectormania København is pretty shallow and stereotypical - I'm sure the fans just wanna meet guests from all over and not be restricted to their own nearby talent. Just cos it's in Copenhagen doesnt mean they must have Scandinavian guests or that they might be a good idea. Just look at who the first announced guest is. Think outside the box, people. I'm sure the fans attending wouldn't just pick local talent if they were on here. Edited July 27, 2009 by nicky
Mara Jade
I am really not trying to be ignorant here - but you have to understand that Danes aren't that used to conventions. In England, there's many, many conventions - some in Sweden too, but we haven't really had anything "Big" in DK - plus there's a tradition for simply asking Danish actors for their autograph when people see them on the street (if you have the courage, that is). This isn't unseen in Denmark, so for getting people to pay for "just another Dane" might be hard. I am not saying some Danes would not pay to meet Mads Mikkelsen (or other Danish stars), but it might be hard to convince them, seeing as, as I've said before, convention isn't common in DK. (And yes, I'm a Dane )

Christa_Jaina
Well, I would say Mara is right. And to be honest, I don't think that (I saw you mentioned Dr. Who) I don't think it would be as well received at a Danish convention, because, as far as I know, Dr. Who is not shown on Danish television. There's not that many British tv shows that are shown on Danish tv, and if it is, it's on cable and not national, whereas HP are more known, especially now because of the new movie. But of course, there is the nerds who buy the DVD's who probably know the series. I myself actually only know it by the name, and have no idea what it is about. But, seeing as, there's probably gonna be fans from other countries, maybe an actor or two from Dr. Who is going to take part in the event. You' never know, until all the actors are revealed :)

Yes attracting local people to the event is a good thing but remember showmasters have to cater for everyone going. LLAP
Mr. Mundi
Actually Dr. Who has been shown on Danish TV. DR1 to be exact. Though only the episodes with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor. I found it quite funny. However since he has only been in 13 episodes shown perhaps 2 years ago, then I don't think Denmark is the right place for Doctor Who actors. Most danes just don't know what it is all about. What's popular in Denmark at the moment is Harry Potter. After more than a week in the cinemas it still draws quite an audience. And to name one of the other actors from Collectormania London (since Robert Englund is already going to both) then danish television is showing 90210 at the moment and previously they have shown Beverly Hills 90210 (like 5 times back to back - or so it seems) they have also showed the entire Charmed series, so Shannen Doherty would also be a posibilty if she has the time. I am sure a lot of kids would see her for 90210 and I am sure a lot of guys would see her for Charmed - I know I would. As for danish actors I might be a bit odd here, but I payed to see Mads Mikkelsen at a con and I did get Viggo Mortensens auto at a galla premiere - along with a bunch of girls. But in generel I have to agree, I don't think many danes would pay to get an autograph from a danish actor - but then again, I could be wrong. Though I do see the logic in having perhaps one danish actor at a convention in Denmark. However this should mainly be to attract foreign vicitors (if shouch an actor can be found), because again, I don't think many danes would care to much about meeting a danish actor in person. Nothing bad said about the danish actors though. We have some great danish actors. I just don't think danes in generel want to pay to meet danish actors. Yes attracting local people to the event is a good thing but remember showmasters have to cater for everyone going. Of course there's going to be a lot of people from other countries, but one of the reasons that there is going to be a convention like this, in Denmark, is also to give the Danes a taste for it, so that it might happen again, if this is a success. This is no offence made to anyone, but if it weren't for making other Danes, than those who are already convention goers, then, the convention could have happenned anywhere else. But as I tried to say before, of course those of you that are coming from other countries, should also be excited by the actors that are coming. So, maybe there should be a midway, and the team are probably going to find actors that attract all parts and not just one group :) Okay, Mundi, I actually didn't know it had been shown on DR 1, but there's a reason for that, seeing as I don't watch that channel much anymore, and haven't done that for ten years
HWR
I agree Viggo Mortensen and Stellan Skarsgård would be interesting guests. Another actor of Danish heritage (paternal grandparents were Danish) that might be interesting is Michael Madsen, who played the parts as Bill's brother Budd in the Kill Bill movies. Tim Roth would also be an interesting name, if he attend conventions. From Star Wars minor characters like Bib Fortuna (Michael Carter), Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose), some of the Imperial officers (eg. Veers (Julian Glover), Needa (Michael Culver), Piett (Kenneth Culley) and Jererod (Michael Pennington)) would be good names. Silas Carson (Ki Adi Mundi and Nute Gunray) and Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wessel) would be awesome, as they are very rarely seen at conventions. Finally I have to suggest Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, cult classics from my (and many other Gen-Xer's) childhood.
bordercollie12@gmail.com
Well how about Connie Nielsen, now we are listing Danes. As for Mads Mikkelsen then I must say I think he could be a name that would make the average Joe or Jane attend the convention I think it would be a great actor to get for the convention. HWR
Another name that could be interesting is Bruce Spence, as he is in Star Wars, LotR, Mad Max and The Matrix all four very well known brands. Would also love to see Brian Blessed attend, but not sure if he attends conventions outside The UK.
