I have devised eight groups of four films. I have tried to include the films I think most people would have seen, so there may be several huge omissions of quality films. I have seeded them in a way I think will make for some interesting potential match ups and potential upsets. The way it will work will be each vote for your preferred film will be a goal, you can only vote once per fixture in the interest of fairness and I will give a week for every fixture to allow opportunity for people to get involved. Here are the groups, Fixtures to come very shortly. Hope this all makes sense, as I said I don't know if this will work well or not but if it does it could be fun and something we could do for other genres. Week One saw some interesting results with some classics like The SHining and Evil dead getting white washed and some close groups so far. Don't forget in Champions League tradition Only the top two films from each group goes through to the last sixteen where it will then be sudden death from then on. A great movie though, saw it last night at the BFI following the Q&A with Dario Argento, first time I've seen it on the big screen and it is an absolute crescendo of colour and sound, far better than when I first watched it on VHS many years ago. It is 3 Points for a win. 1 Point for a draw. The Goal Diff is how many votes the film wins or loses by so if two teams are tied for same points at the end of all the fixtures the one who had highest difference of votes will finish higher.
