The Emperor
Ooooo personal!!! I think it must be a certain age group that remember these things. Like I went to the cinema on Tuesday and watched The Goonies at a special screening, and the audience was mostly adults. It was packed out by the way. I think Showmasters were a little short sighted in not organising something similar to this. Especially as they have Corey, Sean and Robert attending. But, I too would love to meet Flash Gordon, Ming would be cool too. I think that is it for guests for this event now, so maybe we should start getting our suggestions in for the next one now.... The Emperor
Jango, you seem to be quite adept at live online chatting now. Welcome to the 21st century. Here's to building a Death Star together!!!

Where was the screening? I was 11 when Goonies came out and never saw it on the big screen. I can even remember if I saw Flash on the big screen or not. As for Showmasters not having a Goonies screening, I agree with what you said. I still believe that this would have been a very popular crowd puller. But as they say, they are not biased, they just like LotR!
The Emperor
The cinema was West India Quay UGC in London. It was in Metro Life, the magazine you get free with The Evening Standard on a Thursday. It was great to watch it on the big screen.
Jangojohnny
Flash has to be an all time classic...with the great Queen soundtrack!! Watched my new Sam movie only to find he has become..............FAT FLASH!! but it's cool (Hey it happens to all space heros- Captain Kirk, Buck Rogers and now Flash) JJ is 31 and feels old on this site...I get the feeling Emperor is about while emotionalvampire about 28...I'm going to check your bios now and see if you filed them in. How will I know who everyone is on the days...I take it we'll be the first in the queues.. I went past MK today and thought I could queue early but that's just silly... emotionalvampire
Nearly right, Im 29. My brother has the original Flash soundtrack and I used to love listening to it. I will be there pretty early but dont really need to be first, not that eager!
Jangojohnny
I'm first in the Sam Jones queue... 29 huh? Not many of us oldies here. We're the Star wars generation We are of that age that we so understand the TV series "Spaced" and the movie "Free Enterprise" as both are based on our generation
emotionalvampire
I already have Sams autograph anyway. I keep meaning to see Free Enterprise, just never got round to it. But we are also of the Blakes 7 generation as well!
Jangojohnny
Yes we are and that's out in a couple of weeks on DVD. Did you meet flash or write to him?? Black hole, close Encounters, Last starfighter, Ulysses 31, ST TMP, Dune, Blade runner and the film we couldn't watch for being too young......Alien
emotionalvampire
No I got it from on of my dealers. Last Starfighter was so cool. It was something like the first film to use CGI and it was done by Atari. I looked for ages for the game!
Jangojohnny
Effects great for the time but what about TRON?? That film has still has got class!! I remember seeing Peter Duncan in Flasgh Gordon and making fun of the Blue peter boy for ages at school. Oh yeah, I also remember someone stealing my Flash sticker album from my bag at school...Any one who is was (Although we're talking over 20 years ago now)
emotionalvampire
I only watched Tron last night because Ive been playing the new game, Tron 2.0. Disney are supposed to have said that if the game does well, they might make a second film.
The Emperor
I filled in that part of my bio. I'm 27 - not too old. I also loved Last Starfighter but didn't much like Tron.
Jangojohnny
Tron is a classic...I can't believe I missed ET off that list. Late 70s and early 80s had great movies...What happened?? Did we grow up or did films get worse?? When they made Flash, they were in fact making part 2 back to back with it but it never happened
emotionalvampire
It was too camp to make a second. Dino De Laurentis has this thing about camp films, look at Barbarella for example!
