  1. That's good to know. Didn't think we'd get it for a few weeks yet. Hoping there are not too many clashes !
  2. Isn't Martin filming at the moment ? This would always make it difficult for him to attend. I know what you mean though, a fantastic event , but if only !
  3. Great news, glad she is back after last years cancellation.
  4. Kristanna was indeed a pleasure to meet a very engaging and interesting person to talk to.
  5. I've been over to Star Trek and Star Wars Conventions in the USA and always found everyone to be friendly and welcoming, so I hope we can be just the same when you come over to attend Sherlock and visit London. The great thing is we already have something in common because we all love Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock, so its fantastic that events like these bring people together with similar interests from all over the World.
  6. Ended up meeting more guest than I had originally planned, but all were great meets so well worth it. On Saturday I had photoshoots with MyAnna, Kristanna and Dave Prowse Special Green Screen Shoot. Got autos from MyAnna, Kristanna, Max, Jeff, Jessie, Roger, Sonita , Nathan and Dan. All were absolutely top notch to meet, very approachable, friendly and made the day very worthwhile. Also attended four talks, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Kristanna Loken and Ray Park, all were information and entertaining.
  7. My first Cardiff event, so can't compare to previous but Saturday seemed to be well attended, fair sized queue for early birds in the morning. Seemed fairly busy in the hall around the middle part of the day, but certainly not on a par with the busiest LFCC's where you sometimes struggle to move around the hall. By later afternoon on Saturday much quieter though and could get to stalls better. My main surprise was that although a lot of people were going in for Early Bird, not many of them seemed to actually be getting autos from the guests. I had met all the guests I wanted to and got autos comfortably before 10.00 a.m. which was very refreshing, meaning I could get on and enjoy the talks, have my photoshoots and browse the stalls later in the day.
  8. On Saturday I got autos and photos at desk with Dan Starkey, Nathan McMullen, Max Grodenchick, Myanna Buring, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Jeff Rawle , Sonita Henry and Jessie Cave. Before the event I had purchase official photoshoot with Myanna and Kristanna. I did get an auto from Kristanna later in the day in Saturday but didn't actually ask for a desk photo as had already got the official photoshoot earlier. So in the main, most of the guests seemed happy to do photos at the desk.
  9. Only had one e-ticket for Cardiff a late in the day purchase for the Dave Prowse Green Screen shoot, but worked fine, crew member scanned my print off no problem , took a couple of seconds and was straight in.
  10. Top guest, MyAnna was lovely, happy to chat and posed for a photo at her table as well as the official photoshoot I had booked. Chatted about Ripper Street and Doctor Who. A real pleasure to meet.
  11. My first Cardiff Comic Con on Saturday. I had bought an early bird ticket and arrived around 8.30 a.m. at the Motorpoint arena , bit of a queue but no where on a par with the London one, although it had stretched quite a way by opening. Crew and Venue staff came down the line regularly checking people were in the correct queue as there was a queue on the other side for pay on the day. Both were clearly sign posted as you came up to the front of the queue lines, so you knew which one to head for. Entry was very quick and was in with in a matter of minutes, no one seemed to be particularly heading for the guests so had gone round and got all my autos with Myanna, Sonita, Jeff, Jessie, Roger, Max, Dan and Nathan (all happy to pose for photos at the table) before 10.00 a.m. and my first photoshoot. All the guests were great, Jeff Rawle in particular was a real character and had a great chat about his love of autograph collecting as well. Bit tricky to find the photoshoots, although there were venue staff at each level they didn't really seem to be clued in to which way to go , but did notice some more signs went up later. Both photoshoots with Myanna and Kristanna went fine. The corridors in the top level of the arena are a bit dark and similar looking though. The rest of the day I doing a range of things, attending the Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Kristanna and Ray Park talks which were all quite enjoyable, the first two particularly well attended. Even asked a couple of questions as well in two of the talks. The talk host did his job well, had some questions ready if needed and everything ran smoothly although bit annoying to get the tannoy interrupting the talks, in every one, but became a bit of a joke by the end of the day. I decided to get the BTTF Delorean shoot which was o.k. for a £5 although quality wasn't great so hoping for better things for the Delorean and Christopher Lloyd Shoot at LFCC. I also had booked late in the day the Dave Prowse Green Screen Shoot with Emperor's throne which went very well, Dave was a top bloke as always. My first e-ticket booking as well which went well. Following Kristanna's talk decided to go and see her again later in the afternoon and as she had no queue had a chat about some of the areas that had come up in her talk and that I had met her back in 2003 when she had been at Collectormania. She thought that was her very first Convention appearance. It was great to have been at her talk previously and whilst she has enjoyed the action roles that have come her way I sensed she had a real drive now to make films through her production company and using her father's books to tell some quite moving , dramatic and more political stories which her action roles had given her the financial ability to be able to do. Really interesting to spend some time talking with her. Catering was very different to the London events, but actually although seemed quite chaotic actually seemed to work well and somewhere in the middle of the day I had a cheeseburger and some chips which was very reasonably priced compared to London prices. Got some great bargain comics from a stall that was having a clearout with everything for 50p, so came home loaded with comics, some lego and yes, some more Funko Pops ! Only real shock of the day was the £18 it cost me to park ! Overall, a very enjoyable first visit to the Cardiff Comic Con, and certainly plan to attend in the future, well worth the early start and drive. Probably would make more of a weekend of it next time to go and explore Cardiff more and some of the Doctor Who and Torchwood locations.
  12. Probably not, but looking forward to seeing what other costumes people come up with ! Although it is tempting ! Hmmmmm !
  13. That's probably sound advice, so budget for the bigger names and if we do get one of them cash to spend elsewhere.
  14. Went for the Gold Package as have not met any of the guests before and have been a long time fan of Sherlock Holmes generally not just the Moffat and Gattis version. First got hooked as quite a young kid watching reruns of the old Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce black and white Sherlock Holmes and then read all the books, watched Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes, Jeremy Brett, who I also went to see as Sherlock on stage and right up to Robert Downey Junior and Johnny Lee Miller, and of course not forgetting a certain Mr Cumberbatch. Aiming to watch the series through again before the Convention if I get the chance. Might get the official event poster signed that comes in the goodie bag, although have picked up a photo for Rupert Graves to sign already. Have a real yearning at the moment to buy a pipe as well to use as a prop for the photo shoots !
  15. Hi I know we won't find these out until we register on the Friday, but could you confirm how these five are allocated, e.g. - Is it completely random ? - Is it a mix, so whilst you won't get a lead guest, might you get Andrew Scott or Rupert Graves and then four guests that were only in one episode for example or everyone gets at least one of the production crew ? It would be helpful to get a feel for this just in terms of planning on how much cash I might need to bring for additional autos. Thanks GG
  16. I met Val , he came to an Autographica event many moons ago in Coventry. Nice guy. Got him to sign pics from Batman, The Doors and Top Gun.
  17. Even better if Wes and Jamie did one at LFCC ! Would love to meet Jamie Lee Curtis.
  18. Here: http://www.sherlocked.com/index.php/tickets
  19. Looks like they already have this in hand, found this on the website: "We are also planning the Sherlock Observation Quiz, an ultimate test for fans to pit their wits and show us their knowledge on this fantastic show"
  20. There used to be some pages that had thumbnail photos showing which guests were at Collectormania, 1,2, 3, etc . Are these pages still available ? It would be good to have something similar for other events as well, even if it was just a text listing, but appreciate that would be a bit of a job for someone to go back and put it all together. The reason I mention it though is people often ask about a guest, who actually has been before, and sometimes not that long ago so it would be good to have a reference archive to check and point them towards.
  21. Probably unlikely. We'll see I guess. Guests can be added up right until the event, so you never know.
  22. Wes would be top of my list to meet, so fingers crossed. It's a good sign that George Romero has been and is attending events again, so raises my hopes we might see a Director like Wes at the event as well.
  23. Based on other events, you tend to find the Lead guests for example will do the paid talks on the main stage, but perhaps some of the other guests like crew guests, Danny Hargreaves and Arwel Jones might do talks for free on the second. This is only speculative of course, but I would be surprised if the Lead guests in particular would do a free talk on the second stage.
  24. I do think the Gold Package is good value for money, would have gone for Platinum but sadly couldn't afford that. Its good to have 12 photoshoots days confirmed today and I do hope that we will also be able to get photoshoot with Steven, Sue, Danny and Arwel as well to complete the set.
