  1. Wolf Kahler, Alison Doody, Alfred Molina to help finish my Raiders/Indy poster.
  2. Only a couple of recents from last year, and two I'm very happy with, from Ghostwatch! Sir Michael Parkinson - super nice guy, sat behind me chatting and having a laugh throughout the screening. Gillian Bevan, again very nice! And an older one - Chrissie from Jaws, Susan Backlinie Not sure if this is a repeat -apologies if so. Sam Raimi - director of the Spider-Man and Evil Dead trilogies, and Drag Me To Hell, amongst others. That's all for the moment!
  3. Wow. Since I made my last post here in 2009, I gave in and started a poster and now have 87 signatures on it, including Harrison Ford and Frank Oz. But I'm running out of room fast. I'd like to get George Lucas and John Williams on it before I retire it.
  4. Finally, top of the list, and dedicated too!
  5. Need Wolf Kahler and Alison Doody now and I can almost retire my Indy poster!
  6. I worked with Murray on Phantom of the Opera in 2003 at Pinewood.
  7. It's a great book, at a great price. I highly recommend it!
  8. Actually, Monsters in the Movies was reduced to £12.99 in The Works recently.
  9. I would most definitely enjoy the books on movies too, is the Universal Horror A Legacy a decent price? I honestly can't remember. I've had it a few years now. About £20 I think? Just checked Amazon and its on there for £17.88
  10. I don't tend to read horror autobiographies, so unfortunately cannot recommend any. I tend to go for books about the films themselves, such as; Crystal Lake Memories, Monsters in the Movies, or Universal Monsters: A Legacy of Horror.
  11. Just seen my first film at the cinema of 2014 earlier this afternoon, and my first horror, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. I'm not quite sure where this sits in the series, as I believed it was a different series of events altogether, but...SPOILER ALERT...it does tie into the existing movies. I won't go as far as to say how. Although the structure of this entry is different (no #night 1 etc), it's pretty much more of the same. Another familiar item is given a spooky spin as a kind of Ouija device, but is nowhere near effective as the rotating fan/video camera scares used in PA3. The cast did fairly well, but the story begins to lose its way midway through, and for the first time since I started with this series, I began to feel that this series may be running out of steam sooner than I expected. However, PA5 is due in its regular October slot later this year, so I'll be on board to see how that pans out. Next up - Devils Due on January 17th.
  12. 1. John Carpenter's Halloween 2. Ghostwatch 3. The Conjuring 4. We Are What We Are (remake) 5. No One Lives 6. Carrie (2013) 7. Curse of Chucky 8. Insidious Chapter 2 9. You're Next! 10. Evil Dead (2013)
  13. So which horor films made the grade for you at the cinema in 2013? Lets have a top 5...or 10 if you saw that many. I will allow Ghostwatch in this, as it had a big screen outing at NFT, and re-issues of classic titles. Also, add a stinkers list if you saw any bad 'un's!
  14. Scary Christmas to the Horror section! It has been great chatting with you all this year. And I will have a brand new horror short film on its way to you in 2014. I'll post details as this progresses.
  15. Superhero flicks. There seem to be plenty about nowadays!
  16. Watched Black Christmas yesterday, Gremlins today, the rest of my week consists of Silent Night Deadly Night, then the remake, Silent Night, and then Christmas Evil for my mini Christmas Horrorthon.
  17. Halloween for me, of course! I based my decision on the fact that, not only has Halloween been my all time favourite movie since I first saw it in 1981 on VHS, but also that, out of the two movies, Halloween closer fits the conventions, and traditional iconography of a true horror movie, whereas Jaws could be seen as a seafaring adventure film along the lines of Moby Dick, which isn't classed as horror.

    Obscure movies

La Cabina (The Phone Box) is an obscure horror that I remember as a kid being shown late on ITV. It hasn't been shown for years, but it's an unusual little film, which you can see here on you tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CABpfvOgbjw
  19. He knows when he has met his match lol!
  20. A couple of others that I've found. Tobe Hooper - Poltergeist and Texas Chainsaw Kane Hodder - Jason in Friday the 13th 7, 8, 9 & X Dee Wallace - RZ's Halloween, The Howling, Cujo William Forsythe - RZ's Halloween Daniel Farrands - Writer of Halloween 6 and the screen used mask
  21. I posted this photo a few days back, and have awoken to the tragic news that we lost Paul this morning. He was such a nice caring guy, as well as a great actor. RIP.
