  1. I have just found out that a consortium of powerful bankers are behind Showmasters. It's all a conspiracy, I knew it!!!
  2. He is a legendary Marvel artists, no less than John Romita, Steve Ditko, etc. and a great writer. Well done Showmasters.
  3. I'd pay £100 to be in the middle of those 2 Let's not give Jason certain ideas about prices
  4. Ok, enough for tonight, I am going to bed now and when I wake up tomorrow and savour my cappuccino I want to see that Martin Landau has been announced... although David Duchovny, Christopher Ecclestone, Catherine Tate, Joanna Lumley would be acceptable substitute. Night night.
  5. me too. along with kenny Baker. ! some people might frown at repeat guests but it isn't allways possible to get round everyone. so ...happy to see him again As far as I can see every time, even if they are regular guests they are always busy.
  6. I am having visions of my bank manager congratulating me for winning the "customer of the year" prize.
  7. Sunny and windy Clacton-On-Sea, extreme East.
  8. I have incidentally taken a picture of a girl dressed up as Rose in the 1950s talking to Lance Henriksen; only later I have realised how good that dress was. Well done! If you are on the forum and you are interested in that picture let me know.
  9. That would be quite funny it would be nice if he came back he was brill last year at MK He played arm wrestling with my son. Very nice guest, bring him back if possible.
  10. Showmasters have stated in the past that "photo warnings" are decided by the guests. This explains why sometimes people are allowed to take pictures or even have posed photos and a few hours later (because the guest is busier or tired, etc.) they are not. It is not fair but this is it, it happened to me several times, in lucky and unlucky terms. I did not have any problems with Karen as a crewmember himself told me we were allowed to take pictures of her signing; Star Art, you must have been particularly unlucky in that moment and I understand your frustration, we have all been there (and we will still be)... Congatulations for your artwork, by the way. Lots of people read the forum, it might be possible that someone else who was behind you has taken a picture.
  11. When I approached Tom Baker with my 8-year-old son he offered him, as usual, one of his jelly babies; my son replied he couldn't accept because he is on a diet and his dad (that would be me) wouldn't allow him. At that point I told my son he could have just one jelly baby but he firmly refused to spoil his diet. Tom laughed and praised my boy for such commitment and said: "you have been a very good boy, I have a present for you"; he took a pound out of his pocket and gave it to him. Priceless.
  12. I didn't meet Frances but I did saw her as I was standing nearby to meet other guests and I really got the impression she was quite friendly, chatty and nice. However, there is one thing that I couldn't fail to notice: she looks younger in presence than the character she played in the Doctor Who episodes. For actors it is usually the opposite. Magic of the make-up dept... I regret I didn't meet her but budget was a bit tight this time, I hope she will be back.
  13. Same here. I met David with my year-8-old boy and he was very pleasant, spent a few seconds which to us seemed an eternity (power of the time lord I suppose); he was also extra nice at the photo shoot too - very nice guest. We had a picture of him and the blu-ray cover signed.
  14. I usually go to conventions with my wife and my 8 years old son; he is ok most of the time but gets tired and bored at times - especially when we spend more than 3-4 hours (one reason I get the gold pass is to cut on endless, although necessary, waiting times). Indeed, it would be great if there were a sort of "nursery/creche" full of toys/games were kids can spend one hour or so; I would be happy to pay £5-7 per hour. Staff should be professional, possibly hired for the week-end from local nurseries, CRB checked etc. I hope Showmasters might consider this possibility. 15. Yes, if I were Italian they would be a dream coming true, the guests of guests. Hey waitaminute, I am Italian...
  16. Wow! Wifey and I had planned to go to Autographica just to get Buzz's autograph and god knows how long we had been waiting for him to come but the price is too high for us. Although we are avid collectors of signatures (more than 200 so far) we decided there must be a limit. The line has been drawn on this one. However, I appreciate Showmasters's effort to bring him here and give us all a chance to meet Aldrin anyway.
  17. Argh! I have just realised that Martin Landau attends conventions! bring him over here please, please, please...
  18. Outstanding photo-composition! Well done, did you make it?
  19. Jenny also appears in other 17 Space: 1999 episodes (Season 1 and 2) as Operative, Nurse or alien. I think she is a teacher. It will be nice to talk to her about the series.
  20. I am already poor... That's it! No more conventions for me for at least 2 weeks.
