  1. Marcus will be there :) Am I allowed to do Ezio??? :)
  2. I must admit I really enjoyed ET5, I came with two lovely ladies and got to meet up with some great friends we have made at previous ETs. I did miss dressing up as Marcus for my photo shoots, and am thinking that may have to return for ET6... The parties were great fun, and I thought the bucking bed was inspired!! The dealers room back to ET3 location was much, much better, I did not visit it during ET4 as could never get in the door, so please keep it there!! I have an idea regarding the guests talk, I don't know if it will work (and I am not volunteering for the role), but have you considered having someone up on stage rather than in the audience, there was a lovely moment when Justin turned and fake interviewed Jodelle, and I just think if you had someone sat on stage with the guys they could probe a bit and let it flow more naturally, a Jeremy Clarkson or Graham Norton type character (but not famous as this would detract form the guests and money I am sure fans would prefer spent on the big named guests). You may have tried this in the past, I don't know but maybe it could work? I thought the guests this time were all very good fun and thoroughly enjoyed all of the talks. I found the attendees to be all very well behaved and certainly the whole event seemed to be much more relaxed! Special praise to the lady that was organising photo shoot A on Saturday, you had everything arranged with such military precision it made the whole day so much more relaxing for us attendees and you deserve a massive great big gold star!! And of course thanks as always to TooTall, the hall loading and the itinieries were seamless as ever! One other thing, Massive Events, please make some DVD's of these events, we would buy them and would love to have those extra special memories to keep!! Oh and I would rather the event was merged with something else than just stopped! Thanks John (or Shrek as some of you may have known me this weekend)
  3. As far as I understand it (and I hope I am right) those of us who are genuinely purchasing the executive rooms and suites through the Hilton at the correct prices will not be penalised. I think one of two things is happening (Maybe both) but I don't know. 1) People are paying for lounge only access, if this is the case I am very, very unhappy with the Hilton! 2) People are buying cheap rooms on the convention rate and then upgrading to executive rooms when they arrive at a reduced rate, again unacceptable on the Hilton's part. On our first con, myself and Sarah stayed in one of the suites, and as such had exec room access, it was lovely to go and chill out in the day time, quite often just the 2 of us. We had a few problems with the Hilton (absolutely nothing to do with Showmasters) which I frankly did not expect to experience in a £350 a night room. Apologies were made and a complimentary upgrade offered for our next visit (ET4). When we came back for ET4, we were in the executive queen rooms and again used the executive lounge as a chill out area, myself more than Sarah and Emily, as I decided I was happy to chill out whilst they were down for the talks. The lounge was a fair bit busier than the time before but not packed, and personally, I come on these weekends because a) Sarah loves them and I love the parties, I would still come if there were no guests, so when I did encounter the guests in the lounge (Gill Birmingham, came and joined me whilst i was sat on my own) I just treated them like any other person (nod of the head, a hello, or an excuse me if they were stood in my way lol) and it was again very lovely. This time I was thoroughly disappointed, I paid full price for the exec room, and at times I went there for a chill out and could not get a seat, there was definatley something not right!! I will be booking exec room again for ET6 because I like these rooms and normally like the lounge, I will however be speaking to the Hilton, as I feel very robbed if people are going in there without paying! I hope the Hilton resolve this and things go back to how they were for ET3 and ET4!!
  4. I think David summed this up perfectly before when he commented around 2 people can view the same activity from different perspectives or mindsets and can have a totally different view on it. This dies not make what either party says untrue, is merely a different inturpretation if the same event. I would love to see a petting zoo again in the future safe in the knowledge that showmasters really do have the best interests of the animals at heart, maybe if the zoo had some flyers/leaflets nearby promoting the good work they do it would serve 2 purposes, one people would have concerns addressed proactively and 2) maybe they would receive donations from what is after all a lovely bunch of people :)
  5. C'mon guys please just give us at least one theme!! Many people put so much effort in to their costumes and look fantastic it really would be a shame if they had no time to get their costumes together!! Thank you!!

  15. Part 2 – Saturday…. Ok, so I forgot to say how pleased both of us were with the gift bag we received when we registered on the Friday, Thank you! This was a lovely surprise. Ok, so we awoke on Saturday morning after a great nights sleep and went down to start collecting our autographs, I had written down all the times we had to be at different places, so was feeling all organised and knew we had a gap when we would be able to get breakfast later. We went down to the hall and pleasantly surprised when we were told that we could collect all 3 autographs whilst we were in the room and did not have to come back at the set times for each one. This whole process was so well organised, and the post it notes that were brought round to write names on whilst we were queuing was fantastic. All of the staff were extremely, friendly, courteous and helpful and meeting the guests for the autographs was good fun. Once we had finished in the hall, we headed up to the 5th floor for breakfast, which was very nice and a good opportunity to relax and take a breath! All refreshed, we then headed back down and I put our names on the list for a guest encounter with Christopher, we went to see John Henson’s costume collection – this was fantastic, and what a lovely friendly guy he was! we also took the opportunity to visit the dealers room, I guess this probably had less stuff in than I was maybe expecting, but I couldn’t honestly tell you what was missing, maybe the size of the room just made it seem a bit empty? We then went to the Voturi talk at 2:30 – this was brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Again the queuing and calling in process that Too Tall was running was seamless, and we knew we would be near last called in. Still had fairly central seats and a good view, the big screens really helped! We left this guest talk I had a smoke and a drink then headed into our guest encounter with Christopher, pleasantly surprised that the price we paid was quite a bit under the bid. The guest encounter was brilliant, I was sad that we were missing the costume talk as thought that would be good, but Christopher was great, we did not have the full 12 people, we had 3 French Ladies, myself and Sarah and another 3 English ladies. Chris was great fun, he spoke at times in French to our French guests, and one of the French ladies very kindly translated the conversation for us – Thank you!! We bumped into these same 3 ladies from across the channel several times after this over the weekend and they were absolutely lovely and very friendly!! So please, please don’t anyone tar all with the same brush! After the guest encounter we had the final talk of the day, then up to the room for room service steak and chips for me and ham & cheese toasted sandwich and chips for Sarah, both of which were fabulous!! Then it was time to get ready for the 2nd party…. Much more relaxed going to the party on Saturday night, we now knew a fair few people and were feeling very happy and relaxed (if a little tired!!) We loved the fairground stalls and won 2 cuddly toys ïŠ The music was good, although Sarah’s dress was not the best for dancing in, we had a fabulous night and retired to bed again at about 1am tired but very , very happy! We did notice when Charlie walked in the big horde of people that descended on him, and this was a pity, but I guess is human nature, we stayed out the way!! Sunday and final thoughts to follow in part 3….
  16. Omg dude its you the sparkley guy from Sunday night who works for Virgin!! I was the girl dressed as Edward Cullen Hehe, that's me :) Hi, remember you too!! Was a great weekend, and you guys all looked fab!!!
  17. Part 1 – Some general comments and Friday feedback Well, firstly apologies it has taken me so long to get on here and send in my feedback. As a few of you will know I bought tickets to ET3 as a surprise Xmas present for my girlfriend, and really had no idea what to expect. I took the gamble and bought the ET4 gold tickets as soon as they went on sale, and all I can say now is I am so glad I did!! Both myself and Sarah had an absolutely wonderful weekend, the whole weekend was extremely well organised, getting 900 people through all the photo’s, talks, autographs etc. is no mean feat and I can only imagine the amount of hard work that goes in to this. The parties were amazing, we dressed up for all 3 and I am so glad we did, even if I am still finding bits of glitter on me nearly a week later!! Having never been on a weekend like this before, I must admit we both found it a little daunting when we arrived, however, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and courteous, and being a smoker, I soon bumped into some friendly fans outside on the Friday night (you know who you are girls) and they welcomed us to join their group, which was very nice. I think looking back now, Friday night walking into the party was the most daunting, with large tables of around 10-12 chairs round each with people sat at them, we kind of did a couple of laps of the room, thinking hmm, who do we talk to? Who do we sit with? But this was soon overcome when we spotted the afore mentioned group of ladies ïŠ I think the fact that we had dressed in party theme helped, and we were soon up dancing and making new friends all in all an ace night!! Rewinding slightly to the opening ceremony, we were fairly high number tickets (standard 376 and 377) so went in near the back, but we knew this to be the case before we left home on Friday morning so no surprise there ïŠ. We entered the hall, found 2 seats next to a group of 5 very rude girls (yes, they happened to be French, but we met girls from all other Europe over the weekend and this particular group were the only rude people we met all weekend). They proceeded to tell us the seats we were sitting in were their friends, this left me in a dilemma, I knew I had read on the forums about no seat saving, but I am now out of my comfort zone, surrounded by 900 people of which I know 1 (my girlfriend). do I want to cause a fuss and make enemies before I have even made 1 friend? I opt to keep quite and just move along nearer the edge and keep the 2 seats empty for their friends (the seats remained empty for the duration of the ceremony) – ho-hum lesson learnt, will speak up next time ïŠ. Absolutely nothing ME could do about this, because I opted not to bring it to their attention! So That is Friday done, the registration was seamless, we had bought the photos we wanted for the weekend with no problems, partied till about 1am and made some new friends. Time to go get some rest and see what Saturday would bring….. Part 2 will follow shortly...
  18. I will be wearing red contacts, 2nd go at putting them in tonight and managed to do it in only 20 minutes lol, hopefully I can keep them in for at least a couple of hours this time before going through the nightmare that is taking them out!!! Hopefully by sunday night I will be a little more used to them!!
  19. Thanks guys, see you all in 10 days :) guess I am gonna have to sit on mine and the girlfriends hands!!! :)
  20. better than the tickets for this, new dress, hotel and gold tickets for e4 etc? Damn it I never knew where this was gonna lead when I innocently bought some tickets as a Xmas present lol :) out of interest do meal tickets ballpark go for a few hundred quid if nearer the grand mark from past events? Thanks for the replies, much appreciated!
  21. Hi, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I am thinking I would maybe like to take the better half out for dinner on the Saturday evening before the party, looking at et2 schedule it looked like the day finished around 6 and the party started at 8.30 are these ballpark timings about right. I.e if I book a table for dinner at 7 she shouldn't miss out? Thanks
  22. Brilliant, thankyou, will book in now, see you all in February :) (no doubt the better half will be joining the forum and chatting to you all after Xmas) :)
  23. Thanks for the replies guys, will hang on until 23rd and see what happens, before printing and wrapping :) One other question, as neither of us have ever done anything like this before I am wondering if it will matter that we are not booked into the Hilton? I have not booked in yet, and when I rang them they said they are fully booked, now wondering if I should book in to the premier inn nearby, or wait and hope a room becomes available nearer the time...Anyone with previous experience, know if they normally get rooms nearer the date come free? Thanks again for your help all of you!!
