  1. I would die a happy man if you had a Due South reunion (20th anniversary of the start) Paul Gross and David Marciano have cross series appeal and even though I hated him for the role he took over at the time Callum Keith Rennie would be great as well
  2. Well, having a few of thoose could be fun, its trivia. But to much of it aint good. I could not agree more the most disappointing talks I have gone to was RDA's at Chevron, probably my one and only time in my life I will see him and the majority of questions asked were about what his family was doing, he was funny but in the 2x1 hour of alloted time for his talks (not counting group talks) you had to wait until the last 20 minutes of the second talk before even one question was asked about Stargate (this was a Stargate convention after all)
  3. Now I know why the Double Tree has no rooms available for the weekend, I have stayed there for the last 2 years but not this time. A bit shocked at the price of these tickets the most I ever paid for 1 night is £60 so paying nigh on £100 extra on top for access to an exclusive guest etc is a bit too steep as I will be coming alone this year so I will stay at a cheaper hotel and maybe buy an 'party ticket' if they are available
  4. I had the same problem had to put 0 in the field so my order was processed hopefully it will still work as my card does not have an issue number lol
  5. OMG it's the end of the world you are not going to buy a photoshoot surely that's the first sign of the apocalypse lol better keep an eye out for the next sign that is Naoko Mori being announced at a con at you saying you are not bothered to see her
  6. Just did a quick total myself and there are 36 different celebs announced so far in the Guest days and prices thread (not including sports stars) last years Collectormania 16 had 71 so hopefully there are a lot more to be announced
  7. Cool another thing to buy to make this convention unique, just waiting for the announcement of the Exclusive Convention Mankini and I will buy the lot (only joking)
  8. Tell me about it perhaps they expect us 'larger' people to buy 2 XL t-shirts and put them together
  9. Any guests from the criminally under requested show Due South Paul Gross, Calumn Keith Rennie, David Marciano and of course the great Gordon Pinsent but any one else would be great
  10. Taxi I know that but it is quite a distance and I expect it would be expensive lol what I meant was is there a paid bus service that goes to the stadium instead? sorry for not being clear
  11. I take it this means the free bus will not be running to the stadium on the Friday then, does anyone know what is the easiest way to get to the stadium if this is so as I am staying at the hotel there on the Friday and have only ever caught the free bus.
  12. Limo ? For that price I would expect Too Tall to give me a piggy back to the restaurant
  13. Is Philip Glenister there both days now because as I read it he has photo shoots both days ???
  14. Well I have just saved myself £70, originally booked for 2 nights at the beginning of the year on the hotels website it was going to cost me £199 to stay at the thistle just cancelled it as I have just used laterooms.com and they only charged £129.26 for a twin room (£64.63 a night)
  15. RageMe

    Ticket numbers

Got mine today Silver 58 (ordered Last Friday)
  16. I have probably more disposable income than most people (I have spent over £3000 in the last 2 months on cons alone) but even I am struggling, the problem is the money I put aside for a ticket for this con was taken up by buying a gold ticket for Chevron 7.4 which was only announced at 7.3 last month. I will buy a gold ticket but cant this month because of Christmas but will buy one next month (if it is still going ahead).
  17. Well they got him, but at a con I have no interest in he was announced for Eternal Twilight 3 yesterday Link
  18. Have you tried Jacamo, not tried them myself but seen the adverts on the tv and they do clothes for the larger person jacamo.co.uk
  19. 3 weeks to go and still keeping an eye out for that elusive thread... I would not hold your breath The lack of updates on this con has me a bit worried I bought a gold ticket over 3 months ago and apart from the David Blue announcement (which is great but extra autographs/photoshoot of his have not even been added to the shop) nothing has really happened in that time it's almost as if this con has been forgotten in amongst the other much busier cons.
  20. I was at a con (which cant be named) this past weekend with him and he is one of the most friendly and funny men you could ever find and I would love to meet him again but as it's been said elsewhere they have to agree to not do other cons in the UK for so many months after so he will not be at Chevron 7.3 which is a pity as the man is mad as a hatter and made the weekend
  21. I saw this thread on the Hub 3 and thought I would start one in here as I have now bought my ticket for my first con and I am a male going on my own (very rare at this con I know). As much as I would like to talk on the other threads I dont feel qualified to talk about what dress/makeup I am going to wear lol so if there are any guys out there going introduce yourself and we can meet up at the bar
  22. I'm a year older. I also saw all three original Star Wars movies at the cinema on their original release, which makes me a dinosaur here, I'm guessing. But just to prove that stereotyping doesn't work - I absolutely know who Edward James Olmos is - Bladerunner is one of my all time favourite movies. But I also went to Eternal Twilight and am booked for the second one too. Not everyone who likes Twilight is an idiot with no concept of the genre. And trust me, not all of us are into the screaming - just read the threads on the ET forum complaining about the conduct of a small proportion of attendees and you will get the gist. And not all the tweens and teens are screaming morons either - some of the older fans are way worse. I think we just have to accept that a lot of these fans are just new to this stuff. It's just sort of sad to me that people are so disparaging about something that is bringing new people into the world of cons and signing events. We all had to start somewhere. For me it was my brothers' Fangoria magazines, Stephen King novels and Universal Studios monster movies collection. Those led me on to other genre stuff. So maybe someone who starts out on Twilight because Rob Pattinson is cute checks out 30 Days of Night next and then goes from that to The Thing or whatever. Totally agree, I have seen Twilight and I liked it and I can definately see the attraction for the 'younger' generation but if you go back 10 years ago when Buffy was big I am sure the older generation then joked about the fans it's all part of the fun
  23. Absolutely. The has stuck with me to this day. I was really pleased to find it on YouTube a couple of months back. I recall The Chiffy Kids' theme too. Alas, that's eluded my internet searches, though. Tell me about it lol damn you with that link I will be singing it all day now lol
  24. Yeah, and I recall getting quite impatient with these support films, some of which were feature-length. C'mon, start the proper film! My earliest cinema-going memory is probably The Land That Time Forgot (1975). My main memory of seeing Star Wars on its first run was that I was bored by the long battle at the end. Mind you, it could have been worse. Rumours had gone round at school that the film was five hours long. When it finished after two, I was a bit disappointed, despite the film losing me in the final 20 minutes. I saw ET with my best friend, David. We sat there, two 12-year-old boys, trying our hardest not to cry. When ET was on his 'deathbed', David leant in to me and started making funny noises, in an obvious effort to distract us both. It didn't work. Did anyone ever go to the 'Saturday morning pictures'? I was a regular in the early '80s. My mum would drop me and a friend off at the cinema at 9am, and go off and do her shopping for three hours, while we enjoyed cartoons, short films and a main feature, and loaded ourselves full of sweets. It was anarchy in the stalls most weeks, as a couple of hundred kids, high on Sherbet Fountains and Panda Pops, seized the opportunity to run riot in the absence of their parents. We need a dedicated 'old-timers' thread, I think. Twilight-free. 'Saturday Morning pictures' ah that brings back memories, any one remember Chico The rainmaker . The other vivid memory of them was that one week they 'accidently' showed Sheena (with Tanya Roberts showing full nudity great for a 12 year old lol) and the manager having to come out the next week and apologise lol
  25. I got that beat - I remember seeing ET at the cinema on it's initial run. Me too. That was back in the days when half of the cinema was smoking, and someone came out halfway through the film with Kia-oras. But seriously people - a lot of people on this forum weren't born in 1992, let alone 1982! Wow that makes me ancient then I was born in 1972 lol
