  1. October 2008 in Northampton........
  2. Maki was there at CIV, he was handing out CE contracts as I chatted with some of the guests. Also Carrie's line was 'No Posed Photos' which was enforced by Official Pix. I know a couple of people got them and she was fine with this, but if OP saw they stopped you from doing it. Whereas next to her Anthony Daniels was posing for photos with everyone. Obi The point was that Maki was not with Carrie at CIV and photos were allowed the first day only stopped due to the size of her queue building up........
  3. To my knowledge Maki did not come with Carrie the last time she came over, so I think that helped, just look at the recent CIV Carrie was fine, having pictures taken, chatting and really fan friendly and there was no Maki. Derek Maki will be all over Hamill for the first two days and probably with Williams on Sunday, so I don’t think anyone will get anything apart from a rushed auto.........
  4. "Mr. Hamill’s appearance is VERY LIMITED. He will be appearing on Friday and Saturday ONLY and will only be available for approx 3 hours each day! MARK HAMILL (£85.00)" I am glad he is going but £85.00 per auto, that is crazy........
  5. I cant see the date on the website.........
  6. I am surprised that Mayhew and Baker have not been announced......
  7. I would be interested 'greedo_uk' but I seem unable to send email......
  8. Don't you think we have a right to air our concerns considering what we've spent/will be spending on this event? Also, I think most people wouldn't be doing it here (the whinging) if Celebration Europe had its own forum - but it doesn't. Finally, I have no real loyalty to Showmasters, but having attended a lot of events organised by different companies/people I can honestly say that their organisation, communication and obvious dedication is second to none. Showmasters are also happy to take criticism where it is due and encourage feedback from their customers, which is why I believe they are the company that give us what we want. They respect their custom base and deliver well organised shows. And you only have to look at the quality of guests and the number of first timers these guys (SM) manage to attract in comparison to other events as an example of their expertise and commitment. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU 'Darth_Owl' APART FROM ONE THING " I LOVE SHOWMASTERS" THEY ARE THE ONLY COMPANY IN THE UK WHO KNOW HOW TO PUT A CON ON
  9. I AM GLAD THAT I AM WHINING AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL THINGS CHANGE WITH THIS EVENT................
  10. Haven't had mine yet - but it says you may not get them til the last minute But the way things are going that does not surprise me........
  11. Hi Lee I cannot talk about the event as you may have worked out by now. Sorry. However I understand how you feel, I'm a fan like yourself as well. I was a fan of Star Wars back in '77 and was still a fan in the late 80s when it was out of fashion. I have been waiting 15 years to be a part of a team running the ultimate Star Wars event, but it's turned out that this is not the year it will happen for me. I have run many unofficial events over the years but I still haven't realised my dream. But maybe one day... but i have been thinking, it's easy to forget that Star Wars is just a business to some people, which is fine as long as it's fair for all concerned. The collectors, fans, actors, organisations that invest in product licences, tv companies that buy the rights to air the shows, they all have to make money so that new shows, films and products can be made. It's just the way of things, and most of the time Lucasfilm get the balance right between profit and looking after the fans and the licensees. What is nice is that Lucasfilm are happy for fans to put on events and they understand that we care. So don't get too upset as there will be other Star Wars events and fun entertainment in the future. I have been asked if there are to be any more Empire Days this year. I re-started the Empire Days after a long gap to try to help drum up interest in the bigger event I was working on at the time.i fogot how much fun it is to meet up with other fans and it was also great to track down unusual guests and have a chance for the actors to meet the fans to . And after 30 years they are getting older and the chance to meet some of them is running out. So I have decided to carry on running these events, for the fans, myself and the actors. And I have also decided to try to track down some more lost Star Wars actors, with the help of Michael, Graham and Dean. Believe it or not there are still a lot of really good actors with talking parts who have never met the fans!and i think its down to us to make this happon. So to start with at LFCC we will try to get at least 15 new Star Wars guests. We already have Al Lampert, so there's 14 more to go! if you could let people know it will help alot thanks Jason JASON YOU ARE THE MAN. I HOPE THAT ONE DAY YOU CAN HAVE YOUR DREAM. AND I HOPE WE ARE ALL THERE TO SHARE IT WITH YOU.......
  12. At last some official guests......
