1. Well to get to London I'm using two one way tickets... One is easy jet to London, and the other is Ryan Air back form London... That made it cheaper for one, and it means I get to have 3 full days in London cos Ryan Air had a relativelt late flight on the way back which Easy Jet didn't and Easy Jet had a much earlier flight to London than Ryan Air so that's just taking the best of both worls. Shop around is all I can say, cos I've never flown anywhere, ever, so I woulnd't know anyhting about travelling.
2. Well there is that, but you have to appreciate that people really want to see people, and some have to travel a good distance, some more than others because they may never ever get to see the guest they want because they might never come to their country... I know I've never heard of any Stargate folk in ireland, not least in Cork so I make the decision based on the knowledge that my preferred guests will be there in London. Yes it's made clear that anyone can cancel at anytime but that is not a basis for decision, the decision is made and money is spent after being being told that the prefered guest will be at said location and at said time, so it's not fair to say either that it's a persons own fault for spending so much money only for a guest to cancel because it's not, this is because they were told someone would be somewhere and that they'd be able to see them but no-one is told who won't be attending, until it happens and by then a decision has been made, even for a long time, especially if it happens a week before the event, people are only told that some guests might canel, not that they will cancel... ya get me?
3. No-ones having a go at you, you were being helpful :) I apologise if it sounded otherwise. We're just saying it would have been nice to have stargate from the start since these days its an often overlooked show now (except when it comes to this years lfcc ) If I wanted to get really picky, I could bring up that BSG or 24 isnt there either, or CSI But im not 963341 I think you just did.
4. |Tommy T, I think the original poster didn't mean to accuse anyone, but I think that some guests may or may not have a very lax attitude toward these things... kinda like, "Hey mr. Big, would you like to do a signing at London Film and Comic Con" and they might just say "Yeah sure, what the hell" and not give it any more thought, and just realise that they may have something else on or just don't want to do it... I'm in no way saying that, this is how things work, but just that, that might be an attitude that may appear from some people... I don't know if that makes sense to you, but it makes sense in my head.
5. Yeah, there's always that cancellation possibility at the back of your mind, but if we kept concentrating on who might cancel, then I'd probably never go... I just hope that no one cancels, especially for £900+ that's just... holy crap... I'm tryin to keep my expenditure to the minimum, and I hope nothing goes wrong, and I realy hope Murphy's Law has nothing to say about it.
6. I've already spent/going to spend enough on this, between my passport and booking the plane, so if the ones I wanna see back out, I'm gonna be super pissed... In the end there's nothing at all I can do about it, but I really, really hope that no one backs out, not just the ones I wanna see, but anyone at all, because there is someone for everyone.
7. 962180 meaning they're "the norm" until it's said that personalisations can't be made if a guest is busy...
8. ah ok cool... Personalisations are the thing unless stated otherwise, that's the job.
9. hmm all these gaters... gonna make for quite a queue... But sur... I'll see ye in the queue lads... good fun.
10. Personalisation? is that like where you ask will they write something along the lines of "To Rising Phoenix you're the greatest" or something like that? Or is it when they sign something else other than the images they're signing from the desk or whatever, like a picture of yourself for example.
11. Ditto. I'm looking forward to meeting Rachel, but Torri is my reason for braving my crowd phobia. 961463 I woulda thought that lookin at your avatar... well what ever happens... See you there.
12. I watched one episode and I just didn't get it at all... Also, I'd love to meet someone from "Over There" but that's probably way too different a genre to even consider.
13. I went for the Wrestling Legends... I'd absoluttely would love to meet Stone Cold Steve Austin... And thinkin anout it, I think that still gets my vote cos 3 SG people to 0 wrestling is a ratio I wanna make smaller. *fingers crossed* it's unlikely but we live in hope.
14. Rachel Luttrel's my number 1. Torri Higginson and Don S. Davis... I might wanna see Jorge Garcia, not cos of Lost, but cos he's in Becker and I love Becker. And maybe Richard Dreyfuss just for my dad... my get his autograph if I can for me daddy. And any new announcements will also be taken into serious consideration.
15. I've added Stargate 960991 Damn you I want to revote on this poll now!!! 960994 Me too
16. 9/10 Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood.
17. My big bro met him when he was playing in London with his band Fozzy. Who btw are unreal!
18. If you think Stone Cold Steve Austin and Jack Bauer should appear at LFCC4 gimme a HELL YEAH!!
19. Me too. More Stargate please!!! 958274 I went with the Wrestling cos SG wasn't on the list, but I'd like more Stargate folk. But in saying that, if they got Stone Cold to come then eh... I'd go witht he Wrestling.
20. Ideally, and the best person for me that they could ever ever bring, is WWE's Stone Cold Steve Austin. he would absolutely be the single greatest person for me to meet. That'd be wrestling legends btw.
21. Funnily enough I'd actually like some Harry Potters actors.
22. It's unlikely to come from me as I detest Star Trek. 955766 I'd prolly get her autograph for my dad or something. He was into Star Trek fo a while. While I liked The Next Generation, I wouldn't really want her autograph... but sur, if she's free (relatively) and I'm around I might take a wander over to her table.
23. Correct, whilst the number on the board is lower than your VT number you will not be allowed to join the "actual" queue. Once the number on the board is higher than your VT number you can join any time after that. As long as you're happy to be there until 4-4:30pm you'll have no problem getting the Stargate people if you don't arrive until 10-11am. 955092 Length of time spent is no real bother to me, I'm there for the weekend and prolly will have nothing else to do cos my bro'll be workin Saturday so we can go around London City on the Sunday so all should be good.
24. Me too. But I got no Gold Pass. costs way way too much and the site doesn't really make it seem worth it. 953627 u wont be saying that on the day, its gonna be buuuuuuuuusy! 953733 I'm dually prepared for that, but the Gold Pass says you can join the back of any queue, so no matter what, I'd be waiting just as long as I would without it until it got close to my V.T. (Wich by the way, what would be a good number to allow before joining the queue? would it be 100, 50, 20? or would it be a case of just join the queue and wait it out?) Cos not knowing my way around London means I'll more than likely arrive somewhat late. 953744 I think you're miss understood the VT system. Please read the FAQ. You need to get your VTs straight away. You need a VT for each guest you want to see. Your VT number is your place in the queue. Only about 30 people actually queue up at a time. You can not join the back of this queue of 30 until your VT number is up. i.e. If you are number 179, it's like you have 178 people in front of you, but only 30 will actually be in the queue. You must wait until the number at the end of the queue goes up to over your VT number (i.e. 180) before you can join the queue. But with a Gold Pass, it's like having VT number 1 for all the guests, you can join the back of this queue of 30 at anytime. PS: If you're going to arrive after 10-11am you're VERY unlikely to get to see Elijah. 954979 Oh right, so after my number comes up, not before, I should join the queue? which mean there's more than likely 30 people in the queue ahead of me? Rather than leaving a margin of 'x' numbers before trying to join the queue? I've no plans on meeting ELijah, but if I were to arrive at that time I'd be alright for the Stargate people?
