  1. The Friday preview here was busier than MK Saturdays!!
  2. I was at the preview night. Whilst it was definitely quieter than today, it was far busier than the Friday preview last year. I arrived at 6:10pm with my silver pass letter and walked in pretty much straightaway (once they had found the woman with the wrist bands, who was not by the door). It was possible to browse the stalls (not possible to do that today without the crushing), queue for photo shoots (without getting crushed by the hordes trying to get past) and get autographs in relative comfort. The guests I met were friendly and they were all posing for photos over the tables (some other guests weren't, but not many). The comic hall was really quiet yesterday - I didn't even try and get in there today so not sure what it was like...
  3. If you don't have any sort of entry ticket sorted, you will need to get there REALLY early to have a chance of getting in. Sunday might be a little bit quieter, but to be honest I wouldn't risk it myself at all without a ticket. Get there a good 2-3hrs before it opens and queue for an early ticket and you should get in. Good luck!
  4. Yes, it was particularly grim-smelling in there today... Ergh...
  5. I have a comic silver pass which I picked up yesterday when it was quieter. I was able to get in straightaway when I turned up today - but I can say for sure without that pass I would not have bothered waiting. When I got to Summer Glau (which was about 11:15) she was signing 1-80 and they were giving out VQs up to 1200 - without my pass not a chance to meet her. Crazy numbers. It was hard to breathe in there, impossible to look at the stands because of the sheer volume of people, and to be honest didn't make for a pleasant experience. I got the 4 autos I came for and left. I wish I didn't have to come back tomorrow, but it's the only day the Atlantis folks are there so I will brave it. I feel really bad for all the people who were queuing outside still when I left (around 1:30pm). At least the weather was nice I guess. I really love these events but I think this will be the last LFCC I attend unless they put some sort of limit on attendees...
  6. No one has any idea about this. I asked the girl selling one at the auction stand today and she said they would call the numbers after one of the talks, but you had to be at the stage to hear it (but she didn't know which talk!). If you weren't there, basically tough. I don't think this one was thought through very well this time!
  7. They were on sale at the organisers booth - I only found that out because I saw someone else with one and asked where they got it. They are nice programmes though!
  8. No one seemed to know anything about this today when I was there. I bought my programme and asked where the winning numbers would be put up - was told there was nothing happening tonight and to check again tomorrow but they weren't sure! Anyone else get a confirmed answer? Thanks..
  9. Yes, it is pretty much the same as the rough one shows!
  10. He's on a pretty tall stool, so it's not that awkward :-) If you are tall there might be a bit of crouching, but he's a pro - ready and smiling and will react to what you do. Enjoy it!
  11. He is sat and you stand. It is a well-oiled conveyor belt of photos - there are a crew of people telling you where to stand, moving you along and out the way. Stan was lovely, he says 'hi, how you doing' and 'thank you', 'nice pose' etc. He was smiling the whole time - really lovely guy. But it was fast - superfast, no time for chit chat - and the queue was HUGE!!!
  12. Probably - sorry! Unless he gets quiet by the end - he was pretty busy the whole time but did have a smile and a chat for everyone...
  13. He had a sign up saying no posed photos and no personalisations....plenty of sharpies though!
  14. My spreadsheet tells me £250 on autographs. I did remove Stan Lee because I don't want autos that aren't personalised and it is highly likely that will be the case with him - I booked a photoshoot instead when they were £35 so I will be happy with that. On the day this will probably double due to a commission from one of the big comic guests and a teensy bit of merchandise
  15. Sweeeeeeet - I love these, definitely going to get the Emperor's throne! Now all we need is a greenscreen Stargate!!
  16. I'd never go into triple figures, that's my rule, but I would get close to that for Christopher Lee or Ian McKellen, and I probably would go fairly high if I ever got near Richard Dean Anderson who is the only SG1 cast member I don't have
  17. Travelling from - Aylesbury Travelling arrangements - Train in each day Hotel - No Days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday Going with - alone Cosplay - no Autographs - Stan Lee, Summer Glau, Sean Maher, Philip Grieve, Jono Manks, David Hewlett, Sharni Vinson, Guy Siner, Kristian Nairn, Finn Jones, Gethin Anthony, Pedro Pascal, Natalie Dormer, Will Tudor, Kate Dickie, Ian Beattie, Jack Donnelly, Robert Emms, Sarah Parrish Photos - Stan Lee, possibly some doubles if they get announced (Summer/Sean) Talks - True Believers Comic Awards Predicted cost - c£400
  18. I only get the 10x8s signed so I always go for personalisations - I like it when it refers to something we have spoken about, or is a quote from the show.
  19. A gold pass for LFCC is a must for me. I am aiming for 20 guests this time and can't imagine doing it without one. As soon as you start factoring in the big and busy guests that you want to meet, then it gets more likely you might have to start missing people. Even with a gold pass you still have to wait at the back of the auto queue (albeit any queue, rather than when your number is called) and they don't always move that fast. Then considering guests will be up and down with photo shoots, lunch breaks, rest breaks, then it gets quite a rush. For me the benefit is not having to queue outside the venue for a long time before it opens - I can just turn up when I like, go straight in, and start queuing for guests. I wouldn't bother with a gold pass for Milton Keynes, but for London I wouldn't go without one.... Also, if you only have one full day and the Friday, then you are already cutting it fine - still doable without if you get there *really* early though!
