  1. David and Freema have done a signing at a High Street store for the release of the DVD box set for series 3 but I gather the leads are not allowed to do normal signings/conventions while they are still in the series. Obviously the BBC didn't mind the one that would result in 300+ copies of the DVD being sold. Billie did a signing tour for her book when it came out. I've booked a ticket for the exhibition on the day of LFCC. Nip out at lunch time, visit the exhibition and then pop back to LFCC. Series 4 will be over so hopefully some new props etc.
  2. 10th Planet's website has now confirmed that Bernard Cribbins has had to cancel due to work commitments.
  3. This was posted on Outpost Gallifrey with info which was provided by 10th Planet to advise the days people will be attending. Amy Manson has been added. She was one of the Torchwood women who recruited Jack at the end of season 2 during the Victorian era flashbacks. She is not yet listed on the official website and Bernard Cribbins has had to pull out due to work commitments. KAI OWEN - Saturday & Sunday MIKE TUCKER - Saturday & Sunday PETER DAVISON - Saturday GEORGIA MOFFETT - Saturday TERRY MALLOY - Saturday YAMIT MAMO - Saturday SHERIDAN SMITH - Saturday ALEXANDRA MOEN - Sunday CHIPO CHUNG - Sunday COLIN BAKER -Sunday AMY MANSON sunday TOM PRICE - Sunday SASHA BEHAR - Sunday
  4. To be honest, I don't think they mentioned anything about unlicensed photos. They don't tend to sell photos for signing by people from the new series but there never seems to be any problem with people bringing them from home.
  5. I have used some of the wallpapers of the BBC site to get signed at events and as of yet no-one has refused to sign them. The last time was 2 weeks ago at a Dr Who convention in Gloucester and there were no problems at all getting them signed.
  6. I have heard rumours that as Torchwood are now in need of a doctor and a tech expert that these positions may be filled by Dr Martha Jones and everyone's second favourite tin dog, Mickey Smith, who according to further rumours will be in the Dr Who finale having returned through the rift with Rose, Jackie & Pete. Gotta love that rumour mill.
  7. Brian Blessed was in episodes 5-8 of the Trial of a Timelord starring Colin Baker. Vernon Dobtcheff was in The War Games starring Patrick Troughton. There is a picture of his character in his announcement thread. Bill Weston has an uncredited role in the Patrick Troughton story The Smugglers. These appear to be the only ones announced that have been in Dr Who.
  8. Georgia is signed up to appear at a Doctor Who convention in Birmingham in July which her dad is also appearing. I bumped in to her at a convention her dad was doing at the start of 2007. She was very nice. I asked her if she fancied appearing in the new series and she said absolutely.
  9. I went back today to meet the Torchwood cast members that were going to be there today and Matt was there so met him as well. I spoke to someone else who said that he had been on holiday and only got back yesterday, checked his messages last night and found some from his agent about the event so it looks like there may have been a bit of miscommunication somewhere but he was a great guy, very friendly and we had a chat about his episode and the ramifications of the public display of affection between the two Jacks and about the historical relevance of the American pilots being over here as they were volunteers who came over to fly in the war before America actually joined in. The other Torchwood actors were also great people to talk to.
  10. I had gone today especially because Eve was going to be there. I got there just before 10.00 and found the end of the queue for the virtual tickets was outside in the car park. Despite this I stll got a ticket in the mid 600's whereas I noticed John's were in the mid 800's. Eve seemed to make quite a lot of headway through hers and after popping back several times I noticed about 2-2.30 she had gone to an open queue but you still had to provide a valid ticket to get in. I got through to see her quite quickly and under the circumstances understand and accepted no personalisations and no photos. Not the first time this has happened with a big guest and I noticed James Marsters was doing the same. If a guest is as busy as Eve was then it's easy to understand why it happens. I found Eve to be very charming and funny and despite showing signs of being tired she was still smiling and was very friendly to everybody. Due to my own failings where my memory is concerned I forgot to get a signed photo for a friend who couldn't make it. I went back after her photo shoot and this time it was a proper open queue and tickets were not required. Despite this being about 4.15 both John and Eve were in good spirits and were still very friendly and seemed to be having a whale of a time. I expect the original poster would have complained had they not met Eve or John because they had spent too long personalising or posing for photos.
  11. Which Trek film was he in??? He is listed on IMDB as being in the new one that is currently scheduled for release in May 2009.
  12. A couple of the refreshment places have doors on the outside of the centre and open them early. Fairly certain there is a McDonalds by door 6 which will open early and will definitely have toilets but there is a Burger King by door 9 which is nearer Middleton Hall which should also have toilets. Here's a link the the store plan. http://www.thecentremk.com/Documents/StorePlan.pdf
  13. I met James when Buffy/Angel were still being broadcast. This was at an official event although it was a small con but he signed a photo to me then added Bite Me and his signature.
  14. I had a similar thing happen when I was reading an issue at work and one of the managers told me to put it away and then I found out the next day after all the managers had a meeting that she had raised the point of me reading a "magazine of questionable adult material" in the office. Fortunately for me my manager knew me well enough that he knew it wasn't true although he did suggest someone else that it could've been.
  15. I have seen this come up at previous events and I think the best people to contact first are the local police to get the full legal situation. Once they have advised you then I would contact the main manager of the shopping centre to advise them as well. I think one of the provisos tends to be that they have to be fitted with the orange caps on the barrels when being carries in public. If you have not got a satisfactory answer by the time you then I wouls suggest not risking it. I must admit at other events I do often see people in Stargate uniforms but without weapons. Good Luck
  16. Nice guest. Shame it is Monday only though because I already changed the day I am attending to meet the other Torchwood guests. Any chance of persuading to attend on Sunday with the others.
  17. Here's a link to a page that gives you the info about what is happening with the Coachway http://www.mkweb.co.uk/home/displayarticle.asp?id=56905
  18. This is all a bit of a moot point as the Coachway closes on 26th April for construction work and the coaches will stop at a new location at the end of Silbury Boulevard which is one of the main roads that runs adjacent to the centre and means that the coaches will be stopping about 10 minutes walk from the centre. The new stop is between Montrose Street and Pilgrim Street at the end of Silbury Boulevard that is near the Middleton Hall end of the centre. Normally all National Express coaches stop at the Coachway which is at J14 on the M1.
  19. I think you just book for the coachway as normal and the coach will automatically go to the new stop as this is just a temporary move.
  20. Terry Nation is the name of a tv writer who amongst other things created Blake's 7, Survivors and the Daleks. He also wrote for a lot of cult TV shows throught the 60's, 70,s and 80's. Here's the link to his IMDB entry http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0622334/. The guests for this event are listed on the Autographica homepage. Anyone who has worked on a cult british show is most likely to be there for the Terry Nation event. Here's a link for the homepage for the website regarding this event. http://www.tenthplanet.co.uk/terrynation/ Hope this helps.
  21. I go from Brum also and I nearly always use National Express. I always get there before the doors open so it does mean catching one about 5.30 - 6.00 and it takes about 1hr 45m to get there and costs about £12.00. The coach usually stops near the motorway at the Milton Keynes Coachway but from 26th April work starts on a new coach facility so the coaches are now stopping just round the corner from the shopping centre. It was posted in another thread that the new coach stop is about 10 mins walk away.
  22. If you have paid to attend the Terry Nation convention, you will get two free sigs from each guest at that convention. You will also be able to meet any Autographica guests without paying the entrance fee but you will have to pay the standard fee for those autographs. If you have paid to attend Autographica, you can meet all of the Terry Nation guests without paying the entrance fee but you will have to pay for their autographs. 10th Planet have organised the Terry Nation event and usually at their conventions they give an autograph sheet with each registration pack that is signed by a steward as you meet each guest to show that you have had your free autographs. I expect the Terry Nation event attendees will also be given some sort of ID badge to denote that they are a paid attendee of the event. I would assume that the Autographica and Terry Nation guests will be signing in different areas but they may decide to make things easier by having them all together.
  23. If the cancellation is due to other commitments then you would expect to get a decent amount of notice but from experience this is not the always the way things turn out. You then have the unexpected things that can occur such as illness and travel problems. The best thing is to carry on as normal with your plans. Coaches can usually be booked quite close to the travel time so you could probably wait until nearer the day to book them. The only issue may be is if you are planning on staying overnight then you have to be wary of hotel cancellation charges.
