  1. Trading Standards is an independant body which basically protects the customer and inspects companies...well...trading standards. I know people who have booked flights from America non refundable flights that cost hundreds of pounds. i stand by my original comment - as an apology, they should ACTUALLY show new moon. I couldn't agree more, but Summit would never allow it. So Trading Standards sounds like the way to go! Good stuff, good stuff. I've got the worst headache now. I barely slept last night trying to plan how to get to and from Kent and get tickets, then the website was rubbish...I put off doing a bunch of uni work for today until about 3AM, so I got about 2 hours of sleep and I feel sick as anything. It would've been worth it if there was an actual showing, but since there isn't...it's like the energy balloon has been deflated. Blegh.
  2. Honestly I'd be annoyed too. I mean, it just doesn't ring "accidental" to me. There's a BIG difference between an advanced screening of a film that hasn't even had it's World Premiere and a screening of a film that's already been released that will include a few minutes of footage from the sequel at the end. There's an enormous difference, and the mistake just doesn't seem possible in the first place, if that makes sense. Well, Friday afternoon could be ok. I mean, at least we'd know a bit more before Saturday when most of us would've been leaving to go to Kent, you know? I really hope they sort us out properly. I'm really worried about it. I'm glad I'm not in this alone though. Thanks for helping all of us out, David!
  3. Wait wait wait..."announced it as true" as in they had gone beyond just the false advertisements and actually told people it was really going to happen when they called in or asked about it? That just put them in an even worse position. That's not a mix up! Going to Trading Standards? I'm not sure what that is, but I'm with you all the way! This whole thing is just ridiculous and I really don't think they understand how serious it is.
  4. I don't really know what to do about cancelling my ticket. Obviously I won't be there to claim my ticket, and I simply cannot afford to go to Kent just to get a refund. And we shouldn't have to. My friend gave me this number: 0115 986 2508 She said "or you can call 0115 986 2508 and complain to the head office!!" so I can only assume this is head office? EDIT: what do you think about e-mailing all the big main Twilight sites to get the word out? Maybe it'll help the "Get back our transportation/ticket money without having to go to Kent" Mission if the community came out and pressured Showcase to reimburse us all for all expenses incurred (if it came to the point of needing to pressure them)? I don't know, I'm desperate right now. I can't afford to just waste money, and I know I'm not alone on that one!
  5. Should I go to London or not? I'm really worried that I'll decide not to go and they'll not give me a refund, so that'll be £30 flushed down the toilet just in transportation. As for the tickets, I refuse to go to Bluewater to get them. Like Talie said, you buy them online, I expect a refund in the same way. You have my credit card details. I never entered a pin. The woman I spoke to kept going on about chip and pin, chip and pin, but the bottom line is, I didn't pay at the cinema! My pin is in no way involved thus far. David, what e-mail address did you send it to? I was just looking for a place on their website to file a complaint. I want to go straight to the top. I really think that if all of us band together and lodge a complain as a group, they can't ignore us. I mean, we could legitimately take this to court, I believe, under false advertisement and demand money for expenses incurred if it came down to it and they downright refused to refund us. I'm really upset right now, so sorry if I'm sounding really extreme. I'm also American. It is the American way to sue.
  6. Ok guys, I need to rant and I have a feeling you'll understand. I booked travel from Leeds to London for this event. Plus I bought tickets for my friend and I. That's about £60 when all is said and done. I asked them about a refund, and they said I'd have to come to Kent to get it! Ridiculous! More than that, I want a refund for my travel costs. No way I'd have booked it unless there was this showing, and I only booked them under the understanding that there was an advanced screening of New Moon. As there isn't and this is CLEARLY false advertising, I believe Showcase Cinemas should be responsible for reimbursing travel costs for every single person who bought a cinema ticket and transportation to and from Bluewater. I'd rather stay home this weekend. I have no real reason to go to London, although it'll be nice to see my friend. I'm seeing her in a few weeks though when I'm in town with my course, so it's not necessary. Does anyone have any idea how to professional and diplomatically go about demanding a refund for all costs incurred? I mean, it's not just me. There are plenty of us who put money down to go to this thing. We shouldn't be held responsible for the costs when it was Showcase's fault.
  7. Ok, it's letting me click on the showtimes and says there are still tickets available, buit when I get to the seating page, it says they're NOT available. I don't get it! Still on hold with the cinema and have been for the past 10 minutes. It's getting ridiculous. We were going to book last night but they aren't very clear about where the seats are in the cinema (balcony? gallery?) Stupid page. Stupid showing. Stupid internet! Stupid being on hold! *slightly frustrated*
  8. I'm going!!!!! Can't WAIT!!!!!!! My friend and I are at the 4:30 showing. Anyone else?
  9. That's a very interesting point you bring up, actually, because I now recall reading on some website or in a magazine or something that Bryce was who Summit originally wanted for Victoria. I can't remember why she turned it down, if it was because of scheduling, not enough money was being offered, or she just didn't want to do it, but she was definitely offered the part before Rachelle according to whatever it was I'd read. I'm familiar with film-making and that sort of thing...it's difficult to say. It depends on which locations they were shooting her scenes at, what kind of permits they had to get for filming, how accessible it is, etc. At the end of the day, as long as Rachelle gave them enough time (which I do believe she did), they would've been able to switch around dates and generally get things into order. The most important thing is having advanced warning so they can make sure the sets are booked out for the right dates. Most of Rachelle's scenes would've been in the forest, in the water, etc. This would be more of an issue with the high school, for example. As everyone has been saying, I think it's SO important for all of us to maintain respect for Bryce. I know everyone supports Rachelle first and foremost, but I'm pretty sure Rachelle wouldn't want us getting on Bryce for something she didn't really have any control over. Summit, however, is fair game. I hope Rachelle wins that lawsuit. Do we know exactly what the lawsuit was for? Like, was it that Summit had broken their contract with her, or that it was damage to her reputation or what? I can't even remember where I read about the lawsuit. It's just so sad though! :`(
  10. That clip is AWESOME!!!!! And I fully agree about Michael Sheen. Just because he's incredible! He's an amazing actor, SUCH a nice guy, and I think he's be a lot of fun to have. Does anyone follow him on Twitter? He's so funny, haha! I love his really random photos from airport lounges and looking out train windows. Anyway, if there is any way possible to get Michael Sheen, I really do hope it's done!
  11. How is it I have managed to miss the people with the cameras both times they were at an ET con and I'm a freaking Broadcast Journalist?!
  12. I couldn't agree more! It was actually painful!
  13. Aww, I was in your Gold Pass group! It was funny because I have a friend who was at the con who looks a LOT like Rachelle in real life because of her hair. It's darker and shorter than Rachelle's, but at first glance, you'd mistake her for Rachelle. Anyway, when Rachelle came up and jumped on Edi's back, I thought it was my friend, and I was mortified! I was thinking to myself "What the hell has possessed her to do that? She's going to be kicked out of the con!!!" But then I realised it was Rachelle, and the world made sense again. It was so sweet though; I nearly started crying when that happened. Here's the thing about what happened. If I'm understanding it correctly, Rachelle informed Summit of her 10 day shoot in advance so it wouldn't screw up shooting for Eclipse. Summit, however, says it was sprung on them after they'd already made shooting arrangements, which are very difficult to change around, and costly too. I don't know what happened, only Rachelle and Summit do, but I firmly believe Rachelle wouldn't have done something so irresonsible as to just spring that on Summit. She knows how important it is to keep the company informed, especially with an enormous franchise like Twilight. After hearing her this weekend talking about her passion for acting and how she did everything and anything she could growing up to make it, I just don't think she'd blow it like that. So I'm siding with Rachelle here. I don't think what they did to her was right. God knows other people in the series have had their other schedules worked around (Elizabeth Reaser comes to mind), so it's not impossible to work around other shooting schedules. And it was only 10 days! That's not even an entire film shoot! It's just enough to get her characters stuff done and out of the way so she could go back to the Eclipse set. Rachelle will ALWAYS be Victoria, no matter what. Bryce can come in and replace her, and maybe she'll even do a really great job. But nobody can ever replace Rachelle in our hearts, because she was there from the beginning. She was there before Twilight was this franchise that everyone wanted to get in on. She believed in it before everyone else did, and that means something. That being said about Bryce, I really don't think it would be a good idea to get her as a guest for one of our cons. Most people can be respectful, but there are some people who may really act inappropriately. Besides that, no matter how nice all of us are, it just wouldn't feel right. There would always be that elephant in the room that she replaced Rachelle, who we all know and love. Anyway, Rachelle. What a class act. She's going to go place. It's just a matter of waiting for the right script to come along. One final note: "Fiery redhead who's hell-bent on revenge." *dies laughing* Anyone at Rachelle's first talk will know what I'm talking about.
  14. Same, I was in the guest encounter with Rachelle. Was TOTALLY lost! I mean, it's a valid question right? Can you choose anyone from history or does it have to be current? I would've asked the same thing, haha!
  15. WOW! I hadn't seen that yet. Still not a fan of the transitions (should've spent more time on it; the stuff in The Golden Compass looked WAY better), but what a scene! I adore Kristen Stewart, she gets to be all fiery! And the wolf-pack interactions are ace. Chaske's voice is beautiful! I'm kind of in love with it. This looks like a really great scene! Thanks for sharing!
  16. I want this stuff so badly! It's put out by a reputable makeup line and the colour palettes are GORGEOUS! I tried to buy some when I was in America, but they weren't stocked at the place I went. Epic fail!
  17. I hated that this film took so long to get to the UK. I've been waiting for it to come out since it was still in production! Finally managed to see it on DVD when I was home this summer in America. Absolutely brilliant! I love this film!

Want! NEED!!! I'm seeing an epic new pasttime for ET3...
  19. Adorable! I've got a monkey I sleep with every night. Sad, but whatever. And I agree, his acting was much better than the girls. I love that somebody gave him a bunny! EPIC!!! What did he think of it?
  20. Buying my tickets for the Vue cinema near me in a few hours. Can't WAIT!!!
  21. I know right after a con, everyone comes back and is like "O, he was the best guest ever" or whatever. I can say with 100% certainty, however, that Rachelle was the best guest we've had at an SM Twilight con to date, and that's not going to change just because time has gone by and the excitement has worn off. She was gracious, funny, kind, honest, inspiring...and she never once said anything bad about Summit. I'm sure there were contractual things going on there, but she's is such the bigger person. When she was talking about her favourite memories and tearing up, I was tearing up too because the series won't be the same without her. I don't hold anything against Bryce because she's just the replacement, but she'll never be able to fill Rachelle's shoes. Summit really screwed themselves over, I think. Anyway, Rachelle was an amazing, humble guest. She mingled with us, made a real effort to talk to everyone and get involved...she could've easily been just another attendee, especially when she had her mask on on Saturday night. She came up to my friend and I to chat and I didn't recognise her at first! I'm really proud to have a woman like her connected with our series and our fandom. We were truly lucky to have her in Twilight and New Moon, and I know she's going to go on to do great things!
  22. Me. *cough cough* I had to skip lectures yesterday because I had some kind of 24 hour flu thing. It was horrible! But today, it's just the nasty cough runny nose thing. Fail!
  23. I'm just frustrated there wasn't a preview at ET2. I asked one of the crew if they could ask someone who had the authority to make that decision, but nothing ever came of it. There was a TV and DVD player in that main waiting room, and I'm sure they had plenty of copies that they could've pulled one out to play a minute or two of it. I just don't want to spend £20 on something if it's not going to be what I was expecting.
  24. I think you're talking about my friend Ellie. She looks ridiculously like Rachelle from the back but with darker red hair, and she won the raffle on Saturday for Rachelle's guest encounter. I can't remember if she's on the forums or not. EDIT: Are you Louise's brother?
