PHOTO SHOOT and TALK TIMETABLES
owlpost1992 replied to showmasters's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2011
Hmm, I foresee a clash between Mark Sheppard talk and Derek Jacobi shoot and this is with me opting to go to the 1:45pm Karen shoot. -
Oh and don't forget to pick up a virtual ticket for busier guests, this ensures you have the chance to queue.
-
would you pay this amount to meet these people ?
owlpost1992 replied to showmasters's topic in General chat
I think I'd consider paying £55 for say joss whedon but not for those actors listed not to be rude but they don't interest me but here's a thought maybe sm can get guests at £30 and work there way up seeing as when people expected Karen as a top guest they were dismayed at her prices especially when we thought it was £30 rather then £25, so if you had matt smith at £30 that would be cheap £40 would be money well spent and £55 would he average.... -
Talk, photo and auto. I've already got two out of three but will frame my professional pic.

If it's not personalised, I may as well buy from a dealer..?

The counter-argument is that all those two seconds add up across hundreds of autographs, which is true enough. However, I too prefer personalisations, and I'd rather that autographs were limited to one per person than have dedications stopped. Yeah I think that if a guest is THAT busy then people should be limited to 1 or 2 autos that can be personalised rather than up to 5 each that cant. Would mean more people get at least 1 signature. At the chevron con werent people limited to 1 in person autograph from RDA?? Maybe that was for a different reason but the logic is the same. If that was Cheveron 7.6 (or something to that effect) could it have been he was very limited on time and more People wanted his auto? As for me i once bought John barrowmans auto cos I thought I would never meet him, Lo and behold a few months later I met him also bought a auto from the guy who played the real jack harkness as he'd just missed the con and wasn't gonna do anything but again he came to a hub months later. But yeah, I do like to try and get mine from the guest themselves as it means a whole lot more as you can say you've met them rather then look at something and go still haven't met them and lie to yourself about it. On the subject of personalisations I do like them but im not fussed if I know how busy a guest is, for Alex I waited two hours for her queue and was one of the early ones so got photos of her writing and two personalisations so I think dedication being repaid like that is good. When I did the first hub I was literally the cut off point where John barrowman wouldn't personalise I was a pissed with this but I cheekily asked his sister to sign a german don't read, mods please delete mag that had an article of anything goes and once me and him had finished chatting over his gift he saw what his sister was doing and asked me if i wanted him to sign it as well which I said yes, well I wasnt going to turn down an offer like that! I'm not really into him or torchwood any more but I still have that fun memory and will keep it for a long time. -
I understand that if the guests are pushed for time then no dedications / personalizations . But a quick 'Hi' or 'Thanks' etc isnt asking much is it? Maybe its because we didnt fork out any more money for a photshoot... Did you take into account she could have been tired or that you could have said hello and initiated a conversation with her?

Hmm, 5 sm full cons, 4 cm's 2 other cons and this will be my first lfcc. Oh, I'm 28 by the way.

you've said she's hot property yet you expect her to cost less than the big names. Can't tell if that was stupidity or sarcasm. -
alex kingston laughing over my fez then asking why i wasn't wearing it during the shoot.

I wouldn't think it'd sell out Saturday as that's the first day of the con but I'm hoping for some good stuff left on the Sunday plus I do hope they keep a little back for lfcc. -
So what do you do with your photos?
owlpost1992 replied to Nottravis's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2011
My hub 1 photos are in a frame down the side of my chest of draws cos it's space was nicked by a signed LLL programme and Hamlet (David's more important don't you know ) and the rest of my autos, well the ones mainly on programmes, photos and other small bits of merch are In a display book anything bigger I.e. my cardboard cutout goes elsewhere as I've just finished redecorating I've kept them behind my wardrobe to keep it flat and not easily broken. Only and under my bed is where my dolls are.... Photos by the way are sorted into con, then in order it was taken at the con and then put into a general photo album. -

I'm wondering what to get signed and I'm thinking either the poster from daily mail but am worried people not on the poster might get angry about getting it signed.... -
So far I've deduced I'm spending £140 on autos so far, probably try and save a little by finding a mcdonalds near by and hopefully limit Myself to only firefly merch, so add another £200 on that.

But that persons from Scotland so mk being near London ain't going to make much difference.

I expect that the queue for Alex will be VT's. At that time of the day it may be quite a high number. I have no idea how fast a signer she is though. So, do you reckon, getting there at that time is going to be alright? -

Hi, does anyone know if there's a chance there will be VT tickets at 12:30? its due to the first train/coach leaving my city not getting there till midday and me not wanting to splash out on a hotel if I'm just there for two guests. -

if 10th are charging that for items that were not on there site before the announcement then its a good bet its 30 or 35 :-( which is bad for me, I was considering 3 autos, but at 30 quid, no way, deff one, maybe 2 if I cave on the day. I was hoping they would be around 20 or 25 I'm quite surprised at how steep it is, as many other bigger guests are only charging £25 tops. Quite honestly I was imagining her to be 15 or 20. Was happy to meet her at Hamleys last year and the autograph was free and I got a nice photo with her That sounds more resonable and affordable so more people can meet her. I met her outside the Proms, HMV and Radio 1 last year and she was uber lovely and very pretty. -

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is willing to share with me, I haven't booked yet but am thinking the Crowne Plaza as I have a 2for1 offer which means we'd pay £75 the weekend but otherwise I can find a cheaper hotel.
