  1. Due South, Ally McBeal or Boston Legal never fail to cheer me up.
  2. The witch king - simply due to him having the most aggressive and most iconic looking armour.
  3. With c5 now just days behind the US there's not much point downloading (unless you go for the HD versions). I have to say this season whilst good, suffers in comparison to last season due to the strictly episodic rather than serial nature. Whilst I can understand the producers reluctance to focus heavily on a serial storyline again due to appealing to casual viewers or for rerun purposes, but having one or two series long story arcs would really help give the show some direction and leave us guessing about where its going. Perhaps for s9 eh
  4. I hate cliffhanger endings, and this was no exception. Wonder if the season long arcs will be a continual thing in future seasons.
  5. Liked the misdirection at the end of the ep - if it turned out to be a swerve rather than simply misdirection though I think it may have 'jumped the shark'
  6. Another good ep, but theres certainly a feeling as though theres a lack of general direction - it seems as though their trying to stretch the main plot out as long as possible which is starting to get a little frustrating. We need some resolution!
  7. I've always thought that there should be a scheme where you get the ppv for free when you pre order it on dvd, as paying £15-20 wouldn't be too bad then, but I can't justify spending that on a ppv, or for a dvd of an event I've already seen - even if it is wrestlemania. I still can't believe sky have maintained their policy of some wwe ppv's being on sky box office and other on sky sports long after the C4 contracts have come out of play - just move them all back to sky sports!
  8. If it's anything like last year wwe.com will have the rest of the ceremonies live/avaliable for streaming at a later date
  9. Just rewatched the fifth race to try and get a clue what it could be about, but only the eigth chevron comes into play. What episode was the ninth chevron introduced/talked about? Or has it not been talked about in the show, just shown on the gates unobscured by ramps (spacegates etc) and therefore sparked debate, but not mentioned in the show?
  10. Another good ep, with a deliciously dark ending. After seeing 300 last week everytime Paulo was on screen I kept trying to see how the hell it was the same guy as the films xerxes
  11. Anyone know if Sky will be showing the HOF. The VM TV guid suggests it won't be live, but last year sky showed it a few weeks after Wrestlemania. Anyone have a clue if it will be the same this year?
  12. Good ep, nice to see more of the mystery of the island coming back into the show. Plus any locke-centric episode gets the thumbs up from me.
  13. I think the WWE's biggest problem is the lack of a midcard. All the big stars the WWE have ever created with the exception of the undertaker, hogan and to a certain extent Austin, all hit it big at the IC level before being elevated to the top of the card. With no structured IC/US title divisions theres no way to feed the main events. Too much focus on the top tier talent doesn't allow the growth of other characters and is damaging long term. Also the lack of competition and wrestlers switching companies has certainly not helped. Think of how so many mid carders made a big impact by switching companies - Jericho went from WCW midcard to WWF Main Event virtually straight away (following a slight depush after his big debut)
  14. Theres no way I could choose a set number of episodes. Everytime I revisit the DVD's theres always a few bits to make me chuckle that I'd forgot about. Certainly I know what the biggest dissapointment was *cough*finale*cough* - how could they kill off the Asgard? Also if the Asgard could defeat Ori ships why didn't they help - protected planets and all? The centenial episodes stand out though, I always loved the shows tongue in cheek humour the most.
  15. Now that all 3 series are established, how has everyones viewing changed? Before NY, I used to never miss Vegas or Miami, but with 3 shows I couldn't really spend the time to follow all 3, and so follow Vegas and catch the odd ep of Miami or NY. So with 3 shows has your viewing gone up, or like mine down?
  16. I didn't realise 3x20 was the season finale - was expecting them to continue the story this week.
  17. 123 kid lost a loser wears a diaper match at WM12 , and goldust as TAFKAG dressed up as baby new year. And when you bring up rockabilly you have to cover the 'real' double J as well. A crappy gimmick playing off another crappy gimmick. I bet they smelled the money on that one. Also look how the WWF treated Barry Windham when he came to the WWF in 1996 - The Stalker! Mid 90's WWF was really messed up before the attitude era.
  18. Good if suprising start to season 7. Especially liked how they played about with the shows format - one criticism that can be levied against all such formula shows is that you 'know' they're not going to solve the crime straight away, but rather they're going to build up clues that let you make your predictions as to who the culprit is, before being proven right or wrong. By breaking with the formula it really leaves you with a sense that anything can happen. Same trick is pulled in ep 3, with 4 seperate stories not being interwoven. Certainly seems to freshen things up a bit - and even better they're being awfully vague about a lot of things - sarah/grissom, cath/grissom, is sam dead? Keeping the questions open makes for much more interesting viewing for fans (at the expense of the casual viewer - but why would I care about that ). One question though, how did the sesame seeds prove the guy killed himself - couldn't it have equally been his partner? How was he ruled out?
  19. Kane has to have had one of the best gimmicks- turning a perennial midcarder (Isaac Yankem/fake diesel) into an upper tier character - his initial appearance got him over so much that despite the crap he's had to deal with in the past few years he's still massively popular.
  20. Really enjoyed the michaels/taker ending, brings back memories of 9 years ago - can't believe it was that long ago! I'm secretly hoping for a taker/michaels programme - possibly post WM.
  21. Haven't seen any adverts yet (only tend to watch prisonbreak on 5 these days), so probably wouldn't have known to look out for this had I not seen this thread. Only problem is I already watch commander in chief/the oc/nypd blue on tuesdays thankfully commander in chief is repeated on sundays
  22. Am I the only one dissapointed they've announced all 3o participants? One of my favourite things about the rumble were the suprise entrants.
  23. Big Show hasn't been released, he's just taking some time off to heal (and from his statements possibly do a movie - there was talk of a wwe film with big show a long time ago, so theres been plenty of time for preproduction). I doubt Heymans been released either, he'll probably either: A/Sit at home for a while before either being brought back to ECW as an on air character but with less power behind the scenes B/Be brought back and given a little more freedom (may happen to see if it could shake things up if sci fi doesn't extend the ecw tv deal) C/Go to OVW again as a booker, which he was reportedly very happy with.
  24. Theres still hope for ECW, there is a good deal of talent on their roster -its just a shame its bogged down by faded ECW originals and goofs like khali and terkey. Given a two hour show (a lot of talent goes unused, Guido/nunzio was far better off on smackdown), some roster cuts and some free reign to be an 'alternative' brand, things may still work out. Whilst I used to like ECW back in the day, people seem to look back with rose tinted glasses - it was never as good as people seem to remember it as. heyman used to have a real talent for masking talents weaknesses and highlighting their strengths, but has also been known to go off the rails. Having Heyman given control for a few months without interference from the main wwe creative, with influence from the likes of Tommy Dreamer and perhaps Lance Storm, and allowed to bring in some new talent from the development territories and foreign territories, ECW could become what it used to represent - an fresh, exciting, although sometimes flawed alternative product you wouldn't get from the wwe. The remaining 'ECW originals' in general no longer have that spark they once had. CM punk better represents the 'ECW'spirit, than sandman, balls mahoney or tony marmaluke. Give Heyman some free reign with the objective not to draw ratings or be like wwe, but to build up new fresh talent, and i'm sure theres an entertaining show in there.
