  1. Another one? You have got to be kidding me. It's ridiculous. the strike days are this Friday and Saturday...and Monday and Tuesday....the union does not do this lightly...it could make or break its members.... The Oxford postal system is cr*p enough anyway. (I've yet to see a 1st class letter get anywhere around here in less than 3 days). This is NOT helping.
  2. Another one? You have got to be kidding me. It's ridiculous.
  3. I was told you can cancel without charge until 2pm of the day you're due to check-in. Which I thought was suspciously good. But hey, twas handy.
  4. If a lot of you still have travel tickets booked (trains/plane etc.) couldn't you meet in London anyway? Have a fanmeet and squee in person? Just a thought.
  5. Not a nay-sayer. Whilst I love SM, and think the gold passes for Eclipse/Lockdown are good value (got a Gold pass for Eclipse. ;p), the signing event gold passes don't seem to give you much for your money. Simple solution though, you don't like 'em, don't buy one.
  6. Most events like this have an upper limit, and as long as the organisers remember why they imposed it (one con I went to allowed in 300 more people than originally planned and it was a nightmare for queues.) then the con will sell out rather than become overcrowded.
  7. I pretty much ran away from MK when I hit 18, because I find it very...square. Anyways, if you've not really been before, and are spending time there then the Centre (where Collectormania is), Xscape - the big skislope, it's massive and you really can't miss it. And the theatre district which has an art gallery, which at last look was fluroescent pink in a shade that should have warnings about damage to the cornea. To get to Theatre district, find John Lewis and go out of the exit opposite the side door (not the main entrance), cross the mini car park and the road and you're there. Plus, for Xscape, go down the path between TGI Fridays and the bar next to it... (Barmed possibly these days) and you will hit Xscape.
  8. O5? What's that? Ah, sorry. Shouldn't speak in acronyms. It was Odyssey 5. Which was such a good TV series back in 2002. It was Manny Coto's creation, and very much a sci-fi show. Cast - Peter Weller (Robocop, 24, Enterprise, craploads of other stuff). Christopher Gorham (Jake 2.0, Medical Investigation, Ugly Betty). Leslie Silva (Numb3rs, Enterprise- you can tell where Manny went afterwards...). Sebastian Roche (General Hospital, Law and Order). Tamara Craig Thomas (Cold Squad, The Dead Zone, Voyager). And Lindy Booth was in 4400 too. Sorry...reminiscing a little here.
  9. You good alwards take your food with you, and share with the guests. ;p
  10. 2.5 million? Sounds like a good business deal. Make SMs fortune so you can go get us all of the big guests. ;p We shall find his grave, and I shall discover away to bring him back to life for a few hours for the event. Workable plan? (Yes, it sounds insane, but some a**hole managed to set off the fire alarm in our flats at 4.45am this morning, I've not managed to get back to sleep and it's very much a statement of how the rest of my life is right now.)
  11. Wouldn't normally post this, but there seem to be so many people that are complaining, I shall. Am I the only one that thinks that C12 has a truly awesome line-up so far? Ok, there are no O5 guests, but I've now accepted that events won't get them because they may not pull in the customers. (Though Peter Weller was Robocop, which I'd have thought would have been popular.) I don't normally get autographs, and spend my money at the stalls, but there are at least 7 people I'd like to meet on the currently line-up. Anyone else excited about it?
  12. Umm...crikey. 4400 type people... Brooke Nevin. (Yes I've met her, but I loved her more after meeting her so asking here). Lindy Booth Patrick Fleuger Joel Gretsch Billy Campbell And so many other names that I can't remember. They all rock.
  13. You do them *all* yourself? Wow. Err...kudos for that. (Though after the day I've had maybe it doesn't sound so bad. Specimen jars with body fluids in should actually be tightly SHUT. And bags should be sealed. Like completely.) Still, tis impressive.
  14. Let me say that I really hope they don't go the portait route here. Another event does, and I hate it, as I know a lot of others too too. I'm quite happy for my hips never to be seen in a photo, even more so when you're next to a tiny guest (it makes any size difference notice al the more). LOL Yeah, I'll second that one. (I'm ok-ish from the waist up.) And with actresses it's really obvious. (Plus the fact they're all WAY shorter than me too.)
  15. Hmm...difficult because I'm not interested in the autograph itself per se. (Yes, the 10x8s are a bonus and look very pretty stuck to my furniture but just a bonus). If all I got was to see the top of someone's head signing a piece of paper I wouldn't spend anything at all. It's why even though I've been to pretty much every collectormania I only have a couple of autographs. First one I got was Grace Park, and though I know a lot of people were disappointed with her, she actually tried to have a conversation with everyone, and that's what made it for me. I did spend £30 once to have a 45 minute coffee club with Brooke Nevin (and 20 odd other people) and I would so do that again. For that, and an actor/actress I really liked, I'd probably pay up to £75.
  16. I know that all of the orders are manually processed, so it doesn't go out directly. However, since I'm assuming SM are expecting a lot of ticket sales the day Lockdown tickets go up (I know I'll be here at 7pm sharp), they probably have planned to have someone start processing orders the following day at a guess.
  17. He actually lives near me. Seen him around a few times in town, very pleasant guy That's cool. (I realised after living here a few months that Emma Watson goes to school down my road. So you see her around a bit. Though I missed the opp to see her in the really funny uniforms though.) Nice guest though SM!
  18. I guess you didn't know about the Allo Allo guests we've had either then? You'd be surprised at how popular they are though. There were really cool though. (I managed to get a picture or me and Vicki Michelle - who my Mum always used to say I'm named after, for Mum and she loved it.) And Richard Gideon dressed up. Twas really cool.
  19. I know if you get TJ Ramini my friend might possibly explode with excitement. That is, if she ever comes back down from orbit.
  20. It's like the fact that someone with a lisp, can't say "lisp" properly. Seems a mite mean it does. Kip
