  1. Check out his website www.nikkershaw.co.uk for his new album You've Got To Laugh - it's only available there, and it's great! (And no I'm not on commission! And I'd love to meet him too!)
  2. Being an 80s fan should definitely be an advantage on this one! My list would be: Blondie - Deborah Harry/Chris Stein/Clem Burke/Jimmy Destri Kim Wilde Adam Ant Nik Kershaw Jody Watley Human League Sam Brown Limahl Gary Numan Iggy Pop B-52's And Clare Grogan would be a very welcome return to SM. (Christa, if you're reading this, bet that surprises you! Not!!) I must say, this is great idea for an event, can't wait!!
  3. Fantastic!! I missed him last time, hadn't got my DS9 box set! But i saw his talk, it was great! It'll be good to meet him next time!
  4. Always a pleasure working with you! Thanks to you, Stuart and John for making a great pitboss team! Alan.
  5. You did a great job mate - always available, good at checking everyone was ok (without being patronising), relaxed and appreciative - it was a pleasure to work on your team!! Hope to see you in the red shirt again (printers permitting...)
  6. Happy belated birthday Shabs! Hope you had fun!
  7. What can I say, 80s music related will do it for me! Mind you, Clare is in a league of her own for soooo many reasons! If you really want to see my knees turn to jelly, we need Kim Wilde!!! Can't think of a movie-related excuse for her though. I'd be a one-man stampede to her desk! LOL!!
  8. SM are correct - strictly speaking Toyah was known as a band until 1985, and signed to Safari records as such - it had a changing lineup but was centred around Toyah and Joel Bogen - see her website http://www.toyahwillcox.com/cv-musichistory.html. She also had a big part in Jubilee, playing a nutter punk girl! Great guest SM!
  9. As I'm in the picture, I'll defend Davey and backup his big win on zero. 'Course he lost it soon afterwards... (but didn't we all!) Someone else will have to defend the shirt though, he should've lost that! (sorry, Davey, couldn't resist)
  10. I'm going on Saturday with TooTall and Sah. Should be great! Saw them last time they came here, they were excellent!
  11. It was my first Autographica too, and it was great to get to know some more of the crew, all of whom made it a fun relaxed event. Top pics, Shabs! Here's one Mara wanted me to promise I wouldn't post!
  12. It would be brilliant to get him along to an event. Neverending story was such a geat book and film, would be nice to get some of the other stars too. Maybe one day we'll get a decent remastered DVD!
  13. Kim Wilde. Human League. Terri Nunn of Berlin (Bring your tour over to the UK, please!!) Adam Ant. Gary Numan. Blondie (including Jimmy Destri, not the replacement keyboard player! ) I am of course working on the principle mentioned above, that modern stars would be too busy - it's really not that I'm showing my age at all!!! P.S. Bring back Clare Grogan too.
  14. Famke Janssen for me. (And you're right she does make a stunning mutant too). Although there's a special place in my heart for Honor Blackman, even at 80 she looks good - I think it's an attitude thing.
  15. Clare Grogan. She's still gorgeous, and so chatty and friendly. And working all Monday with Alan Tudyk was a pleasure, he's a really nice guy, and is great with the fans.
  16. Working with Shabs, Raf and Christa (You're welcome for the lift ) over the weekend made it great fun! Double teaming to queue push the big guys has never been more efficient and entertaining! (BTW, have a great pic of Raf and a banana, I'll get it uploaded soon...) Totally agree with DavidB, the whole thing was brilliantly run, happiness and team work was great everywhere, even the packing up on Monday was smooth sailing.
  17. Xena guests would be awesome, would love to meet Lucy, Renee and Hudson.
  18. If you don't have it, I recommend the "Destiny - the Greatest Hits" CD - there's a great new song on it called Small Without Me, well worth getting!
  19. Fantastic!! I met her at Birmingham a couple of years ago - she was so chatty and friendly, and yes, she will sign Altered Images stuff - she even signed her only solo single for me.

A Big Duranie Meeep to you! They were fab! Even finished with my fave Wild Boys (with a little Wild Girls coda!). Simon tried crowd surfing but they dropped him!!!
  22. Late 70s/ early 80s for me - Iggy Pop, Ramones, Blondie, B-52's, Duran Duran , Adam Ant, Kate Bush, Human League have all been the influence for so many. I saw Blondie at the Albert Hall last week, Debbie may be 60 but she still has plenty of energy!!

  24. That is so tragic, he was such a talented man and a great sportsman with skill and honour. My heart goes out to his family, may he rest in peace.
  25. Hi Sandra, It's a shame but there are some people in this world who do not seem to be able to ever say good things, they only look for the negative (in their opinion) so that they can moan about it. They don't speak for everyone and please don't think that one person's view should matter when so many others plainly disagree. It's obvious to most people that guests come to an event partly to meet the fans and partly to promote themselves and their career - what would be the point otherwise?? You have no need to justify yourself at all! It speaks volumes that the dissenter(s) don't have the guts to answer your thread. Ignore them and concentrate your thoughts on the many people who came to see you because they wanted to. It also says a lot that you care what people think - that demonstrates your integrity and the value you place in your fans. You deserve respect for that, and I hope the number of positive replies you're getting makes you feel happier about coming back in the future, most of England are welcoming and friendly, I promise!!
