1. yup. was an absolute motherf*cker took just over 5 hours to get back to MK. M6 on a Sunday night - never worth the effort!! Traffic is always horredous so for those of you who struggle venturing south on a Sunday night this is the best way home. M60 S & W to Junction 3 (A34) A34 south to A500 stoke A500 into Stoke then A50 towards Uttoxeter (waving at Alton Towers on the way past) This takes you across to the M1 Junction 23a (which is usually heavy going on a Sunday too) If this is bad come off at Junction 19 which is Daventry Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) and turn right You can pick up the A5 here all the way into Milton Keynes For you speed freaks the A34 is full of Speed Cameras but the A50 is camera free at present.
2. These two guys are lovely. Brad has often seen them at Collectormania in MK and has always wanted to have a photo with the two of them together. They were very accomodating and i think he started all the attendees in the cafe wondering whether it was the real PS. It didn't help when he started chatting to them about Macbeth because Patrick had told him earlier in the day that he was old enough now to appreciate Shakespeare and to come along and see it. I do agree that they are both very good lookalikes but, more importantly, are just as gentlemanly as the real thing. Its only a shame the neither has the voice!! I can honestly say that, of course, yesterday was manic and really hard work. Not as relaxing an event as before and we got very few coffee stops. However, we knew this would be like this. We got there at 6am and spent several hours with some very nice people drinking coffee and eating chocolate brioches on a very mild morning (Thanks and Happy Birthday to Kevin - Brad's blocker to the end zone and Hi to Paul for making the 4 hour wait fly by). Needless to say arriving at that time meant that we were not disappointed but were too tired at the end of the day to say our usual goodbyes and thank everyone at SM for their hard work and sincere dedication. In fairness to everyone at SM - they all gave 100% and did everything in their power to help everyone that needed it. I have to admit I did notice an awful lot of new attendees this time and even found myself explaining the VT system to several people who thought they all had to wait for their number to be called and that everyone would be called according to number order. There were also an awful lot of disarray. Queues were merging into each other and rather than find the end of a queue people were starting a new one. It's no surprise that various people felt aggrieved by what they thought was queue jumping and unfair allocation of tickets. I agree that putting all of these heavy hitters together was not the best possible scenario. However, with Fridays last minute cancellations and new guest announcements along with the new hall assignment and all the Health & Safety to look into, I think SM did the best that they could on such short notice. This was not a fiasco just hard work. I've been to a fiasco (namely the as featured on Watchdog David Boreanaz event). That was awful. Brad has attended all SM events since C1 and, honestly, I would consider SM the best at what they do. Lets hope the next one leaves time for more coffee breaks - I was in caffeine withdrawl last night! Big hugs to everyone and see you in October
3. I agree - Robert is a lovely lad just just really nervous. Brad was asking him about his favourite HP bits and he admitted he had only just watched the first film at Christmas so I imagine he was not looking foward to his Q & A. Hats off to the other guys who came to the rescue and made the experience much easier for them. Tolga was a complete star and a gent, as was Smily Stan and all Brad has to say to Matt is "How loud does that hand make it!!" They are great guys (and gals) and a pleasure to talk to.
4. Brad asked him how many times he is asked about the numbers. We were shocked when he told us that no-one had asked him at all today. He said he gets asked whether or not he plays the lottery which he doesn't and Brad told him that he does every week. They chatted about what numbers would come up Sat night but to no avail - i am still working and just flown back from Paris intact- lol He was a nice guy though really chatty and laughed at Brads request to give him 6 numbers for that nights lottery
5. Well if i may say so, you were a right feisty cat when u were there, but I liked it and I kicked Daisy Dukes ass with just ONE uppercut. Who the man? 877864 Yeah I gotta agree that Daisy Duke Uppercut was the best I saw all night!! Particularly when she lay there for a few minutes waiting for you to get off and help her up!!
6. Hi there Superman - don't forget Batman was 9 years old and stood a little over 4 feet.
7. That suit was awesome and you were way superior to Halle. I wanted to get a pic but forgot my camera, so if anyone has any spare, send them my way. Me and cher were cheering on your son in the Gladiator ring too, his suit rocked (if only it was in my size) 876001 Thanks - I don't think it will be in his size for much longer - I will have to start making his costumes again!!!
8. Thanks for the compliment - I kinda lost Batman on the Bouncy Castle though!!
9. Dont Forget guys to wish John a very happy Birthday at Midnight !!!
10. After what I heard today I am sure that he would hae rather gone to LFCC2 than to attend the 3 minute farce that was hailed the turning on of the Regent Street Lights. I am disgusted to say that Mr Jackson (Deity that he is) was not even permitted to turn the lights on in favour of Busted and he left. Well all I can say is that he would have been very warmly appreciated by all of us and that such idiotic behaviour is not indicative of 99.9% of the intellectually capable population on this isle. Much respect goes out to Mr Jackson and long may he revel in the knowledge that everyone over the age of 5 knows just who he is.
11. Yeah he was there with his folks & friends. He went to see RVD - while I was in the queue with Brad
12. Yes he is. I must admit that most of the celebrities that Brad has met over the past four years have been great but Brad really thinks very highly of Craig Parker and today I found out why. A lovely man ad a great role model for kids to have.
13. Busted & Live - contradiction in terms mate - loud & busted thats more like it!
14. A BIG THANK YOU to Craig for the time he spent with Brad today, Happy Birthday for Friday and I hope that when Brad gets to ** years old I am as proud of him as your folks are of you. Thank you again Brads Mum
15. I have to be in complete agreement. This was the most fun I have ever had at a convention and being as I am only the driver, financier and parent that is really saying something. I actually spent the day feeling RELAXED! Top guests - a thank you to everyone, SM included, for treating Brad the with fun, care & respect that he usually receives. Jonathan Frakes was a top guy, as was Chris Judge, Paul Norrell, RVD and Michael Beihn (although got in trouble again for letting Brad watch T1 & T2). But the gold prize has to be shared between SM for organising such a great event and Craig Parker who made me realise today that there are other parents out there who have great kids. Thanks SM - It was a great day ** edited as I forgot to mention Paul Norrell (apologies Paul it was the Strawberry Cheesecake Hagen Daz calling me!)
