I feel relieved too. I got an email with my Ibis confirmation number from Scott this morning.

Well I hope that if the given view is that a 30s/40s party won't be a whole night of music from that era, then there won't be a whole 7 hours dedicated to R&B on either of the other nights - I notice I'm not the only one who has mentioned that they're not big fans of that genre. While I wouldn't complain about a few R&B tracks (all tastes have to be catered for ), having to listen to it for a whole night would be too much. I'm hoping there's going to be a good mix of genres on all nights - lets not forget that 'somewhere in time' would suggest music from any point in history...although medieval folk songs would probably be a bit too much . *shudder*

I am really looking forward to it - I think it's going to be loads of fun But I suppose being bumped from the Park Inn has put a bit of a downer on the build up for me.

Yes, exactly. My friend and I will have to keep going back and forth from hotels to change from our reception clothes to our party clothes. That's the main annoyance, really. Otherwise we don't mind the Ibis. It's a shame the 40s party isn't on the Friday night. I'd have been perfectly happy to wear my costume for that evening to the cocktail party.

I'd go with that Not keen (to put it mildly) on most R&B but as long as there's a mixture of stuff I'll be happy EDIT: Just reading another thread and was reminded that this is the Big Band Party - shouldn't we have a bit of 40s music then?

I'll be going in formal gear too.

I've sent a friendly email to the Park Inn explaining my disappointment over this. I'll keep you posted when they (hopefully) get back to me.

I've just had an email to say they've moved me too. Can't say I'm pleased, but I suppose it's better to have a room over the road than no room at all!

Sarah Stevenson, totally robbed in the Tae Kwon Do quarter finals - I'm really gutted for her Not that I'm suggesting anything untoward, but I suppose it wouldn't do to have the Chinese competitor and two time Olympic medalist go out so early at the home games would it?

Especially if they were premiership footballers I really hope she wins a medal - I found the BMX really exciting. Must mention another of our medals today; Tasha Danvers winning a Bronze in the 400m hurdles. Well done girl!

Don't forget the Bronze in gymnastics - the only individual artistic gymnastics medal we've ever won at the Olympics

The BBC Website Olympics pages are pretty good. I can't pick up live feeds at work either but I've been checking that site all day!

I suspect that there will a couple more medals in the cycling this weekend... Plus, we're guaranteed at least a Silver and Bronze in the sailing - fingers crossed that the team can make them both Gold
