  1. 1.Name:Gemma 2 Age: 29 3 Location: London 4 Ticket type: Gold 5 Reason for going: The Hub was the first big weekend convention I've ever been to and it was so great I couldn't wait to go back. I've cleared out my bank account to get a gold ticket but I'm sure it'll be worth it
  2. Aside from Eve and Burn I'd like to see Daniela Denby-Ashe and Bryan Dick.
  3. I've joined. I love Gareth's face in the little profile picture
  4. I've reserved a room at the Ibis - stayed there for the Hub and it's not too bad - and also added my name to the Park Inn waiting list. So, even if that doesn't come to anything I'll still be close by.
  5. I've had to bite the bullet and pay for my gold ticket with an overdraft - couldn't risk waiting for payday with the gold pass stocks running low.
  6. You should definitely get them back, they were so much fun. That's what I thought too
  7. I found that a bit annoying too. I work in a communications role and proof reading is part of my job, so if Showmasters would like someone to go through it prior to the event I'd happily offer my services (no charge obviously )
  8. I had a really brilliant time and I didn't really have much reason to complain about anything. However, there a few points that people have already made that I'd definitely agree with: I'm gonna dispute this! The last night's party was not a flop for all of us! Once we started asking the DJ to play lots of cheesy stuff there was a good crowd of people on the dancefloor having a fantastic time! I thought the Sunday night party was good too. The music on that night was a bit more rock-y and that's the sort of stuff I like, (although I did love the music at the 40s party) and Gareth being there was a bonus - he was very entertaining I like the idea of that. Raffling off a few of the places rather than auctioning them off would give a few more people the chance to take part. I think we have to bear in mind that everyone has already paid as much as they can afford for their weekend pass (standard, silver or gold) and any photos/autos, and the hotel and travel don't come cheap either. It's also plain to see that there are lots of younger people at these events (not that I'm one of them) who are unlikely to be earning enough money to spend £60 for one of these encounters, so they automatically have no chance under the current system. Yup, I kept cutting myself on mine too And I really appreciated that (Perhaps I need to grow a bit...) I'd echo the suggestion for more timetables, or at least larger and clearer ones, to be displayed.
  9. Tee hee. I'd forgotten all about that, but thanks for reminding me - priceless!
  10. The play The encounter between John and a coat at the cocktail party Any of the panels, although the one with everyone on Saturday was a highlight Meeting lots of fun people who love Torchwood as much as I do The 'inconvenience' of having to look at Gareth when I was at the front of his signing queue and he took a coffee break The 40s party John, John and a bit more John!
  11. I've done exactly the same - better to have somewhere close than nowhere at all. There's also a possibility that some people booked at the Park Inn already may be looking for room mates nearer the time too.
  12. I was thinking about this at the weekend (which is a bit sad considering how much fun I was having ) and I think that it's not necessarily a valid argument within the UK. The BBC is a non-departmental public body (meaning that it's not a central government department but is 'owned' nationally) and is, as such, owned by the tax payers and licence fee payers. So I would challenge that it could really be breach of copyright if published within the UK. But that's just how my odd mind works! That said, I'm no legal expert and I wouldn't want the BBC to get all defensive and stop allowing the cast to attend these kinds of convention
  13. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of him, but I love the fansite idea - I thought he was great
  14. They definetly did that! Thank you so much to every guest. Lol! The Gareth and Kai panel session on Sunday was brilliant for oh so many reasons
  15. She was absolutely adorable. One of my favourites from the panel session: "T-A-R-D-I-S; how do you pronounce it? Tar-dee?" Lol!
  16. It was my first con and I have to say that it was absolutely fantastic. It surpassed all my expectations. The crew were brilliant and really helpful and the gusts were great - really friendly and clearly having as much fun as we were! It was also wonderful to meet so many people from the forum and put some faces to names. Can't wait for the Hub 2
  17. I'm just hoping I can sort out all my finances before the gold passes go...
  18. Couldn't agree more. I've only ever been to LFCC and never one of these themed events. But I can assure you that nothing said in this thread tonight has put me off - it all sounds well organised to me (and my job involves running events, although they're business events rather than for fun, and I know how much goes into them)
  19. Magschick - it might be an idea for you to edit your post to remove your phone number now that Hannah has it. Wouldn't want you to be getting crank calls from any dodgy people - you'd hope that nobody on here would, but there are some strange folk around
  20. I bought my ticket on the assumption that there would only be six guests attending and there are probably many others who did too - the fact that there are 10 is a total bonus. It's also great of Showmasters to let us have the extra autographs over and above the original six offered. I.m really happy with the schedule, and the amount of pictures I'm going to get
