  1. There's another big article in the Mirror today, same thing, one of them went to the event. It's not as uncomplimentary as the other one but not brilliant either.

    Talk videos

To put it as it's most simplest, no they won't be available even if they were filmed which they aren't usually. The camera's were just to project the talks on to the big screen for those further back. The talks aren't filmed or released as that would involve a lot of legal negotiation.
  3. JP you aren't the only one unfortunately. I have a terrible memory and only remember bits here and there.
  4. It's a series of adverts currently on the Underground in London for a weight loss company. It's a picture of a very thin lady in a bikini with the words "are you beach body ready2 behind her. It's causing a bit of controversy at the moment as it's implying you shouldn't be on the beach of you aren't stick thin....... https://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/blogs/icymi/unpopular-opinion--those--are-you-beach-body-ready--ads-are-not-that-bad-133523807.html I've added the link to one of the articles on Yahoo although there are others, so that you can see a picture of the advert.
  5. I used almost exclusively a bronze metalic sharpie at Sherlocked this weekend and it was fine, I had books, 8x10's, matt pictures and a metal displate signed, so all different surfaces. You just have to give them a little longer before you roll up or put away your pictures when signing with the metalic colours. When it's been signed just move out of the away holding it, leave for a couple of minutes and then put away. I really don't recommend the paint pens though.
  6. I usually get 2 if it's a main guest, I get a personalised 8 x 10 and an unpersonalised sig on a cast picture/poster.
  7. The MC David did wander over to the bookshelves at one point on Sunday morning I think during one of the fisrt talks to look at the books and pulled out the Jack the Ripper one and after a while he put it on the arm of the sofa. It was then still there when Mark next came on stage and it was then he picked it up and was reading it.
  8. Unfortunately whilst you get that kind of attitude everywhere it's certainly true of some Journalist's who will do anything for a story or reaction. I had one reduce me to tears last year at work when he called in simply because he wouldn't accept that I couldn't do what he wanted me to do and wouldn't leave it. As it was work related I couldn't tell him to eff off like I should have been allowed to. My colleagues and I looked him up after and found he was an odious little prat who had ruined other people's lives by implying he would release personal info if they didn't let him interview them.....
  9. There was an area specifically designated for this that was by the main stage exit area that i did often see people using for that purpose, however it could have used some chairs for those who were in need of a little physical relief - I spoke to a couple of attendee's who whilst not technically disabled where limited in their mobility and were finding the amount of time on their feet difficult. There was also a bit of a lack of chairs inside the photoshoots for those in need of them. Regarding the lack of other stands, I'm not sure what specifically you are thinking of but it might have been limited to not overcrowding the space they had. As they had to book and get the event on fairly quickly they probably had to take what halls they could get rather than the amount they would have wanted. Excel did seem like it was either fully or nearly fully in use the whole weekend.
  10. I don't think she was given a press pass though, according to cumberbatchweb she wan't. That would actually partly explain the tone of the article because it read to me like she had just been talking to people as a fellow attendee rather than people knowing she was a journalist. Also in my experience when the press go to events like this officially they usually have an interview with the guests and write about that as well. This read to me as if it was all a but under the counter a bit, hence some attendee's shock at finding their pictures in the article.
  11. Where does it say they will be available for free please JP? I haven't seen anything definitive from SM anywhere. Whilst I understand what you mean re the Mail, my understanding from what I have read is that the people behind that article may have 'taken' the pictures from the attendees themselves from where they have posted them on their own twitter/facebook ect pages.
  12. Lol Cosmic, reading your post is a bit like my thoughts. BC also warned me about the chair which I too thought was sweet of him, and as I've heard the crew say before was quite uncomfortable! and Loo put her hand on my arm in the group shot as well which I only realised after as I was so concerned with concentrating on not stepping on any of their feet the whole thing passed in kind of a blur!
  13. The writers name has come up a lot over the years. It seems to be a frequent occurence that articles like this appear from that writer. Like with all trolls it's best to just ignore them, we aren't going to be able to get them to stop writing stuff like that and it's better not to react. The shocking thing in this case is it's not an annonymous troll but someone paid to spout rubbish like that.
  14. I don't think they have permission to use the photo's in that article as one of the ladies in one was pretty upset to see it on there. And I won't mention what everyone seems to think of the author.
  15. Well said Clappy and I'm glad you had such a good time.
  16. I agree. I missed his Saturday talk but say Sunday's and abslolutely loved him. I'm telling everyone who's asked me how my weeked went that he really is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I'd be happy to keep going back to see him simply because of that. In my photo he's pulling a bit of a face which I like - I'm usually fairly stoic in photo's as I think I look a bit gormless when I grin and can never think of a pose to ask them for so it was nice that his was a bit different.
  17. It's hard because whilst I loved that they had practically the whole cast I do appreciate how difficult it was for the attendees to do everything and I don't know if I'd have been able to do as much as I did without the Platinum ticket. As it was I didn't really see any other talks on Saturday other than Ben's ones, and 10 mins of Louise and Jonathan's and the same with Lars and Ruperts. I sacrificed them in order to get the photo shoots done and get as many auto's as possible, but it did free up Sunday a lot so I could see all the talks (apart from the vis affects which I was sad to not be able to see any of), and make sure I got Louise's auto and Marks! Whilst I can see it would be calmer with less guests, I did love getting to see them all in one show.
  18. I sat down next to a bit of a weird chap for the screening who was essentially saying the same thing and more. He was saying that he was here to see what else was on offer and saying to me that SM were putting the whole thing on as a money scam and were fleecing us ect, because there weren't enough additional activities. He didn't want to listen to me when I tried to explain it and even told him we were really lucky with this event - we had the main production crew and Arwel and Danny. As far as I can recall it's pretty rare to get to see the people involved with that side of the show and I really appreciate them being there this weekend. He didn't even seem particularly interested in either Sherlock or the actors individualy so I've no idea why he was there. He went off on a rant about Ben's privilaged background and how his life and career was essentially handed to him on a plate. Strange chap...... Expense wise, yes it was a lot, however it was mostly upfront about the costs (I'm not including all the additional photo shoots that were added later), we knew what the tickets and talks cost and what they included. Unfortunately this is NOT a cheap hobby anymore and you have to expect that it's not going to be cheap. Whilst I freely admit Ben was the main draw I still would have gone with out him and was just as excited to finally get to meet the whole crew, but particularly Mark and Stephen.
  19. Agreed, everyone was very lovely but Louise and Andrew really stood out. I gave several of the cast/crew a gift and Louise was asking me about it and gave me a hug. She is a fantastic person who I would be more than happy to meet again.
  20. Glad everyone had a good time, re Ben he did have a head cold and must have been feeling rough. I'd never expect a hug from him in the auto queue for 2 reasons, 1, it simply takes too long (if you do it for 1, everyone will ask!) and it can be difficult constantly getting up, especcially if you aren't feeling well on top of it and 2 simply because it would take too long :) He seemed reserved to me but that was probably a combination of not feeling well and maybe he was a bit apprehensive as there are a few mad fans out there who I think go a bit far and he may have been a bit wary of anything happening. I'm very happy that he came though and appreciate that he and the rest of the cast are willing to do events like these. Ben especially as he really doesn't have to and could easily say he's too busy. I've been showing my photo shoot pictures to the people I work with and I can't stop grinning at them!
  21. Don't quote me but I have heard on the rumour mill that they are considering another one.
  22. I agree, they were all really good considering the amount of people coming at them with different passes and tickets. They all did especially well on Saturday when managing the Ben stuff, particularly the 221b shoot where he wasn't screened off. The guys managing Louise's auto queue deserve special mention! As I was about to go in for my Mark on set shoot this afternoon I saw TooTall so I did mention to him that I thought the whole crew had done wonderfully. Thank you guys.
  23. I completely forgot about/missed Mark's signing today So I'll have to remember to go tomorrow.
