  1. A thank you from me, sales queue Friday, runner autos Saturday, KITT photos Sunday. Sorry if I misinformed folk about Philip Hinchcliffe coming on Sunday. It was arranged later in the day. So a sincere thanks for a fairly hassle free duty. Same again soon?
  2. Fair enough. Thread it is then!!! Thought Pm's worked out of the profile sub sections. Stand corrected.
  3. Have a twin room booked for the Friday and Saturday night of the convention. Was wondering if anyone that is going and hasn't booked would be interested in sharing the room and cutting down on costs. Charge is £60 for each night, so split would be £30 each night. Reply on thread or PM. Cheers.
  4. Is that what you need or what you have?
  5. PM what you have and what you are looking for. Perhaps we can come to some sort of deal.
  6. What have you got? What are you looking for?
  7. Ironic isn't it? You wait over four and a half months from the initial promise of guests "very soon" to post this, and then 18 minutes after you do, a guest gets announced. It should be appreciated that pinning down film and TV actors months in advance is a tricky thing; we all know that opportunities may arise at any time, and I can certainly understand that many actors and their agents would not like to commit to a particular weekend 11 months ahead, or even 6 months. However, no doubt over the coming weeks as the time to the show moves into a more "comfortable" range for guests to start to arrange their diaries for such events, then I'm sure other names will start to appear. I think that perhaps just a little more patience will bear fruit for you. (In other words, I'm sure that the usual SM definition of "very soon" is normally much less than 136 days, 13 hours and 2 minutes. ) Not sure by your wording if you are criticising my timing or not. Is it ironic or just anxiety? Other events, including those by showmasters have guests announced as far ahead as 8 months, sometinmes even a year ahead. This can be apt to change, for commitment reasons. But most people are aware of that and used to it. It does however give an indicator of intent. In the case of Collectormania Glasgow, there was, up to yesterday, none that I could see. I was just voicing an opinion that if it is a goer, surely there should be news of some nature (however thin and insubstantial), not nothing!
  8. No guest announcements means no one having the inclination to commit to something that at present doesn't look like it is up and running at all. The change of venue from high to low profile doesn't help that feeling whatsoever. Some people and groups up in Scotland would love to get involved and help out. But in exactly what? No clues, no indicators. No good.
  9. Look forward to seeing where this is going?!?
  10. Hate to state the bleeding obvious. Shouldn't it be Carrera, not Carrea.
  11. Just curious to know what is happening to the film fairs at Cheshunt. These normally occur about every two or three months. However the last one was at the beginning of December, with no word on another yet.
  12. Do you mean rolo? 921788[/snapback] No I'm guessing he means Pogo Patterson. IMMS, gingerish hair, overweight slacker. Always had a new idea up his sleeve. Part of the first generation Grange Hill, alongside Tucker, Hargreaves, Bullet Baxter and co. Effectively replaced by Roland Browning about the same time as Gripper Stebson and the infamous Mr Bronson joined for the second generation.
  13. Would be a return to London, and preferably Sunday return for me - budget wise. If there is discounted hotel on Sunday night, not so painful.
  14. Thanks Stu, got the e-mail before reading the forum, have resent to correct address. Apologies. Fingers crossed this time.
  15. The problem that Charisma had with the FHM photo's was that they were "doctored". As far as I know, the Playboy photo's were done on the express request that she had final approval.
  16. Strange that Wayne Pygram is being stated as playing Governer Tarkin, since I was under the impression that Christopher Eccleston had already filmed scenes playing the role. Mind you, the original Organa was not Jimmy Smits but Adrian Dunbar. So maybe a re-cast!!!
  17. Old Who fan and proud. Had my doubts, and I'm sorry I ever did. Saturday was like being a teen again. Yes I am that old! Nice for the companion to get a proper introduction for a change, in some ways overshadowing the Doctor. Hopefully the balance can be redressed in future episodes, afterall it was only the first episode that was called Rose not the entire series! Most pilots are very hit or miss, "Pilotitis" as a friend of mine puts it, but I thought that "Rose" came across quite well. Hell, not only is it good to see a return of Doctor Who, but a return of Science Fiction to prime time terrestrial TV, surely for the first time in ages. One last thing, TEN AND A HALF MILLION VIEWERS Who'd have thought!!!
  18. The theme on the download is not final. If you've seen the trailers that are playing on the beeb at the moment, that's the theme in the background. Not a great deal of difference, just "beefed" up a bit. As a Who fan, it's very reassuring to hear so many non-Who fans saying that they like what they've seen. And that isn't even the finished product!!!
  19. Exactly what do you mean by available to sign. Do you mean not working? Do you mean they can read and write? Do you mean that they are alive? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Just because they are not coming, does not mean that Showmasters has not approached them. No matter what bribery, incentive, cajoling and brown nosing anybody does. If someone does not want to do something they will not do it!!! That only stands to reason. You seem to be inferring that Showmaster is not trying hard enough. Until you can back this up, then maybe you should wait in the wings until a guest comes along that you do want to see! Ray is a good guest and not only covers the Star Wars criteria but also X-men. I had read a lot of bad comments about Ray, comparing him with many of these people that will "go to the opening of a crisp packet" and believed it. However one of my first jobs was to P.A. for him at an event. Dreading the worst I found in a short space of time that he is an extremely genuine bloke. Always delivers and from speaking with him, knows and feels that the fan always takes priority. A nice guy, and always welcome. I, too, can make a list of guests I'd love to see, but there is very little hope of them ever touching an event such as Collectormania(or any other event for that matter), with a ten foot lightsaber.
  20. John Hurt, a very nice man, very approachable. Probably not a question of it not being his "thing". Probably more likely that he's far too busy. Would be a fascinating guest though, knows his stuff and is very happy to talk to people.
  21. Always a pleasure, never a pain. I must be getting better, you only punched me once this time!!!! LOL!
  22. Okay, from just keeping a lurk on these forums. And also at the insistance of those that I met again at the weekend. Namely Roxy, Christa, Debbie and Megan, that's real names, not forum nicknames. And also to explain myself if any embarrassing bits and bobs get posted(I will only deny what isn't true). A little wet behind the ears with this computer lark, avatars HUH!! A big HY to those already mentioned and pretty much the rest of the crew. Later dudes - Steve P.
  23. This has got to be a wind up - right. Oh weel, if not it's nice to be wanted See what I can do!!!
