  1. It's patronising and an insult to viewers' intelligence is what it is!
  2. Hi Martine. Shame I can't see your avatar. An avatar can tell you so much about a person.
  3. Are you seriously saying that Enterprise is not being screened anyway in Australia at all? Not even on digital channels??
  4. Who is this Sarah? Any chance you could post a pic of her?
  5. Oooooooh don't read the spoilers! Live in the moment!
  6. What annoys me about the BBC's attitude to these shows is the double standards. American shows are always the first to be chopped up by their editors in order to make them more 'kiddy friendly' and yet their own shows like Eastenders and Holby City are much more disturbing and graphic and violent. Booooooooo!!
  7. Christian Coulson was a disgrace at C4 and shouldn't be allowed to attend one of these events again if all he can't be bothered to smile and be pleasant. What an arrogant ****! Anyway, rant over. :) Can we have a Klingon or two please? JG Hertzler (Martok) or Robert O'Reilly (Gowron)? Or maybe even a Cardassian like Marc Alaimo (Gul Dukat)?
  8. Putting Spike in could prove to be the undoing of what has become a superb series over the last two years, much better than series' 6 and 7 of Buffy were. However, I have faith that the writers will be able to handle the arrival of Spike well and not let the rest of the cast suffer as a result.
  9. T'Pol wore three different outfits in that episode! Since when were Vulcans so vain??
  10. Watched the first episode of series 3 of Enterprise this week and although I enjoyed it (hopefully a sign of better things to come from what has been an only average series so far) I was totally sickened by the new levels of sexploitation of T'Pol. Jolene Blalock is a decent actress and deserves more than being trotted out to show off her body every other episode. The scene with her and Trip rubbing each other's 'neural nodes' (backs) was awful and did nothing for the episode's plot nor the integirty of the series as a whole. I really thought the show's producers would give us fans a bit more credit from now on, seeing as the unnecessary 'decontamination' scenes of previous years had failed to attract more viewers and, if anything, was driving more traditional Trekkies away. For me, Seven of Nine's cat suits were about as far as Star Trek should ever go down this gratuitous and Baywatch-esque path. And I thought that Vulcans really didn't like being touched too??
  11. Only just seen the first episode of series 3 over here in England but I've always been of the opinion that the series' 'temporal' elements could very well mean that one day Enterprise will just be erased from history - or maybe even alter it! Last season's Borg episode has already kind of altered the timeline anyway.
  12. I meant that my signature was a Dukat quote!
  13. So's the signtaure! Hee hee.
  14. Spock was also an expert of the witty and superior put-down. Just ask McCoy! And the only people who say that 'sarcasm is the lowest form of wit' are people who aren't bright enough to use it! (That wasn't an attack at you, by the way).
  15. No, it's Dukat. I would so love to meet Marc Alaimo one day! And how the hell are you replying so quick?? Are you connected to your PC in some sort of Borg way?
  16. That's a sweet avatar too!
  17. Any Hobbit movie needs Ian Holm to play Bilbo or it runs the real risk of being distanced hugely from LOTR. Don't forget that Bilbo is supposed to be middle-aged in the book.
  18. Of course Tuvok is funny! Haven't you ever heard that sarcasm is the greatest form of wit. Just listen to some of his Tom Paris put-downs! Classic one-liners!
  19. Thank you for your nice replies. :) I have been on the lookout for a good Star Trek/cult TV messageboard for a while now. Is this a good one?
  20. Aaaah but is it right to equate "favourite" with "funniest" in a franchise like Star Trek? Benjamin Sisko is a huge hero to me but he's not a 'funny character' at all. O'Brien, Tuvok and Phlox are much funnier!
  21. Just thought I'd make my first post on this site a nice, friendly one and just say 'Hello' to everyone. I am also going to admit that I am a big Star Trek fan (particularly DS9 - just ordered the final DVD boxset from Amazon today!) and a saddo Sheffield Wednesday fan. I am also a 33 year old librarian. I went to Collectormania 4 and got totally starstruck when talking to Rene Auberjonois! Right, now I'm going to play with some of these cool smileys!
