  1. (VOY) S = State of Flux (1st season episode) "It's a perfect cross onto Butterscotch's head! All she has to do is nod the ball past the helpless keeper! Can she finish it.......?"
  2. Traditionally, you should only use the surname as the one leading the letter when putting someone's full name in a thread like this - but I'll let it slide this time. (TNG) N = nacelle (a long blue glowy thing on the side of a Fed ship) :-)
  3. (Enterprise) A = The Aenar (blind Andorian brain-readers)
  4. (TOS) Y = Yeoman Rand (cool game, by the way)
  5. Probably series 5 but let's be honest, it's ALL f*cking brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I'd go for the old 'start at the beginning' approach. It worked for me and I'm hooked now! Many years ago, I had a passing interest in Next Gen but felt it was just too vast to get involved in. The along came DS9 and I set about hiring the videos one by one from my local video rental store. It was the start of a love affair!!!
  7. The DS9 baseball episode. All the crew are trying to put the Vulcan batters off by shouting "badda badda badda" at them but Worf just shouts "Death to the opposition!"

    60s Shatner

I've been having this conversation recently with my wife. I wanted to know if she found 60s Kirk sexy. Obviously he's handsome but I was curious as to whether ladies found him sexy and desireable as they might have with other 60s icons. What do people think? :-)
  9. What??? SFX has a sealed Spoiler Section and clear spoiler markings at the top of every story!!
  10. "Is this the right way to say goodbye" could have been referring to Manny Coto or any of the production crew or even to the fan demonstrations. Just putting "Spoilers" is a good deal less open to interpretation.
  11. An absolutely stunning girl.
  12. Not at all. One can discuss the end of a series like Enterprise in many ways, not just the plot details of the final show. And even if you were correct, the thread title would have been much more useful if it had read "The End of Enterprise - SPOILERS"! That is standard messageboard practice and I don't think it is asking too much for users to be a little more considerate in future.
  13. Howsabout a SPOILER ALERT next time, chaps!!?? Deary me.
  14. That's an old rumour actually that predates Enterprise and shouldn't be given too much credence. There are plans for the next movie in place although it won't feature any of the TNG crew. Berman is talking about doing another prequel. Oh dear, does he never learn!? And I can heartily recommend getting into the Trek novels if you are suffering withdrawal symtpoms.
  15. I met him and thought he was pleasant, humble and thoroughly charming and nice. Such a shame I got all 'DS9 starstruck' again and couldn't think of anything really cool to chat with him about! D'oh!!
  16. I am extremely gratified that my thread has produced such meaningful discussion on this topic. Hopefully it is this sort of feedback that will encourage Showmasters to have a little rethink about this 'No P & P' policy. :-) A few points I noticed though: 1) It does seem there are more than a few guests ARE willing to do personalisations even though the stewards think they shouldn't (Craig Charles, Sean Astin, John Rhys Davies, etc.). Surely this is self-defeating? When I met Anthony Head a couple of years back, he did tell me that he wasn't allowed to do personalisations because of the size of the (virtual) queue that I had just spent 5 hours in! 2) Many of the stewards had the great idea of telling us to write our names down on the ticket before meeting the guests that were doing personalisations. Well done to the staff for that one. It's that sort of sensible policy that gets queues moving quicker. 3) Shame on those staff that tried to bully paying customers!
  17. Ethan Philips was fantastic last time he came to MK! I spent ages discussing Shakespeare and King Lear with him! And I would really love to meet Tim Russ.
  18. Thank you for your reply. I certainly don't think you are being cheeky and I did have a good time at C7. I'll certainly come to other Collectormanias. I just thought that the 'No P & P' rule seemed more widespread than at previous ones and I worry that eventually it will apply to most, if not all, the guests there. If that happens then it really will be a waste of time for most people. Cheers though. I'm not trying to be too negative. Honest.
  19. I think that perhaps not being able to see your fave guest because of the size of the virtual queue is something that everyone surely knows could happen anyway - even if you turn up at The Centre at the crack of dawn. However, as grace points out, it takes only a few seconds to hand the guest a piece of paper with "To Will and Grace etc" on it and for them to write it. I think that for £20 a person should be able to have at least a personalised 10x8 for their troubles. If that means that 500 people get a wonderful memento of the day as opposed to 1000 people being herded through like cattle (see Jolene Blalock thread) then I think that's fair enough.
  20. Although I appreciate the argument of getting as many numbers through a queue as possible and I am appreciative that this policy is now clearly marked up on the celeb's wipeboard, I really do think that this policy is not good enough. I came on Sunday too meet a number of people but as soon as I saw that Jolene Blalock was charging £20 but wasn't doing piccies or even a simple "To Paul etc...." I decided not to bother. The first time I came I waited 5 hours to meet Anthony Head and then he told me that he wasn't allowed to do a personalisation. He was lovely and we got our photos taken with him but, frankly, he could've signed the photo with a personalisation in the time it took him to tell me why he couldn't do it! Now, it seems that more and more guests are taking this option and it is detracting from the event as a whole.
  21. Craig Charles IS Dave Lister. There is no difference!
  22. Fair enough. I'm actually more annoyed for my wife than for myself as I am not a QL fan. Do you know if he has any more UK appearances planned?
  23. It's time to move on to Star Trek novels, people. And some of them are really very good. :-) Good call on the whole philosophy of a network using Trek in the future as a response to 'Star Wars TV' though. Let's be honest, that's the only reason Trek movies ever got made! I've been very surprised recently (with the return of Doctor Who) to see the similarities between how the BBC ran down and then chopped Doctor Who in the late 80s with what UPN has done to Enterprise. Veeeery interesting.
