  1. Hi Queen_Sindel,thanks for the reply! She sent the form a couple of weeks ago,and she's been told just to go to the info desk when she gets in and they will have her details and give her the wristband.. just fretting about whether she'd need to queue somewhere different to us to get in,and whether she'd need a reference number or anything for the wristband! I'm sure as long as she brings the disability documents etc all will be well! Cheers :) Laura
  2. Hey all, Apologies if this has already been posted/answered elsewhere and i've missed it! So..i'm bringing my mom and her partner to Collectormania this year, and she is literally the momma of all overthinking/flapping/planning and stressing. Her partner is disabled and it's the first time for both of them attending any event like this. They've applied for the extra help wristband but not heard back yet, just wondering if anyone could give me any info on where to collect this? Do they collect before doors open or once they're inside, and will they have to queue separately? (do i have to leave her unsupervised..?!) I've been to collectormania before but it's my first time with a disabled visitor,so any help at all muchly appreciated! Just want them to have an awesome day and keep any flapping to a minimum! Cheers in advance :) Laura
  3. Sooo....everyone all super-organised re.cosplay/outfits..? Or...um,anyone else frantically sewing/gluing/throwing bits of costume round in a rage at the last minute? Asking for a friend.... :)
  4. Pet collars...? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANCOL-VELVET-ELASTICATED-CAT-COLLAR-with-or-without-Engraved-ID-Tag-/261002497810? Don't know if they're any use to you but might be worth a try! (Just made part of my own cosplay out of two 'doggie seatbelts' from Poundland,so you know, whatever works... )
  5. Damn!...the 90's teenager in me was totally looking forward to seeing 'Brock Hudson..' ahh well...maybe next year!
  6. I would not want you to get the hassle the cosplayer who was arrested. Check the link below http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/moment-armed-police-arrest-red-6788212 Found the article after you mentioned it,cheers for the link anyway! I'll definitely be keeping anything remotely suspicious well under wraps til i get there, don't worry-i have no intention of spending the day in custody while the police try and figure out how dangerous my spraypainted Poundland guns are! Thanks all of you for the advice :)
  7. Winter soldier a cool costume idea :) will be keeping an eye out for yours! Doing it on the saturday i think :) Feel free to give us a hello if you spot me!
  8. I know size means nothing, was just a lighthearted comment :) & yes, some if it is military type gear-i know security, hotels & otherwise, are going to be on high alert right now & that's why i was a little concerned! If all else fails i'll just sweat it out in a coat til i'm safely inside, thanks for the advice :)
  9. Think I'll drop them an email just to be on the safe side,i mean-i'm five foot nothing,i'm pretty sure i pose very little terror threat! Cheers for the reassurance though :)
  10. Yeah,i'll be keeping all weaponry well hidden til i actually get there, but my cosplay still involves a lot of tactical-looking stuff (Winter soldier)... Just didn't fancy being wrestled to the ground in the hotel lobby by overenthusiastic security!
  11. Hello! Quick cosplay related question! (Seemed like the right thread to leave it in..) Cosplaying for the first time this year,(there's spraypaint EVERYWHERE in my house/garden) & i'm pretty well researched on keeping weapons covered/making sure they're bendy etc...but just wondering-how do hotels usually react to cosplay? For example,is a 4* hotel going to have me tailed by security for browsing the buffet in tactical gear..? I'd guess they're pretty used to it this time of year, but i have the ability to overthink a situation at 1000 paces,so just wondering if anyone had any experience? Cheers all! Laura
  12. How far is the walk? We normally get a train straight to Euston from Northampton or Milton Keynes but then go for the tube. Took us about an hour and half,ish.... that's with a couple of rest breaks in Hyde park and a stop for some ice cream-related bribery! Just seemed less stressful than the tube :)
  13. Walked it from Euston last year.. Doable.....in a 'it didn't look that far on google maps...are we there yet?' way,admittedly.. but still walkable if you're really stuck.... :)
  14. Hi :) There's a fabric sealer-type stuff called Fray Check if that's any help,it stops fraying on pretty much everything :) (dries clear but can go a little crispy if you use too much, just try and keep your crispy bits on the inside of the sleeves and it's all good..) Don't know whether that could be useful to you?
  15. Hey there, 'Escapade' in Camden is pretty good for both variety and sizing, definitely worth a look :) http://www.escapade.co.uk/
