  1. So are they all the same 'format'? I notice some are in hotels which threw me a bit.
  2. I know this is going to sound like an obvious question but… What's the difference between a Film & Comicon, Collectormaina and Autographica? Having only been to LFCC for first time this year (it being my 2nd con EVER). I'm intrigued by different names.
  3. Well at lfcc. You walk on and pose to the left of stage. Pose to centre and pose to the right (so you get almost 360 view of cosplay) then walk off.
  4. I'm just planning a cool outfit..cool as in tempreture. Thinking of doing tinkerbell outfit...with a vintage twist. Then finding something dr who-ish for the other day....maybe some timelord robes so I can wear something cool underneath and just put on the robes for photo's. lol! No pinching my ideas you Ah...well maybe we can have a whole council of timelords?
  5. Sylvia Anderson I'm a thunderbirds fan.
  6. Decided to drop the tinkerbell idea...and go for Lady Penelope (thunderbirds) cosplay. Now to design a Penelon dress. F.A.B.
  7. Does going to a con involve them having to do anything for you? Are you spending your own money not there's? If not they have no reason to complain. I know my mum rolls her eyes when I mention comicons but then I'm an adult now so she can think its silly if she wants. I do it all with my own energies so there.
  8. Cast of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. :)
  9. Sounds great. :) So in my usually flip flopping style. I am now definately doing romana II (city of death) for one day. But for the other day I might be doing a clara cosplay...depends if I finish it within the time.
  10. The extended Friday preview actually makes it worthwhile for me to go up on the friday.

  12. I actually like the sound of last years line up. Any of the stargate SG-1 main cast would be cool. I've been rewatching episodes and getting back into it.
  13. a bit left field I know but what about Miss piggy and kermit the frog?
  14. Another thought, having a dedicated changing area for cosplayers would free up the loos for everyone else.
  15. Any Doctor who 'Doctor' or companions are my main target. As I missed out on autographs at lfcc because it was sooo busy. Other than that I'm planning on enjoying cosplaying and actually getting a chance to look at the stalls.
  16. I gotta wait till end of next month/begining of september as I have to save up.
  17. Ben Miller (primevil) Hannah Spearritt Andrew lee potts Janet Fielding Nicola Bryant
  18. Maybe its worth doing a survey? Find out who arrived and left when and who they were seeing/what they were doing? It would give you an updated view as to if its still the same percentages. I do LOVE a good survey. Can't beat market research as anyone who's watched the apprentice knows. I could see why someone local might come for a short time...but with bigger guests and more international visitors they are going to be staying longer and strategies might need updating.
  19. They accept Euros at SM events?!?! What?! When I exchange the money, I naturally get 50 pound notes too, but almost every time the crew seems suspicious when I hand them over. Are those notes really that rare in everyday use? I've used £50 notes to pay for stuff at shops before...yes you do get a double take (followed by good service...I think they think I'm rich. lol!). Not a lot of people use them...the B&B I stayed in once however didn't even blink. (I just find it easier paying accommodation bills using higher denomination money than carrying round lots of £20 notes.)
  20. That's really good idea..especially when things can change on the fly without notice. Yeah, I found it a bit difficult. Some people was queuing for the wrong celebrity. And crew members have been asked a lot time: who's now in the photo shooting or next? I nearly joined a queue I didn't need to join because of it...fortunately decided to ask the crew member first before we joined the queue. And got rushed through.

  22. if you've never seen a scottish note before (I haven't) I would say it would be normal to question them (didn't even know these was separate scottish money)....but then i'd question euros too.
  23. Taking off a jumper just doesn't compare to it. It's an interesting experience to wear a hooped skirt or have a bustle and the lacing means that you need assistance getting in and out of the dress unless it has buttons and that all depends on the class system of the character you want to cosplay. You have to consider the logistics which means going on the less busy day if possible to make sure you have enough space around you as the way you move is dictated by the size of the dress. Its one of the reasons why I've decided after a long think to go for something with a bum roll rather than full bustle or crinoline (I think I need to save it for a quiet con or one where I don't have to travel on the tube). Going regency instead. Bib front gown, spencer, short stays (front lacing), petticoat, bum roll, reticule and probably a turban rather than bonnet with a feather.
