  1. It stands for "Taking Care of Business." It is a logo that Elvis Presley made up back in the 60's/70's as an emblem for use by himself and his "Memphis Mafia" group of mates. He had jewellery made up for people close to him with the logo on it. You can buy stuff from the official Elvis website with the TCB design on it, so I imagine you can get the necklaces from there too.
  2. Agreed, any Doctor Who guests would be welcome. Especially if they are story specific actors like Jasmine Breaks, Brian Cant etc. (PS, It's Georgia Moffett)
  3. I agree. Marc Singer was lovely when I met him in Milton Keynes. Was very happy to pose for a photo with me and chat in that sort of way where HE is asking ME the questions. Robert Englund was nice too, although obviously his work as Freddy overshadows his V work for a lot of people, sadly meaning he will always be busy. I managed to get a nice cast photo from Ebay before I met Marc, so it would be nice to be able to add more signatures to it. In particular, I've always wanted to meet Michael Ironside. He was great in Total Recall & The Machinist, but V was my favourite role of his.
  4. I would prefer to see people from the first 7 years or so of SG1 come to Chevron-7. So many people going to Collectormania events are interested in "the current big-thing" and concentrate on the latest craze (LOTR, Lost, Heroes etc), so I think people are voting for the current SG1 characters partly because of this. And also because they are well known for other genre shows. I personally would prefer to meet the characters/actors who helped the show run for so long. Added to this the fact that it's a Stargate convention and primary objective should be to be to concentrate on those shows. If Ben Browder & Claudia Black are popular because of their other show, maybe it would be an idea to give that show a convention of it's own?
  5. I probably would feel a lot happier if these people were announced a year or two down the line, at Lockdown 2 or 3. I just think that with the expectations, the excitement surrounding the 1st ever LOST even in the UK, it should have started bigger then this, and got hold of the smaller guest stars once the even has proved popular. I imagined at least 2 or 3 main stars with photo sessions in which every attendee lines up for (making Showmasters plenty of money back), but as it is, I can't imagine any of these guests having a too busy photo shoot.
  6. Agreed, this is not a bad guest. In fact out of the last 3 announcements, this is the only one I would really have ever wanted to meet at some point. But I do think it extremely sad that I was able to predict this announcement a week ago, purely on the basis of the recent guests being minor league characters who have been in around 8 episodes (allowing for arguments to be made "They have been in 8 episodes, so not a minor character"). In the context of a Collectormania I would be happy enough to meet these people, but for a LOST convention, it has been disappointing seeing these guests being announced. I will eat my words IF a regular actor from the show is announced as the final guest, but I am predicting now the last announcement will be more of the same.
  7. An outstanding actor, very versatile and thoroughly creepy as Ben. He would be a dream guest for me, and judging by the DVD footage, seems like a really nice guy.
  8. I was just wondering if there was any chance of getting Murray Melvin & Georgina Hale back for a Showmasters event anytime in the near future? I realise their appearance at LFCC 2007 was courtesy of The Who Shop, but all the SM information for the event (including the booklet at the event) listed they would be there both Saturday and Sunday. When I went to meet them on the Sunday, they were gone. They only signed on the Saturday. I don't know how many others were in the same situation and missed out on them purely because of the wrong information, but perhaps getting them for a future SM event will make up for it for those people? Considering how many of the London 2007 guests have now been announced for further SM (and other organisation's) events, why not get the 2 people a lot may have missed?
  9. I couldn't agree more! There have been so many actors doing Showmasters events whose sole claim-to-faim is saying one line in one film. That has been great for fans of that film, and I am happy for them. So why not do the same for Doctor Who fans? The show is more popular now than ever, and as with Deep Roy & Kate O'Mara, the majority of these Dr Who people are well known for more than JUST their Who work. Also, the sheer number of people involved with the show from 1963 - present means you could go to Dr Who conventions your whole life and still not meet all the ones you want. Surely with the large number of guests at SM events, and how regular the events are, it is an obvious choice? An infinite supply of well known actors!
  10. I love meeting these sort of people from Doctor Who - the sort of actors who, although their roles are small, they make an impact on the viewer. She may have just been a non-speaking monster, but the Weeping Angels were (in my opinion) THE most terrifying monster from old or new Dr. Who, because of their unnatural movements.
  11. They have just recently completed filming on the straight-to-DVD movie of Dead Like Me, but apparently it is not due for release until a year from now (around Summer 2008 I think is planned). Depending on the sucess of this, more DVD movies, TV episodes, or even new Seasons of the show may be commisioned.
  12. (Sorry if this has been suggested already) I think it would be a great idea if Showmasters organised some sort of cast signing to celebrate the launch of the new straight-to-DVD episodes of Dead Like Me and Futurama. These are 2 popular shows which were cancelled, but given a 2nd chance with upcoming DVDs. The future of both shows depends on the sales of the DVDs. The more sucessful the sales, the more chance there is of more episodes or possibly even new TV seasons. How about gathering some cast members for whichever Showmasters event is closest to the respective release dates? Billy West was a HUGELY popular guest at LFCC 2007, and Henry Ian Cusick (who replaces Mandy Patinkin's character in the new Dead Like...DVD) is coming to Lockdown - at least that's a couple of major possible guests. Surely this would be a great chance to save the shows, and for fans to meet some popular actors & voice-over stars?
